The grafting of trialkoxysilane molecules should also give rise to the formation of a siloxane network at the substrate's surface when trialkoxysilanes are used. Other candidates that might be able to act as adhesion promoters at metallic surfaces are dimethylalkoxysilanes. The advantage of dimethylalkoxysilanes is that only one silanol group is produced during the hydrolysis step, leading to the formation of a grafted monolayer onto the steel. Moreover, the chemical grafting of stainless steel, which exhibits a low surface reactivity, is of great interest for industrial applications such as adhesive bonding or coatings. The objective of this work was to chemically graft dimethylalkoxysilanes onto AISI 316L stainless steel and to analyze the grafted layer by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Investigation of the hydrolysis of these molecules in aqueous solutions was also performed by proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H NMR). The grafting of 3‐(ethoxydimethylsilyl)propylamine (APDES) and 3‐glycidoxypropyldimethylethoxysilane (GPDES) was achieved onto stainless steel after a controlled hydrolysis reaction. A pH inferior or equal to 5 was necessary to obtain a sufficient hydrolysis of silanes. XPS results have evidenced the grafting of the silanes onto stainless steel. The signal of the Si 2p peak clearly showed the formation of a covalent bond between APDES and the stainless steel surface through the O atoms giving rise to a uniform layer of adsorbed molecules. Moreover, this grafted layer is strongly stable as no removal of the alkoxysilane was observed after immersion in hot water which is very critical for these molecules. The combination of the copper-catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction with sol–gel processing enables the versatile preparation of sol–gel materials under different shapes with targeted functionalities through a diversity-oriented approach. In this account, the development of the CuAAC reaction under anhydrous conditions for the synthesis of sol–gel precursors and for the assembling of magnetic nanoparticles on self-assembled monolayers is related, as well as the use of the classical CuAAC methodologies for the functionalization of mesoporous silica nanoparticles and microdots arrays. The functionalization of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles by poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) brush is completed by the combination of a mussel inspired biomimetic anchoring group and Huisgen cyclo‐addition “click chemistry.” Herein, the direct coupling of an azide modified catechol derivative with an alkyne end‐functionalized P3HT is described. This macromolecular binding agent is used to access core@corona ZnO@P3HT with a stable and homogeneous conjugated organic corona. Preliminary photoluminescence measurement proves an efficient electron transfer from the donor P3HT to the acceptor ZnO nanoparticles upon grafting, thus demonstrating the potential of such a combination in organic electronics.

We report on an improved synthesis and structural characterization of the cyclic 48-tungsto–8-arsenate(V) [H4As8W48O184]36? (1). The mixed lithium–potassium salt of this polyanion, K26.5Li9.5[H4As8W48O184]·90H2O (KLi-1), has been studied in the solid state by IR, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and elemental analysis, and in solution by 183W NMR spectroscopy. 相似文献

A new conductometric enzyme-based biosensor was developed for the determination of formaldehyde (FA) in aqueous solutions. The biosensor was prepared by cross-linking formaldehyde dehydrogenase from Pseudomonas putida with bovine serum albumin in saturated glutaraldehyde vapours (GA) at the surface of interdigitated gold microelectrodes. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide cofactor (NAD+) was added in solution at each measurement to maintain enzyme activity. Addition of a Nafion layer over the enzyme modified electrode resulted in a significant increase of biosensor signal due to enhanced accumulation of protons generated by enzymatic reaction at the electrode surface. Different parameters affecting enzyme activity or playing a role in ionic transfer through the Nafion membrane were optimised. In optimal conditions (0.045 mg enzyme, 30 min exposure to GA, 0.3 μL of a 1 % (v/v) Nafion solution deposit, measurement in 5 mM phosphate buffer pH 7 containing 20 μM NAD+), the biosensor signal was linear up to 10 mM FA, and the detection limit was 18 μM. Relative standard deviations calculated from five consecutive replicates of FA solutions were lower than 5 % in the 1–10 mM range. The biosensor was successfully applied to the determination of FA in spiked water samples (tap water and Rhone river water), with recoveries in the 95–110 % range. Figure

POCIS (polar organic chemical integrative samplers) are increasingly used for sampling polar compounds. Although very efficient for a wide range of pollutants, the classic configuration of the device has a number of limitations, in particular for the sampling of highly polar analytes and hydrophobic compounds. This study presents a new version of the POCIS passive sampler which uses a highly porous Nylon membrane of 30 μm pore size, enabling the sampling of hydrophobic pollutants and improving the accumulation rate of other pollutants. This newly designed tool and the classic POCIS were both tested during a laboratory experiment to evaluate the accumulation kinetics of a selection of pesticides and pharmaceuticals. The observed results show unexpected accumulation kinetics for the new version of POCIS. To explain the data, the use of an intraparticulate diffusion model was required, which also enabled us to propose another explanation of the burst effect observed with the classic POCIS, primarily related to the potential wetting of the device as the first step in the accumulation of compounds.
