Polycrystalline BaMnO3 ceramic powders were prepared using the conventional mixed oxide route accompanied with several milling processes. Single phase formation was verified by recording the X-ray diffraction pattern of the powder as well as sintered pellet at room temperature. Scanning electron micrograph and energy dispersive X-ray spectrum of cross-sectional view have shown that sintered pellet is highly porous and contains only Ba, Mn and O elements, respectively. Analysis of impedance spectroscopy was carried out via the complex impedance and complex modulus formalisms. These results have shown that BaMnO3 behave as semiconducting material. Furthermore, as a consequence of electrically inhomogeneous nature of the sample, it was observed that the electroactive regions (such as grain, grain boundary and sample-electrode interface) are overlapped in the applied frequency domain with dominant grain boundary effect. An equivalent circuit model (R g C g)(R gb Q gb)(R e Q e) was employed to fit the temperature dependent impedance spectroscopy data. Study of grain and grain boundary conductivities suggest that grains are more conductive than grain boundaries and conduction mechanism followed correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model. 相似文献

Imperatorin (mol. formula = C16H14O4, mol. mass = 270) micro-crystals were isolated from ethyl acetate extract of the root parts of the plant Prangos pabularia. The composition related structural, spectral, and thermal properties were investigated. All the crystals were found to have single phase with orthorhombic structure. UV–Visible spectrum showed both direct forbidden transition and indirect allowed transition. The calculated optical band gaps (E g) were 3.64 and 3.70 eV for direct forbidden and indirect allowed transitions, respectively. From the thermal studies of these crystals, melting point, stability, and other relevant information was obtained, ensuring the suitability of the material for application in any device where the crystals may have to withstand this range of temperature. 相似文献

Plants are under constant assault by biotic and abiotic agents. When an elicitor is prologued, an immense reprogramming of plant gene expression and defense responses are initiated, which could be a natural source for potential drug development and insertional mutagenesis. In this regard, differential expression analysis of a medicinal plant Moringa oleifera was performed for bioactive genes at seedling stage, using differential display-RT-PCR technique. Infected seedlings with a fungus Fusarium solani collected at different time intervals, showed a massive change in their gene expression profile. The data analysis revealed that at least 150 pathogen-induced and about 60 suppressed genes were differentially expressed at 8-h postinoculation of the biotic stress. Fifty-five selective genes were disunited and reamplified. Sequence analysis of these potential genes illustrated that these genes had properties of some induced peroxidase mRNA, cell proliferation, others were mitogen activated protein kinases, ribosomal protein genes, defense regulating genes, and a few also had structural properties. Further studies about the utility of these genes in plant metabolism could assist to develop improved transgenic breeds with enhanced value of infection tolerance not only of M. oleifera but of other cultivars also. 相似文献

The phytochemical investigations on Cleome droserifolia resulted in the isolation and characterization of a new indole alkaloid, 5‐hydroxy‐2‐methoxy‐1‐methyl‐1H‐indole‐3‐carbaldehyde ( 1 ). The structure elucidation was carried out on the basis of 1D‐ and 2D‐NMR techniques. In addition to 1 , two known aromatic derivatives, veratrol ( 2 ) and 2‐methoxy‐4‐methylacetophenone ( 3 ), were also obtained. All these compounds were purified by repeated column chromatography of the CH2Cl2 fraction obtained from MeOH extract of Cleome droserifolia. The structure of the new compound 1 was finally confirmed by the combined 1D (1H‐ and 13C‐) and 2D (H? C correlations; HMBC and HSQC) NMR and IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS), and UV absorption spectroscopy techniques. The comparison of the physical and spectroscopic data with those in the literature provided evidence for the structure confirmation of known compounds. All the purified compounds were subjected to urease and α‐glucosidase enzymes inhibition. The results showed that compound 1 was more potent with an IC50 value 11.97±2.067 μg/ml towards urease inhibition, while the activity of α‐glucosidase enzyme was marginal. 相似文献
