This paper describes the preparation and characterization of a high-voltage lithium-ion battery based on Sn-decorated reduced graphene oxide and LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 as the anode and cathode active materials, respectively. The Sn-decorated reduced graphene oxide is prepared using a microwave-assisted hydrothermal synthesis method followed by reduction at high temperature of a mixture of (C6H5)2SnCl2 and graphene oxide. The so-obtained anode material is characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and electron diffraction spectroscopy. The LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 is a commercially available product. The two materials are used to prepare composite electrodes, and their electrochemical properties are investigated by galvanostatic charge/discharge cycles at various current densities in lithium cells. The electrodes are then used to assemble a high-voltage lithium-ion cell, and the cell is tested to evaluate its performance as a function of discharge rate and cycle number.  相似文献

We have investigated the nature of didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB)/water aggregates dispersed in 4-n-pentyl-4'-cyanobiphenyl thermotropic liquid crystal (5CB). The structure of this microemulsion has been probed by small-angle neutron and X-ray scattering experiments far above the nematic-to-isotropic phase transition temperature of the solvent. Our data show that the stability of this system is controlled by strong attractive van der Waals interactions between spherical inverted micelles. These interactions also explain why other swollen mesophases in related cosurfactant/DDAB/water/5CB phase diagrams are not observed. When approaching the isotropic-to-nematic phase transition, scattering experiments additionally confirm the predominance of an increasing attractive interaction due to the 5CB paranematic fluctuations.  相似文献

In this paper we report an experimental investigation on the dynamics of the azimuthal director reorientation at a nematic-solid interface. Three qualitatively different kinds of substrates have been investigated: I) intrinsically anisotropic SiO-substrates (-evaporation), II) isotropic SiO-substrates (-evaporation) and III) rubbed PVA-substrates. In the case II), an in-plane anisotropy was induced cooling slowly the thermotropic nematic liquid crystal (NLC) from the isotropic phase in the presence of a 0.75 T magnetic field. The reorientation dynamic of the surface azimuthal director angle at the switching-on and off of a magnetic (or electric) field has been investigated. All the substrates show comparable azimuthal anchoring energies and two dynamic regimes: a fast dynamic response, driven by the bulk director reorientation and an extremely slow reorientation. The slow dynamics is explained in terms of anisotropic adsorption of NLC molecules on the solid substrate and is well represented by a stretched exponential. Received 7 December 1998  相似文献

The problem of two circular wellbores of different size in a poroelastic medium is considered in the present work. The constitutive behaviour of the poroelastic medium is assumed to comply with the classical Biot model for isotropic porous materials infiltrated by compressible fluid. The wellbores are assumed infinitely long and the fluid flow is taken stationary, thus making it possible to perform a plane strain analysis. Owing to the geometrical layout of the system, bipolar cylindrical coordinates have been adopted. Three different sets of BCs on the pressure field and on the fluid flux have been considered, founding the corresponding forms of the pressure field. Based on Helmholtz representation, a displacement potential has been introduced, and the corresponding stress field in the poroelastic medium has been assessed. However, such a solution does not satisfy the BCs at the edges of the wells. Then, an auxiliary stress function, which allows accomplishing the BCs, is introduced, leading to the complete solution of the problem. The cases of two coaxial wellbores (eccentric annulus), a single hole bored in a poroelastic half plane and two intersecting holes have been considered also. The proposed approach allows evaluating the pore pressure and the stress and strain fields in the system varying the amplitude of the wells and the physical parameters of the porous material. In particular, the evaluation of the peak values of the stress components around the circular boreholes plays a key role in a variety of engineering contexts, with particular reference to the stability analysis of wellbores and tunnels and failure of vascular vessels in biological tissues.  相似文献

Smectic shells     
Confining a smectic liquid crystal between two spherical surfaces results in the formation of a complex defect structure characterized by a set of curvature walls that divide the sphere into crescent domains, causing the undulation of the smectic layers. In this paper, we examine in detail these smectic textures and discuss the various possible origins of the observed patterns.  相似文献

A new type of hybrid material is prepared through sol-gel processing by the polycondensation of (MeO)3Si–R–Si(OMe)3 units containing a rigid organic anisotropic group R. The hybrid covalently bounded organic-inorganic gel shows an unexpected structural birefringence n (n = 2 × 10–3). This birefringence is induced by a strain field anisotropy during gel aging as revealed by simultaneous dynamic light scattering and birefringence measurements. To better address the role of the strain field, we use a free interface sol-gel/air to control strain anisotropy and to measure the gel optical axis and its birefringence. We find that the birefringence is associated to a long-range orientational order of organic moieties induced by the strain anisotropy during the gel aging.  相似文献
