Efficient stirring is needed to realize heat flow analysis with a thermally homogeneous medium. Because dispersion polymerization with supercritical fluids can be destabilized under stirring, a preliminary target has been to find a compromise between synthesis and basic reaction calorimetry requirements. This paper describes the use of poly (dimethylsiloxane) macromonomer with a molecular weight 5000 g/mol as stabilizer for the dispersion polymerization of methyl methacrylate in supercritical carbon dioxide. The effect of stirring speed and stabilizer concentration has been examined. This study has shown that poly (methyl methacrylate) can be produced at high yield and molecular weight using 10 wt% (respect to monomer) poly (dimethylsiloxane) macromonomer at stirring speeds up to 600 rpm. A polymerization enthalpy of −57.6±2 kJ/mol has been calculated being in good agreement with previously reported data. Thus, preliminary results for the heat balance using the newly developed high pressure reaction calorimeter for supercritical fluid applications have shown the important potential of reaction calorimetry to promote supercritical fluid technologies at industrial scale allowing for the determination of kinetics and thermodynamic and safety data, respectively. 相似文献

A series of new rotaxanes with axles different in length was prepared. Following the synthetic protocol utilizing a known anion template effect (Scheme 1), surprisingly low yields in the order of 2–5% were obtained (Scheme 3), which furthermore significantly depended on the nature of the stopper (Fig. 1). Variations in the synthetic procedures and computational results from Monte Carlo simulations allowed us to analyze the origin of these findings: The rotaxane wheel 3 acts as a noncovalently bound ‘protecting group' for the stopper nucleophile. The protection of the nucleophilic phenolate O‐atom depends much on the steric demands of the stoppers (see 2 vs. 10 ) which induce different conformations of the wheel. Based on this model, an improved synthetic scheme is suggested. 相似文献

Biaryls play an important role in modern organic chemistry. Although a large number of protocols for the synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical biaryls already exist, most of them are not generally applicable. In our studies toward the total synthesis of the secalonic acids, we were interested in bis(pinacolato)diboron as a reagent for transforming haloarenes into arylboronic esters. By optimizing the reaction conditions, we were able to obtain biaryls containing various functional groups in good to excellent yields. 相似文献

In this paper a proof of existence and non-existence of theconically self-similar free-vortex solutions to the Navier-Stokesequations, originally found by Yih et al. (1982, Phys. Fluids.25, 2147-2158), is presented. This proof clearly establishesthat these solutions do not have any kind of singularity atthe symmetry axis. This analysis gives considerably improvedexistence and non-existence bounds and it is shown that thesebounds are close to optimal in the low-swirling limit. Thisapproach links the questions of existence and non-existencefor the swirling case and for the non-swirling case. The proof,which is an extension of techniques developed by Serrin (1972,Phil. Trans. R. Soc. Lond. 271, 325-360), is based on Schauder'sFixed Point Theorem and is, therefore, non-constructive. Therefore,the paper ends with a brief discussion of the question of howto compute the conically self-similar free-vortex solutionsto the Navier-Stokes equations. 相似文献
