We discuss lifting and reduction problems for bundles and gerbes in the context of a Lie 2-group. We obtain a geometrical formulation (and a new proof) for the exactness of Breen’s long exact sequence in non-abelian cohomology. We use our geometrical formulation in order to define a transgression map in non-abelian cohomology. This transgression map relates the degree one non-abelian cohomology of a smooth manifold (represented by non-abelian gerbes) with the degree zero non-abelian cohomology of the free loop space (represented by principal bundles). We prove several properties for this transgression map. For instance, it reduces–in case of a Lie 2-group with a single object–to the ordinary transgression in ordinary cohomology. We describe applications of our results to string manifolds: first, we obtain a new comparison theorem for different notions of string structures. Second, our transgression map establishes a direct relation between string structures and spin structures on the loop space.  相似文献

NMR relaxometry has been applied to study hydrating cements for about 25 years now. The most important advantage over other experimental approaches is the possibility to conduct non-destructive measurements with a time resolution of minutes. NMR relaxometry data thus can help to identify details in the time course of cement hydration that possibly would be overlooked in other experiments with lower temporal resolution. Time-resolved information on cement hydration kinetics can provide interesting insights into the impact of oxidic additive materials on cement hydration. For PbO, a very strong delay was observed which then was systematically studied. An explanation for this delay is suggested.  相似文献

The first crystal structure of the lithium complex of a P-alkyl-P,P-diphenyl(N-methoxycarbonyl)phosphazene has been characterized. It is dimeric, with the anion chelating the lithium in an unusual six-membered ring. A monomer-dimer equilibrium has been identified in THF solution. Ab initio calculations indicated that the six-membered ring is electronically favored over an alternative Li-C-P-N four-membered ring.  相似文献

The first fluorescent material for the referenced simultaneous RGB (red green blue) imaging of barometric pressure (oxygen partial pressure) and temperature is presented. This sensitive coating consists of two platinum(II) complexes as indicators and a reference dye, each of which is incorporated in appropriate polymer nanoparticles. These particles are dispersed in a polyurethane hydrogel and spread onto a solid support. The emission of the (oxygen) pressure indicator, PtTFPP, matches the red channel of a RGB color camera, whilst the emission of the temperature indicator [PtII(Br‐thq)(acac)] matches the green channel. The reference dye, 9,10‐diphenylanthracene, emits in the blue channel. In contrast to other dual‐sensitive materials, this new coating allows for the simultaneous imaging of both indicator signals, as well as the reference signal, in one RGB color picture without having to separate the signals with additional optical filters. All of these dyes are excitable with a 405 nm light‐emitting diode (LED). With this new composite material, barometric pressure can be determined with a resolution of 22 mbar; the temperature can be determined with a resolution of 4.3 °C.  相似文献

The reactions between K5Bi4, [(C6H6)Cr(CO)3] or [(C7H8)Mo(CO)3], and [2.2.2]crypt in liquid ammonia yielded the compounds [K([2.2.2]crypt)]33‐Bi3)M(CO)3 · 10NH3 (M = Cr, Mo), which crystallize isostructurally in P21/n. Both contain an 18 valence electron piano‐stool complex with a η3‐coordinated Bi3‐ring ligand. The Bi–Bi distances range from 2.9560(5) to 2.9867(3) Å and are slightly shorter than known Bi–Bi single bonds but longer than Bi–Bi double bonds. The newly found compounds complete the family of similar complexes with E3‐ring ligands (E = P‐Bi).  相似文献

We studied the effect of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) on the extrusion of large, multilamellar nanocapsules (also called liposomes or vesicles) through nanochannels with a length of 6 microm. For the generation of the nanocapsules, we used a lipid mixture with lecithin consisting of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids (dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and dioleoylphosphatidylcholine (DOPC)), cholesterol, and 2-8 mol % PEG linked to a lipid anchor (distearoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DSPE)) or the plain lipid anchor without PEG. An increase in PEG leads to a decrease of the critical tension for nanocapsule rupture (lysis tension) between 20-30%, whereas the pure lipid anchor does not produce any differences. We interpret these findings to be produced by a partial intrusion of the polymeric chain into the phospholipid bilayer of the nanocapsule which weakens its tensile strength. We evaluate statistically the discrepancies of lysis tensions found for different channels widths (50-100 nm) and two or four channels in series. Comparing our results on the flow resistance of either nanocapsules or pure water with lubrication theory, we find that the calculated viscous forces are not sufficient to account for the measured friction of nanocapsules. This shows that the nanocapsules are decelerated in the nanochannels by van der Waals interactions between channel and capsule walls and the intermediate water layer. The strength of these forces is 24 times higher for PEG and 94 times higher for the pure lipid anchor than the respective calculated viscous forces alone, showing that nanocapsule flow in nanochannels cannot be considered under the classical continuum assumption of the intermediate water layer.  相似文献

We report on the first unambiguous detection of the elusive [HSi9]3? anion in solutions of liquid ammonia by various 29Si and 1H NMR experiments including chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST). The characteristic multiplicity patterns of both the 29Si and 1H resonances together with CEST and a partially reduced 1H,29Si coupling constant indicate the presence of a highly dynamic Si8 entity and a Si?H moiety with slow proton hopping. Theoretical calculations corroborate both reorganization of Si8 on the picosecond timescale via low vibrational modes and proton hopping. In addition, in a single‐crystal X‐ray study of (K(DB[18]crown‐6))(K([2.2.2]crypt))2[ HSi9 ]?8.5 NH3, the H atom was unequivocally localized at one vertex of the basal square of the monocapped square‐antiprismatic cluster. Thus experimental studies and theoretical considerations provide unprecedented insight into both the structure and the dynamic behavior of these cluster anions, which hitherto had been considered to be rigid.  相似文献

For the electron acceptor/donor molecule N-phenylpyrrole (PP), the fast intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) reaction accompanied by dual fluorescence from a locally excited (LE) and an ICT state is investigated in alkyl cyanide solvents as a function of temperature. After a comparison of the X-ray crystal structure of PP with calculations from the literature, absorption and fluorescence spectra of PP in a series of solvents over a wide polarity range are discussed. ICT with PP strongly depends on solvent polarity and starts to appear in solvents more polar than diethyl ether. From an analysis of the ICT/LE fluorescence quantum yield ratio Phi'(ICT)/Phi(LE), approximate data for the change in enthalpy -DeltaH of the ICT reaction of PP are obtained, ranging from 9 kJ/mol in acetonitrile (MeCN) to 4 kJ/mol in n-butyl cyanide (BuCN). From ICT and LE fluorescence decays of PP measured as a function of temperature, the forward (Ea = 9 kJ/mol in ethyl cyanide (EtCN) and 6 kJ/mol in MeCN) and backward (Ed = 16 kJ/mol in EtCN and MeCN) ICT reaction barriers are determined. From these data, -Delta H (7 kJ/mol (EtCN); 10 kJ/mol (MeCN)) is calculated, in good agreement with the results coming from Phi'(ICT)/Phi(LE). The data for Ea show that the forward ICT barrier becomes smaller with increasing solvent polarity, whereas the absence of change for Ed comes from the compensating increase of -DeltaH. Both observations are indicative of a late transition state for the LE --> ICT reaction. For PP in EtCN and MeCN, the ICT radiative rate constant k'(f)(ICT) increases with temperature. This is caused by the ICT low transition dipole moment and hence does not contain information on the molecular structure (twisted or planar) of the ICT state. The fast ICT observed with PP supports our previous conclusion, based on a comparison of PP with its planarized derivative fluorazene, that the pyrrole and phenyl moieties in the ICT state of PP are coplanar and possess substantial electronic coupling.  相似文献
