Intermolecular interactions of polymethacrylic acid with nonylphenoxypoly(ethoxy)ethanol in water solutions

On the basis of concentration pH dependences of binary solutions of anionic polyelectrolyte, polymethacrylic acid, and nonionic surfactant, nonylphenoxypoly(ethoxy)ethanol the role of hydrophobic interaction in the development of associative and aggregative processes was shown. It is established that the criterion of evaluation of the preferred contribution of hydrophobic interaction is the inflection point on the dependence of pH difference of the individual solutions of nonylphenoxypoly(ethoxy)ethanol and binary solutions of polymethacrylic acid and nonylphenoxypoly(ehoxy)ethanol on the logarithm of ratio of their concentrations.     

Synthesizing of silver nanoparticles by thermal implantation of its ions in ED-20 epoxy oligomer

Stable silver particles of 39 nm in diameter were synthesized by the thermal implantation of its ions in ED-20 epoxy oligomer.     

Pyrolysis of polystyrene in coal tar and ethylene tar pitches

Pyrolysis of polystyrene in the medium of coal tar pitch and of pitch prepared from ethylene production tar was performed in the temperature range 360–420°C at atmospheric pressure.     

Varying surface morfology of oxide-carbonate ores in the synthesis of an adsorbent catalyst

Investigation of the surface morphology of oxide-carbonate manganese ore and dolomite and also adsorbent catalyst samples synthesized on their basis showed that heat treatment of ores resulted in variation of their qualitative composition, surface state, and hardening their structure.     

Reaction of 2,2,3,3-tetracyanocyclopropyl ketones with water

3-Benzoylcyclopropane-1,1,2,2-tetracarbonitrile reacted with water to give 2-benzoyl-1,3-dicyanocyclopropane-1-carboxamide as a result of hydrolysis of the cyano group in the trans position with respect to the carbonyl group and subsequent decarboxylation. The reaction of 3-benzoyl-3-methylcyclopropane-1,1,2,2-tetracarbonitrile with water involved heterocyclization with participation of the carbonyl group and cis-cyano groups, leading to 8-methyl-3,6-dioxo-1-phenyl-2,7-diazatricyclo[3.2.1.0^4,8]octane-4,5-dicarbonitrile. Hydrolysis of 3-alkylcyclopropane-1,1,2,2-tetracarbonitrile followed both reaction paths to produce mixtures of products, including 7-alkyl-4-amino-7-hydroxy-1,9-dioxo-3,8-diazatricyclo[4.3.0.0^1,5]non-3-ene-5-carbonitriles. In all cases, the three-membered ring was retained.     

Azo coupling of 5-substituted furan-2(3H)-ones and 1H-pyrrol-2(3H)-ones with arene(hetarene)diazonium salts

5-Substituted furan-2(3H)-ones and 1-phenyl-1H-pyrrol-2(3H)-ones reacted with diazonium salts derived from substituted anilines and 1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine to give azo coupling products at the methylene group in the heteroring. The products were found to exist as hydrazone tautomers.     

Ozonolysis of dipterocarpol and its derivatives

Oxidation of dipterocarpol and its derivatives with ozone gave compounds containing lactone, lactol, alkoxytetrahydrofuran, aldehyde, and methyl ketone fragments in the side chain, as well as 1,2,4-trioxolane fragment in the A ring. The molecular and crystalline structures of dipterocarpol were determined by X-ray analysis.
