The sonochemical decomposition of a low concentration of butyric acid was performed in an aqueous solution by use of 200kHz ultrasound to discuss the reaction kinetics and molecular behavior during cavitation. Taking into account a Langmuir-type adsorption model, we propose a heterogeneous reaction kinetics model, which is based on the local reaction zone at the interface region of the cavitation bubbles, where the adsorption and desorption of butyric acid molecules from the bulk solution occur during bubble oscillation and then the existing molecules inside the local reaction zone are finally decomposed. To confirm our proposed kinetics model, the rates of decomposition were investigated as a function of the initial concentration of butyric acids in the different pH solutions. It was confirmed that our model could be reasonably applied to explain the obtained results and the pseudo rate constant (k) and the equilibrium constant (K) were able to be calculated: k is 8.0muMmin(-1) (pH 2) and 3.5muMmin(-1) (pH 10), and K is 5.7x10(-3)muM(-1) (pH 2) and 8.0x10(-3)muM(-1) (pH 10), respectively. By the analysis of the obtained K values, it was clear that the ionized organic acid molecules are relatively difficult to accumulate at the reaction zone, because of their lower hydrophobicity compared with that of the neutral ones. The results obtained in the sonochemical decomposition of benzoic acid were also able to be analyzed with the proposed kinetics model. In addition, we proposed an opinion toward the interpretation of a Langmuir-type adsorption model which has often been applied to explain heterogeneous reaction systems.  相似文献

Adsorption condition and enzymatic activity of glucose oxidase (GOD) on polystyrene (PS) film surfaces modified with ozone aeration and UV irradiation (O3/UV) treatment were investigated. The total amount of GOD immobilized on the PS film modified with the O3/UV treatment in distilled water (PS-W film) was approximately twice as large as that on the film treated in an aqueous ammonia solution (PS-A film), whereas the specific activity of GOD on the PS-A film was four times higher than that on the PS-W film. In contrast, no enzymatic activity of GOD on the non-treated PS film was observed because of irreversible denaturation of the adsorbed GOD. We therefore conclude that the PS films modified by the O3/UV treatment in the aqueous media are effective in immobilizing GOD.  相似文献

A novel acoustic-dispersion method for fine diamond particles was developed. Two samples of nanometer-sized diamond particles were used. They had primary particle sizes of 5 nm (ND5) and 150 nm (ND150). Disaggregation of agglomerated particles using ultrasound and surface modification of ND5 and ND150 were investigated. The ND5 and ND150 particles aggregated to secondary particles, having sizes on the order of micrometers. The surfaces of ND5 and ND150 particle were modified due to chemical reactions and the particles were disaggregated by acoustic cavitation. The ND5 particles were disaggregated to give an average particle size of about 100 nm by ultrasound exposure with average acoustic intensities higher than 800 W/m(2). The agglomerated ND150 particles with size of 15 microm were disaggregated to reach an average particle size of about 300 nm by ultrasound exposure with an average acoustic intensity higher than 2000 W/m(2). The surfaces of ND5 and ND150 particles were found to be modified with hydroxyl groups resulting from acoustic cavitation. This could lead to a well dispersed solution of nanometer-sized diamond particles in water.  相似文献

This paper proposes a practical measurement system for bidirectional reflectance distribution functions (BRDFs) of a three-dimensional (3D) object with a linear light source. Using the linear light source, the proposed system can reduce the number of image acquisitions which are necessary for an estimation of the spatially-varying BRDFs of the object. Furthermore, the size of the proposed system is much smaller than a conventional system which uses a parallel light. In this proposed system, the light field of the linear light source is previously measured to determine direction and radiance of incident rays to each point of the object, because the direction and radiance are not constant at each point. Using the proposed system, the BRDF of a point of flat objects was experimentally measured, and results showed validation of the estimation accuracy of the proposed system. Measurement efficiency of the proposed system was also evaluated by comparing reflectance model parameters estimated by the conventional and proposed systems. For the estimation, the reflectance function of a 3D object was measured by both systems. The estimation accuracy of the proposed method was also evaluated by comparing among a real image and rendered 3D objects of the conventional and proposed methods.  相似文献

[structure: see text] We have explored the diversity of secondary metabolites produced by cellular slime molds to examine the possible use of such cellular slime molds as a resource for novel drug development. A new aromatic amide, brefelamide (1), was isolated from methanol extracts of the fruiting bodies of Dictyostelium brefeldianum and D. giganteum. The structure of 1 was determined by spectral means including EIMS and (1)H and (13)C NMR. The total synthesis of 1 was carried out to confirm the structure and obtain sufficient samples for performing biological evaluation. Interestingly, compound 1 inhibited the cellular proliferation of 1321N1 human astrocytoma cells.  相似文献

The reaction of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) with a radical intermediate was investigated in the sonolysis of several organic solvents. The rate of the DPPH consumption in the sonolysis of methanol obeyed first-order kinetics at low concentrations of DPPH, while the rate became zero-order as the concentration of DPPH further increased. The radical trapping reactions of DPPH were found to be considerably slow compared with the formation of hydrogen molecules in the sonolysis of alcohols and hydrocarbons. These results indicate that H atoms formed in the solvent sonolysis quickly react to form stable molecules such as hydrogen in the cavitation bubble and/or at the interface region. The rates of the DPPH consumption were strongly dependent on the vapor pressure and relative evaporation rate of the solvents. It was proposed that the optimum vapor pressure exists for an effective formation of radical species.  相似文献

In this research, we evaluate the visibility of age spot and freckle with changing the blood volume based on simulated spectral reflectance distribution and the actual facial color images, and compare these results. First, we generate three types of spatial distribution of age spot and freckle in patch-like images based on the simulated spectral reflectance. The spectral reflectance is simulated using Monte Carlo simulation of light transport in multi-layered tissue. Next, we reconstruct the facial color image with changing the blood volume. We acquire the concentration distribution of melanin, hemoglobin and shading components by applying the independent component analysis on a facial color image. We reproduce images using the obtained melanin and shading concentration and the changed hemoglobin concentration. Finally, we evaluate the visibility of pigmentations using simulated spectral reflectance distribution and facial color images. In the result of simulated spectral reflectance distribution, we found that the visibility became lower as the blood volume increases. However, we can see that a specific blood volume reduces the visibility of the actual pigmentations from the result of the facial color images.  相似文献
