Investigation and isolation of a protein-vitamin concentrate from pine needles

Summary 1. The fractional and amino-acid compositions of needle proteins and of a protein-vitamin concentrate isolated from an extract have been determined.2. The optimum conditions of the protein-extracting process have been found. The dependence of the influence of various factors on the degree of extraction of the protein from the needles has been shown.3. Synthesis of linear α-monoterpenyl acetates from dimethylsulfonium precursors

The reaction of N2O4 with organic compounds

The reaction of N₂O₄ with oximes of formylimidazoles is examined. Kinetics of η6→η5 isomerization of (η6-fluorenyl)(η5-cyclopentadienyl)iron

The kinetics of the reversible isomerization of the zwitterionic complex [(⁶-C₁₃H₉)Fe(⁵-C₅H₅)] (1) into dibenzoferrocene (2) was studied by electronic spectroscopy in the temperature range from 70 to 103 °C. The activation parameters of the reaction 1 2 were determined, E _a = 22.5 kcal mol^–1.     

Characteristic features of polytypism in compounds with the La18W10O57‐type structure

Crystals with the La₁₈W₁₀O₅₇‐type structure (6H and 5H polytypes) were obtained by a self‐flux method from high‐temperature solutions. Some of the crystal samples were studied by single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis. The diffraction patterns indicated that two phases co‐exist in each sample. The hexagonal lattices have a common period of a ≈ 9.0 Å and are non‐equal in length but have equally oriented superstructure periods 6c (phase I) and 5c (phase II), c ≈ 5.4 Å. The structures of phases I and II were solved in the symmetry groups P2c and P321, respectively, based on the X‐ray data for crystals I and II, with predominant content of the first and second phase. The motif of isolated WO₆ prisms with W atoms on the cell edges is common to both phases. WO₆ octahedra, both isolated and joined by faces, are distributed along the c axis within the unit cells. Phase I contains extra layers of isolated WO₆ octahedra compared to phase II. Tungsten sites in joined octahedra are disordered and partially occupied. Disordering is more expressed in phase II, which in return contains rather more W and O per atom of La. The refined chemical compositions are La₁₈W₁₀O₅₇ for I and La₁₅W_8.5O₄₈ for II.     

Synthesis of prenols ωt2c2sOH and ωt3c2sOH related to dolichols

Oligodentate P,N ligands: N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(diphenylphosphanyl)-1,3-diaminobenzene complexes of rhodium, nickel and palladium

The oligodentate P,N ligand N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(diphenylphosphanyl)-1,3-diaminobenzene reacts with two equivalents of [{Rh(mu-Cl)(COD)}(2)], [NiBr(2)(DME)] or [PdCl(2)(NCMe)(2)](COD = 1,5-cyclooctadiene, DME = dimethoxyethane) in dichloromethane to give the tetranuclear complex [1,3-{cis-Rh(COD)(mu-Cl)(2)Rh(PPh(2))(2)N}(2)C(6)H(4)](1) or the dinuclear complexes [1,3-{cis-NiBr(2)(PPh(2))(2)N}(2)C(6)H(4)](2) and [1,3-{cis-PdCl(2)(PPh(2))(2)N}(2)C(6)H(4)](3), respectively. Compounds 1-3 were characterised by NMR ((1)H, (13)C, (31)P) and IR spectroscopy. The molecular structure of 2 and 3 shows the formation of a bis-chelate complex with M-P-N-P four-membered rings (M = Pd, Ni). An N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(diphenylphosphanyl)-1,3-diaminobenzene/Pd(OAc)(2) mixture was used for the copolymerisation of carbon monoxide with ethene or ethylidenenorbornene. Compound 1 was employed as catalyst in the hydrogenation of styrene.     

Preparation and Properties of Blends of Ion-Containing Polyurethane with Polyvinylpyrrolidone

Binary blends of linear polymers, segmented polyurethane [derived from oligooxytetramethylene glycol (MW 1000), toluene diisocyanate (65 : 35 isomer mixture), and magnesium p-hydroxybenzoate] and poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone (MW 10000), were prepared and studied.     

Gradient Semiinterpenetrating Polymer Networks Based on Polyurethane and Polyvinylpyrrolidone

Common and gradient semiinterpenetrating polymer networks based on polyurethane and polyvinylpyrrolidone were prepared. The physicomechanical and IR spectroscopic parameters of these networks were determined and compared.     

Synthesis of novel N2-adamantyl derivatives of 2-amino-6-methyl-4(3H)-pyrimidinone as potential activators of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) release

A method has been developed for the synthesis of N²-adamantyl-2-amino-6-methyl-4(3H)-pyrimidinones based on the reaction of (adamant-1-yl)alkylamine with 2-(ethylsulfanyl)-6-methyl-4(3H)-pyrimidinone which can lead to the corresponding derivatives in which the exocyclic nitrogen atom and the adamantyl radical are separated by a hydrocarbon fragment. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 10, pp. 1541–1544, October, 2006.
