Eine einfache apparative Anordnung zur emissionsspektroskopischen 15N-Bestimmung im Mikromaßstab

A simple device for emission-spectroscopic ¹⁵N determination with photoelectric recording is described. The nitrogen is stimulated for light emission in glass tubes between capacitor plates of an oscillator circuit. The frequency is regulated to 13.9 MHz by means of a high frequency generator (DX-60, Heathkit) with an effective power of 15–20 W. The dispersion and detection of the emitted light is performed by a Zeiss Spectrophotometer PMQ II, used with a wave-length scanner and a recorder.     

Thermally driven acoustic oscillations,part V: Gas-liquid oscillations

Summary Thermally driven gas oscillations are considered which drive a liquid column at the cold open end. The frequency of the oscillations is lowered by the inertia of the liquid and the Stokes boundary layer is thick. Optimal conditions for thermal driving in the gas occur at correspondingly big tube radii. Experiments conducted inN ₂ confirm the theoretically calculated stability limits. With hot air driving a water column, a low critical temperature ratio for the oscillations of about 1.5 was observed.

Zusammenfassung Thermisch getriebene akustische Schwingungen werden untersucht die eine Flüssigkeitssäule am kalten offenen Ende antreiben. Die Frequenz der Schwingungen wird durch die Trägheit der Flüssigkeit vermindert und die Stokes'sche Grenzschicht ist dick. Die optimalen Bedingungen für thermisch getriebene Schwingungen im Gas werden bei entsprechend höheren Rohr-Radien auftreten. Experimente mitN ₂ haben die theoretisch berechneten Stabilitätsgrenzen bestätigt. Bei einer Anordnung, in der heisse Luft eine Wassersäule angetrieben hat, wurde ein tiefes kritisches Temperaturverhältnis von etwa 1.5 beobachtet.

     

Study of proton dissociation into ΛK+ in 3-body final states at 10 and 16 GeV/c

Results are presented for p → (ΛK⁺) dissociation in the reactions K^?p → ΛK⁺K^? and and π^±p → ΛK⁺π^±at 10 and 16 GeV/c. The cross sections for the low-mass ΛK⁺ enhancement are compatible with the energy dependence σ ∝ p_lab^?0.3. The t′ spectra or the (ΛK⁺) threshold enhancement are exponential in shape. Its decay angular distribution reveals neither s-channel nor t-channel helicity conservation. The relative probabilities of the processes $\text{p}\text{→}\text{p, p}\text{→ (}\text{N}\text{π)}{}_{\mathrm{<mtext>I=</mtext><mtext>1</mtext><mtext>2</mtext>}}\text{and p}\text{→ (Λ}\text{K}{}^{\mathrm{+}}\text{)}$ dissociation are in the ratios 100 : 10 : 0.2, independent of the nature of the incident particle.
