Nowadays, the use of hybrid structures and multi-component materials is gaining ground in the fields of environmental protection, water treatment and removal of organic pollutants. This study describes promising, cheap and photoactive self-supported hybrid membranes as a possible solution for wastewater treatment applications. In the course of this research work, the photocatalytic performance of titania nanowire (TiO2 NW)-based hybrid membranes in the adsorption and degradation of methylene blue (MB) under UV irradiation was investigated. Characterization techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray powder diffractometry (XRD) were used to study the morphology and surface of the as-prepared hybrid membranes. We tested the photocatalytic efficiency of the as-prepared membranes in decomposing methylene blue (MB) under UV light irradiation. The hybrid membranes achieved the removal of MB with a degradation efficiency of 90% in 60 min. The high efficiency can be attributed to the presence of binary components in the membrane that enhanced both the adsorption capability and the photocatalytic ability of the membranes. The results obtained suggest that multicomponent hybrid membranes could be promising candidates for future photocatalysis-based water treatment technologies that also take into account the principles of circular economy. 相似文献

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a powerful non-invasive diagnostic method extensively used in biomedical studies. A significant limitation of MRI is its relatively low signal-to-noise ratio, which can be increased by hyperpolarizing nuclear spins. One promising method is Signal Amplification By Reversible Exchange (SABRE), which employs parahydrogen as a source of hyperpolarization. Recent studies demonstrated the feasibility to improve MRI sensitivity with this hyperpolarization technique. Hyperpolarized 15N nuclei in biomolecules can potentially retain their spin alignment for tens of minutes, providing an extended time window for the utilization of the hyperpolarized compounds. In this work, we demonstrate for the first time that radio-frequency-based SABRE hyperpolarization techniques can be used to obtain 15N MRI of biomolecule 1-15N-nicotinamide. Two image acquisition strategies were utilized and compared: Single Point Imaging (SPI) and Fast Low Angle SHot (FLASH). To study volatile combustion processes of single coal particles non-intrusive simultaneous multi-parameter measurements were performed. The experiment was carried out in a fully premixed flat flame burner with well-defined boundary conditions. For flame visualization high-speed luminescence imaging was combined with high-resolution high-speed OH-PLIF. To address particle size and shape a stereoscopic high-resolution backlight-illumination system was set up. Due to simultaneous recording of individual particle events the volatile combustion duration related to particle size, shape and velocity was measured. A comparison of luminescence imaging and OH-PLIF for flame visualization was investigated to define their application areas in coal combustion. The stereoscopic backlight-illumination setup was benchmarked to a well characterized bituminous coal. With a pixel resolution of ~2.5 µm fine particle contours were resolved. The particle diameter and eccentricity were evaluated by an ellipse approximation. The experimental setup can be used to investigate different coal ranks and biomass in N2/O2 and CO2/O2 atmospheres in future. 相似文献

A method for theoretical analysis spectra of rectangular segments (islands) of two-dimensional ordered overlayers of adsorbed species has been proposed. The simple formulae for frequencies, absorption coefficients and bandwidths as functions of island size and shape have been deduced.
