The optical properties of slab-like photonic crystals are often discussed on the basis of effective index (EI) approximations,
where a 2-D effective refractive index profile replaces the actual 3-D structure. Our aim is to assess this approximation
by analogous steps that reduce finite 2-D waveguide Bragg-gratings (to be seen as sections through 3-D PC slabs and membranes)
to 1-D problems, which are tractable by common transfer matrix methods. Application of the EI method is disputable in particular
in cases where locally no guided modes are supported, as in the holes of a PC membrane. A variational procedure permits to
derive suitable effective permittivities even in these cases. Depending on the structural properties, these values can well
turn out to be lower than one, or even be negative. Both the “standard” and the variational procedures are compared with reference
data, generated by a rigorous 2-D Helmholtz solver, for a series of example structures. 相似文献

[reaction: see text] We describe the synthesis of derivatives of 8-azanebularine, a known inhibitor of adenosine deaminases including the RNA-editing enzyme ADAR2. 6-Methyl, 6-hydroxymethyl, 6-cyano, and 6-mercapto derivatives were obtained from 6-bromo precursors using different cross-coupling or substitution reactions. The C6-methyl derivative was incorporated into an RNA substrate for ADAR2 via the phosphoramidite. Quantitative gel mobility shift experiments with the resulting RNA indicate that methylation at C6 dramatically reduces the affinity of 8-azanebularine for ADAR2. 相似文献

Four novel tetraarylurea calix[4]arenes (4a-d) have been synthesized, substituted by ω-alkenyloxy residues in 3,5-positions of the arylurea residues. The eight alkenyl groups were pairwise connected by olefin metathesis and subsequent hydrogenation. The ring-closure reaction was carried out with heterodimers exclusively formed by 4 with a tetratosylurea calix[4]arene 1, which serves as a template in this reaction step. The potential trans-cavity bridging is entirely suppressed in this way. Bis- and tetraloop calix[4]arenes cannot form dimers due to overlapping loops. However, they readily form heterodimers with open-chain tetraureas, as long as their urea residues can pass through the loops. Thus, five heterodimeric capsules 8a-e with bis[3]catenane structure were synthesized using again the olefin metathesis followed by hydrogenation. Two different strategies were compared for this reaction sequence, starting with heterodimers formed either by tetraloop derivatives 5 with tetraalkenyl tetraureas 6 (pathway A) or by bisloop derivatives 7 with octaalkenyl tetraureas 4 (pathway B). A distinct advantage of one of these pathways was not observed; the bis[3]catenanes were obtained with yields of 20-60%. Heterodimers formed by tetraloop derivatives 5b-d and octaalkenyl ureas 4b-d were converted analogous to three novel cyclic [8]catenanes 9a-c in 30-42% yield. The structure of the novel catenanes was unambiguously proved by 1H NMR and ESI MS, and for 8a and 9a additionally by single crystal X-ray analysis. 相似文献

The mono‐ and bis‐reduction of 6,13‐bis((triisopropylsilyl)ethynyl)quinoxalino[2,3‐b]phenazine ( 1 ) with potassium anthracenide in THF is reported. Both the radical anion 1 .? and the dianion 1 2? were isolated and characterized by optical and structural (single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction) methods. Solutions of the radical anion 1 . ? were stable in air for several hours and characterized by EPR spectroscopy. Dianion 1 2? is highly fluorescent and photostable. 相似文献

The manufacturer who is a supplier of trade credit may face non-payment risk from customers and a capital shortage problem simultaneously. Trade credit insurance, as one of the most important risk management tools, has been widely used in companies’ daily operation. In this study, the manufacturer who allows customers to delay payment for goods already delivered purchases trade credit insurance to transfer and reduce non-payment risk and borrows money from a bank to accommodate the capital constraint problem. The Stackelberg game and loss-averse theory are used to establish a newsboy model including trade credit insurance, and the optimal insurance coverage and total sales of the manufacturer are thereby investigated. Subsequently, the interest rate decision of the bank under different risk-averse situations is also characterized. We find that the interest rate set by a loss-averse bank is equal to or greater than that given by a risk-neutral bank. The use of trade credit insurance can help the manufacturer expand sales and dramatically reduce its default risk. Both the bank and the manufacturer are better off due to the use of trade credit insurance, but contrary to what one might expect, the bank prefers giving a higher interest rate to the manufacturer when the premium rate is in a reasonable region, which indicates that the manufacturer cannot use the insurance to negotiate better financing terms. 相似文献

A cyclocondensation of TIPS‐ethynyl‐substituted diaminoarenes with in situ obtained 4,5‐dibromocyclohexa‐3,5‐diene‐1,2‐dione has led to the synthesis of tetrabromotetraazapentacene (BrTAP). Crataegus contains numerous health-promoting compounds that are also proposed to have anti-cancer properties. Herein, we aimed at a contemporaneous evaluation of the effects of polyphenol-rich extracts of berries, leaves, and flowers of six Crataegus species on the viability and invasive potential on the highly aggressive human glioblastoma U87MG cell line. The treatment with the extracts evoked cytotoxic effects, with the strongest in the berry extracts. All extracts not only promoted the apoptosis-related cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP1) but also substantially inhibited the activity of pro-survival kinases, focal adhesion kinase (FAK), and protein kinase B (PKB; also known as Akt), thus indicating the suppression of proliferative and invasive potentials of the examined glioblastoma cells. The qualitative and quantitative characterization of the extracts’ content was also performed and revealed that amongst 37 polyphenolic compounds identified in the examined Crataegus extracts, the majority (29) was detected in berries; the leaf and flower extracts, exerting milder cytotoxic effects, contained only 14 and 13 compounds, respectively. The highest polyphenol content was found in the berries of C. laevigata x rhipidophylla x monogyna, in which flavan-3-ols and phenolic acids predominated. Our results demonstrated that a high content of polyphenolic compounds correlated with the extract cytotoxicity, and especially berries were a valuable source of compounds with anti-cancer potential. This might be a promising option for the development of an effective therapeutic strategy against highly malignant glioblastomas in the future. 相似文献
