The carbon cage of buckminsterfullerene Ih-C60, which obeys the Isolated-Pentagon Rule (IPR), can be transformed to non-IPR cages in the course of high-temperature chlorination of C60 or C60Cl30 with SbCl5. The non-IPR chloro derivatives were isolated chromatographically (HPLC) and characterized crystallographically as 1809C60Cl16, 1810C60Cl24, and 1805C60Cl24, which contain, respectively two, four, and four pairs of fused pentagons in the carbon cage. High-temperature trifluoromethylation of the chlorination products with CF3I afforded a non-IPR CF3 derivative, 1807C60(CF3)12, which contains four pairs of fused pentagons in the carbon cage. Addition patterns of non-IPR chloro and CF3 derivatives were compared and discussed in terms of the formation of stabilizing local substructures on fullerene cages. A detailed scheme of the experimentally confirmed non-IPR C60 isomers obtained by Stone–Wales cage transformations is presented.  相似文献

The photochemical isomerization of a styrylpyridinium dye ( SP ) bearing an unsymmetrically attached benzo-15-crown-5 ether has been studied in aqueous solution in the absence and presence of cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]). The detailed analysis of the UV/Vis and NMR spectra showes that the isomeric composition of the photostationary mixtures of SP can be modulated by the host-guest complexation with CB[7]. It was found that steric hindrance caused by encapsulation of SP in the host cavity induces the exclusive formation of the anti conformer of Z- SP in contrast with the mixture of both anti and syn conformers obtained during photoisomerization of the dye without CB[7]. Remarkably, the displacement of anti Z- SP from CB[7] does not lead to the transformation of the anti Z-isomer into the syn Z-isomer pointing out the conformational memory of the system. The results provide an interesting example of the supramolecular stereorecognition by the achiral CB[7] host.  相似文献

Pincer complexes featuring readily tunable tridentate ligand frameworks comprise one of the most actively studied classes of organometallic and metal–organic compounds and find extensive use in catalysis, organic synthesis, materials science, and other fields of chemistry and allied disciplines. Currently growing attention is devoted to non‐classical ligand scaffolds, such as functionalized carboxamides, which offer multiple options for directed structural modifications. In this study, the reactions of (methylsulfanyl)acetyl and propanoyl chlorides with 2‐(aminomethyl)pyridine, 2‐(2‐aminoethyl)pyridine, 8‐aminoquinoline and 2‐(diphenylthiophosphoryl)aniline afford a series of new pincer‐type ligands based on functionalized carboxamides. The ligands obtained readily undergo direct cyclopalladation under the action of PdCl2(NCPh)2 in dichloromethane at room temperature, resulting in Pd(II) pincer complexes with N,N,S‐ and S,N,S‐donor sets. Importantly, some of the cyclopalladated derivatives can also be produced efficiently under solvent‐free conditions according to the approach recently developed by our group. The complexes obtained have been tested for cytotoxicity against several human cancer cell lines and catalytic activity in the model Suzuki reaction. The results have been compared to those for the related Pd(II) pincer complexes to define the main structure–activity relationships and to outline the most promising structures for further investigations.  相似文献

The effects of pressure on the crystal structure of simple (or sp-) elements are analysed in terms of changes in coordination number, packing density, and interatomic distances, and general rules are established. In the polyvalent elements from groups 14–17, the covalently bonded structures tend to transform to metallic phases with a gradual increase in coordination number and packing density, a behaviour normally expected under pressure. Group 1 and 2 metallic elements, however, show a reverse trend towards structures with low packing density due to intricate changes in their electronic structure. Complex crystal structures such as host–guest and incommensurately modulated structures found in these elements are given special attention in this review in an attempt to determine their role in the observed phase-transition sequences.  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour of 13 chalcone analogues was systematically studied by means of cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry at a glassy carbon (GC), gold and platinum working electrodes using two different supporting electrolyte/solvent combinations. It was found that chalcone analogues can be easily oxidized at both GC and gold working electrodes, but not at a platinum electrode. Principal component analysis was further employed to reveal similarities/dissimilarities between oxidation potentials, chronoamperometric signals and ability of the compounds to scavenge the reactive oxygen species H2O2. The study reveals the inverse proportional relationship between the scavenging ability of H2O2, expressed as IC50, and chronoamperometric signal at 800 mV using gold as working electrode. A careful look at rough path topology applied to Brownian motion reveals new possible properties of the well-known Lévy area, in particular the presence of an intrinsic drift of this area. Using renormalization limit of Markov chains on periodic graphs, we present a construction of such a non-trivial drift and give an explicit formula for it. The method of random sampling was introduced for the first time in the nutation nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) spectroscopy where the nutation spectra show characteristic singularities in the form of shoulders. The analytic formulae for complex two-dimensional (2-D) nutation NQR spectra (I = 3/2) were obtained and the condition for resolving the spectral singularities for small values of an asymmetry parameter η was determined. Our results show that the method of random sampling of a nutation interferogram allows significant reduction of time required to perform a 2-D nutation experiment and does not worsen the spectral resolution.  相似文献
