Performance of a Bismuth-based Erbium-doped fiber amplifier is experimentally and theoretically investigated using 1480 nm pumping with double-pass scheme. In the theoretical analysis, the rate and power propagation equations are solved to examine the optimum length for the C-band operation as well as the gain and noise figure characteristics. The calculated small signal gain is 38 dB with gain variation of less than 3 dB. The measured gain is 4 dB lower due to spurious reflections which were ignored in the theoretical analysis. At input signal power of 0 dBm, a gain of 14.5 dB is obtained experimentally with gain variation of less than 1 dB within the wavelength region from 1530 to 1565 nm. The noise figure is less than 12 dB within this region.  相似文献

Summary : Via geometrical micro- and nanostructures new functionalities like controlled wetting properties, biological adhesive / dehesive properties or surface patterns for guided self assembly can be added to polymer surfaces. This is especially interesting for medical or biotechnological applications, because there is no new approval process necessary. The whole process from producing the structures via EUV-interference lithography to the injection moulding will be shown. How far the limits for the smallness of these structures on polymers are already pushed forward show the results from our latest injection moulded samples. Grooves of 18 nm width - this means world record! - could be reproduced in an industrial process and in an economical very interesting high-volume production.  相似文献

In the present paper we state some approximation theorems concerning pointwise convergence and its rate for a class of non-convolution type nonlinear integral operators of the form:Tλ (f;x) = B A Kλ (t,x, f (t))dt , x ∈< a,b >, λ∈Λ. In particular, we obtain the pointwise convergence and its rate at some characteristic points x0 of f as (x,λ ) → (x0,λ0) in L1 < A,B >, where < a,b > and < A,B > are is an arbitrary intervals in R, Λ is a non-empty set of indices with a topology and λ0 an accumulation point of Λ in this topology. The purpose of this article is to study the local rate of convergence of the Chlodovsky operators (Cnf)(x). As the main results, we investigate their asymptotic behaviour and derive the complete asymptotic expansions of these operators. All the coefficients of n?k (k = 1, 2,…) are calculated in terms of the Stirling numbers of first and second kind. The two-machine flowshop scheduling problem to minimize makespan is addressed. Jobs have random processing times which are bounded within certain intervals. The distributions of job processing times are not known. This problem has been addressed in the literature with the assumption that setup times are included in processing times or are zero. In this paper, we relax this assumption and treat setup times as separate from processing times. We propose a polynomial time heuristic algorithm. Both Johnson algorithm and Yoshida and Hitomi algorithm, both of which developed for the deterministic problem, are special cases of the proposed algorithm. The heuristic algorithm uses a weighted average of lower and upper bounds for processing times. For different weights, the results of the proposed algorithm are compared based on randomly generated data. The computational analysis has shown that the proposed algorithm, with equal weights given to the lower and upper bounds, performs considerably well with an overall average error of 0.36%. The analysis has also shown that the proposed algorithm can safely be used regardless of processing time distributions and the range between lower and upper bounds.  相似文献

In situ formation of electroactive cobalt species for the oxygen evolution reaction is simply achieved by applying an anodic bias to a commercially available cobalt precursor and Nafion binder mixture coated on a glassy carbon electrode. This preparation does not require energy‐intensive materials preparation steps or noble metals, yet a low overpotential of 322 mV at 10.2 mA cm?2 and a high current density of more than 300 mA cm?2 at 1.7 VNHE were obtained in 1 m KOH. An operando electrochemical Raman spectroscopy study confirmed the formation of cobalt oxyhydroxide species and the iron stimulated the equilibrium state between Co3+ and Co4+. The iron present in the alkali electrolyte or ink solution effectively activated the cobalt species, and most of the first row transition metals could also enhance the catalytic performance. The concept presented here is one of the simplest strategies for preparing highly active electrocatalysts and is very flexible for the replacement of cobalt by other transition metals.  相似文献

An efficient erbium–ytterbium-doped fiber amplifier (EYDFA) is demonstrated by forward and backward pumping a 3 m erbium/ytterbium co-doped fibers (EYDF) in single- and double-pass configurations using a 20 mW pump. At the input signal wavelength of 1536 nm, the forward- and backward-pumped double-pass amplifiers achieved a maximum low-signal gain of 37.2 and 28.6 dB and a corresponding noise figure of 5.4 and 10.8 dB, respectively. Whereas, the forward- and backward-pumped single-pass amplifiers (at the same wavelength) achieved a maximum low-signal gain of 20.0 and 22.2 dB and a corresponding noise figure of 4.6 and 10.3 dB, respectively. The double-pass design offers an economical solution to high-efficiency and high-gain optical amplifiers.  相似文献

Nanosecond pulse generation in an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) passively mode-locked by a silver nanoparticle(SNP)-based saturable absorber(SA) is experimentally demonstrated. The SA is fabricated by depositing a nanosized SNP layer onto the surface of polyvinyl alcohol film through the thermal evaporation process. By inserting the SA into an EDFL cavity, stable mode-locked operation is achieved at 1561.5 nm with the maximum pulse energy up to 52.3 nJ. The laser operates at a pulse repetition frequency of 1.0 MHz with a pulse width of 202 ns. These results suggest that SNPs could be developed as an effective SA for mode-locking pulse generation.  相似文献

A simple all optical system for stopping and storing light pulses is demonstrated. The system consists of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA), and a fiber ring resonator. The results show that the multisoliton generation with a free spectrum range of 2.4 nm and a pulse spectral width of 0.96 nm is achieved. The memory time of 15 min and the maximum soliton output power of 5.94 dBm are noted, respectively. This means that light pulses can be trapped, i.e., stopped optically within the fiber ring resonator.  相似文献
