Neutron diffraction and M?ssbauer measurements have been carried out on the cubic Laves phase intermetallic TbMnFe. The magnetic moment on the transition metal atom is found to be low, 0.2μ B, at room temperature. This moment is temperature independent down to 10 K. Magnetic moment on the rare earth atom varies from 2.5μ B at 296 K to 7.27μ B at 10 K. M?ssbauer spectra recorded at 298 K and 78 K have magnetic character but there is a large distribution of hyperfine field values. Both these features arise due to magnetic frustration created in the sample due to the competing ferro and antiferromagnetic interactions between the transition metal atoms.  相似文献

Although electronics technologies have made great advances in device speed, optical devices can function in the time domain inaccessible to electronics. In the time domain less than 1 ps, optical devices have no competition. Photonic or optical devices are designed to switch and process light signals without converting them to electronic form. The major advantages that these devices offer are speed and preservation of bandwidth. The switching is accomplished through changes in refractive index of the material that are proportional to the light intensity. The third-order optical susceptibility, χ(3), known as the optical Kerr susceptibility which is related to the non-linear part of the total refractive index, is the nonlinearity which provides this particular feature. Future opportunities in photonic switching and information processing will depend critically on the development of improved photonic materials with enhanced Kerr susceptibilities, as these materials are still in a relatively early stage of development. Different glass systems are now under investigation to increase their nonlinearity by introducing a variety of modifiers into the glass-network. Ion implantation is an attractive method for inducing colloid formation at a high local concentration unattainable by the melt-glass fabrication process and for confining the non-linearities to specific patterned regions in a variety of host matrices. Recent works on metal-ion implanted colloid generation in bulk fused silica glasses have shown that these nanocluster-glass composites under favourable circumstances have significant enhancement of χ(3) with picosecond to femtosecond temporal responses.  相似文献

We study the black hole solution in Einstein-Maxwell-Gauss-Bonnet (EMGB) gravity theory with a cosmological constant in five dimension. It is a generalization of the Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter (RNdS) or RNAdS (Reissner-Nordström-Anti-de Sitter) black hole solutions (according as the cosmological constant is positive or negative) in the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (EGB) theory. We analyze the thermodynamic quantities of EMGB black hole and find a restriction involving the charge and the cosmological constant for the existence of an extremal black hole. Finally, Hawking-Page phase transition has been discussed for the present black hole.  相似文献

This paper aims to provide the performance characteristics of proposed, strain balanced direct band gap multiple quantum wells (MQWs) hetero phototransistor (HPT) made of SiGeSn/GeSn alloys grown on Si substrate which is compatible with recent CMOS fabrication technology. This also presents a comprehensive comparison of this proposed structure with the existing HPT structure made of indirect gap Ge/SiGe MQWs. Alloys of Ge and Sn grown on Si platform shows about tenfold increase in absorption over Ge at C and L-bands due to direct nature of band gap in GeSn. Initial work begins the solution of continuity equation to solve the different terminal current densities and optical gain of the multiple quantum well structure. Main analysis was concentrated on finding the external quantum efficiency depending on the doping variations of emitter and base, base width etc. Finally the photocurrent density variations are estimated for the structure and compared with existing indirect band gap HPT. The calculated values for direct band gap GeSn HPT device are found to be comparable with those for indirect band gap SiGe device to flourish as a potential candidate of photo detectors for the present day telecommunication network.  相似文献

This paper aims at introducing an automated approach to leukocyte recognition using fuzzy divergence and modified thresholding techniques. The recognition is done through the segmentation of nuclei where Gamma, Gaussian and Cauchy type of fuzzy membership functions are studied for the image pixels. It is in fact found that Cauchy leads better segmentation as compared to others. In addition, image thresholding is modified for better recognition. Results are studied and discussed.  相似文献

This work presents an investigation on the doubly excited 1S e autoionizing states of screened helium atom lying below the n = 4 threshold of the He+ ion. The potential generated in this system is represented by a Yukawa type potential. We have employed complex-coordinate rotation method, as it is a powerful scheme to study high lying resonances. Hylleraas type wave function is used to consider the correlation effect between all the charged particles. Our resonance parameters for the resonances lying below the He+ (n = 2) threshold agree well with those of the existing calculations by using the stabilization method. Resonances associated with higher thresholds are new calculations. All the present results are well converged with basis length N = 444.  相似文献

We analyze the screening of an external Coulomb charge in gapless graphene cone, which is taken as a prototype of a topological defect. In the subcritical regime, the induced charge is calculated using both the Green’s function and the Friedel sum rule. The dependence of the polarization charge on the Coulomb strength obtained from the Green’s function clearly shows the effect of the conical defect and indicates that the critical charge itself depends on the sample topology. Similar analysis using the Friedel sum rule indicates that the two results agree for low values of the Coulomb charge but differ for the higher strengths, especially in the presence of the conical defect. For a given subcritical charge, the transport cross-section has a higher value in the presence of the conical defect. In the supercritical regime we show that the coefficient of the power law tail of polarization charge density can be expressed as a summation of functions which vary log periodically with the distance from the Coulomb impurity. The period of variation depends on the conical defect. In the presence of the conical defect, the Fano resonances begin to appear in the transport cross-section for a lower value of the Coulomb charge. For both sub and supercritical regime we derive the dependence of LDOS on the conical defect. The effects of generalized boundary condition on the physical observables are also discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

Effective extraction of phyto-biomolecules insures retaining maximum functionality along with higher recovery. In this study, ultrasound-solvent assisted extraction (USAE) was employed for optimal extraction of phyto-biomolecules from Sesamum indicum (sesame) leaves using the approach of Response Surface Methodology (RSM). The optimized condition of 200?W power, 59% methanol concentration with 1:14?g/mL solid–liquid ratio and 15?min of extraction time yielded 367.39?±?1.85?mg GAE/100?g of total phenolic content, 96.72?±?3.27% of free radical scavenging activity and 81.20?±?2.87% of iron chelating activity respectively. The extract consist of essential phytocomponents like gallic acid, chlorogenic acid, and quercetin with lipid peroxidation activities of >50% over incubation time of 48?h. Also, showed antimicrobial activity against various Gram’s negative and positive food borne pathogens. The results of this study implied the importance of USAE for effective and optimum recovery of phyto-biomolecules from Sesame leaves with retained functional properties.  相似文献

We show that a possible resolution to the stabilization of an extra spatial dimension (radion) can be obtained solely in the context of gravitational dynamics itself without the necessity of introducing any external stabilizing field. In this scenario the stabilized value of the radion field gets determined in terms of the parameters appearing in the higher curvature gravitational action. Furthermore, the mass of the radion field and its coupling to the standard model fields are found to be in the weak scale implying possible signatures in the TeV scale colliders. Some resulting implications are also discussed.  相似文献

We investigate exact solution in higher dimensional Husain model for a null fluid source with pressure p and density ρ are related by the following relations (i) p  =  kρ, (ii) (variable modified Chaplygin) and (iii) p  =  kρα (polytropic). We have studied the nature of singularity in gravitational collapse for the above equations of state and also for different choices of the of the parameters k and B namely, (i) k  =  0, B  =  constant (generalized Chaplygin), (ii) B  =  constant (modified Chaplygin). It is found that the nature of singularity is independent of these choices of different equation of state except for variable Chaplygin model. Choices of various parameters are shown in tabular form. Finally, matching of Szekeres model with exterior Husain space–time is done.  相似文献
