The first direct measurement of the mutual coherence function of a spatially incoherent infrared beam was performed at 10.6 μm
using a pair of infrared dipole nano-wire antennas that were connected to a common bolometer in the center of the pair by
short lengths of coplanar strip transmission line. A spatially incoherent source was constructed by dithering a BaF2 diffuser
near the focus of a CO2 laser beam. The distance from the diffuser to the nano-wire antenna pair was held constant while the
distance from the focus of the laser beam to the diffuser was varied to control the effective diameter of the source. The
measured bolometer signal was proportional to the magnitude of the mutual coherence function at the plane of the antennas.
The experimental results were found to match the predicted performance closely. If this technology can be extended to large
arrays, a form of synthetic aperture optical imaging based on the Van Cittert-Zernike theorem is possible, similar to that
performed at microwave frequencies now by astronomers. This has the potential to greatly increase the angular resolution attainable

The carbon stable isotope content of Cornelian cherry stones collected from wild tree stands in Serbia, SE Europe, was measured using elemental analyser-isotope ratio mass spectrometry, with the aim of recording natural carbon isotope composition of the fruit stones and its possible variation. The results show a significant variation in the carbon isotope values; we identified several environmental factors that, along with a number of other possible determinants, likely contributed to this variation. The obtained data are compared with the measurement of carbon isotope content of an archaeological specimen of Cornelian cherry stone discovered at the Neolithic site of Vin?a (ca. 5600–4500 BC) in Serbia. Notwithstanding the limitedness of the data and the complexity surrounding carbon fractionation and the isotopic variation, it is suggested that the differences/similarities in carbon isotope ratios between modern and archaeological Cornelian cherry stones, when measured for much larger assemblages, could potentially offer a glimpse into growing conditions of Cornelian cherry trees in the past. 相似文献

The Maxwell–Liouville–von Neumann (MLN) equations are a valuable tool in nonlinear optics in general and to model quantum cascade lasers in particular. Several numerical methods to solve these equations with different accuracy and computational complexity have been proposed in related literature. We present an open-source framework for solving the MLN equations and parallel implementations of three numerical methods using OpenMP. An indication for the mutual influence of LDPE and PP was the change of the morphology parameters of PE and PP at different ratios of the polymers in blends. That influence depends on the blend composition and is different for PE and PP. It is especially interesting in the blend PE75/PP25 where the influence between PE and PP shows dependence also on the sample geometry. Melting parameters, non-isothermal crystallization parameters - crystallization peak temperature Tc, crystallization begin temperature Tonset, half-width w1/2 of the crystallization peak, degree of crystallinity α and crystallization rate coefficient CRC, as well as the isothermal kinetics parameters showed dependence on the blend composition. It was established that PE is more stable then PP concerning the mutual influence of both polymers on their crystallization. An experimental study was conducted to investigate the rheological behaviour and extrudate swell of polyolefin blends based on two grades of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and an isotactic polypropylene (i-PP). Blending was carried out on a twin-screw extruder “Brabender” at different composition ratios in the temperature range from 140 to 190°C. The LDPE/i-PP blends mixed with 0.5 wt.% blowing agent were extruded by means of “Brabender” extrusiograph at melt temperature of 200°C and different extrusion rates. The influence of composition content on the viscosity and extrudate swell was considered. The foam structure and morphology are discussed in terms of shear rate, molecular characteristics and composition content. The presence of layered structure was observed: an outer smectic layer and an inner partially crystalline layer. The thickness of smectic layer and size of spherulites were determined. 相似文献
