Tetrajodterephtalsäure-derivate als Röntgen-Kontrastmittel

New monoamides and diamides of tetraiodoterephthalic acid have been synthesized for evaluation as X-ray contrast agents. Solubility, toxicity, bilitropism, urotropism, and in some cases cholecystographic quality of these compounds are given.

Isoenzyme der Aspartat-Aminotransferase aus dem Endosperm von keimenden Rizinussamen

The amino acid specificity of the aminotransferase activities of glyoxysomes, mitochondria and of the soluble fraction from the endosperm of germinating castor beans was tested with -ketoglutarate as amino acceptor. Glyoxysomes exhibit aspartate aminotransferase (E.C. 2.6.1.1) together with comparatively high asparagine (E.C. 2.6.1.14) and glutamine aminotransferase (E.C. 2.6.1.15) activities. Mitochondria and the soluble fraction contain alanine aminotransferase (E.C. 2.1.2) activity in addition to the glyoxysomal aminotransferases. Asparagine and glutamine aminotransferase activities are much lower in the soluble fraction than in the organelles. A number of isoenzymes of aspartate aminotransferase of mitochondria and glyoxysomes could be separated with the aid of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

A new class of cyclic telluronium salts has been prepared. All the salts are stable in solution in CHCl₃ or dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO). Conductivity measurements in DMSO and dimethylformamide (DMF) have shown that considerable ion pairing occurs in solution. Infrared, ¹H, ¹³C, ¹²⁵Te NMR, and mass spectra are reported and discussed.     

Near-infrared absorption spectroscopy of toluene-sulfonate-diacetylene crystals

The near-infrared (NIR) absorption of toluene-sulfonate-diacetylene crystals (PTS) has been investigated during thermal polymerization. It is shown by comparative NIR and IR spectroscopy of deuterated and of protonated PTS at various temperatures, that these absorptions are vibronic in nature. They can be assigned unambiguously to distinct parts of the molecule. No low-lying electronic state has been found.     

Polarographic analysis for corticosteroids: Part 4. Determination of Corticosteroids in Multicomponent and Complex Pharmaceutical Preparations

Differential pulse polarographic methods for determination of corticosteroids in multicomponent and complex pharmaceutical preparations are described. The influence of other reducible common components of such preparations and excipients on the height of the reduction peaks of corticosteroids and the accuracy of the results was investigated, as well as the interference of excipients by adsorption processes at the electrode or at solid particles of the preparations. In the procedures developed, variations in composition of the supporting electrolyte according to the lipophilicity of the preparation, and the use of standard additions, produce results quickly and reliably. Standard deviations vary from 0.8 to 2.8%.
