The major portion of skin secretory peptidome of the European Tree frog Hyla arborea consists of short peptides from tryptophyllin family. It is known that b-ions of these peptides undergo head-to-tail cyclization, forming a ring that can open, resulting in several linear forms.
As a result, the spectrum contains multiple ion series, thus complicating de novo sequencing. This was observed in the Q-TOF spectrum of one of the tryptophyllins isolated from Hyla arborea; the sequence FLPFFP-NH2 was established by Edman degradation and counter-synthesis. Though no rearrangements were observed in FTICR-MS and MALDI-TOF/TOF
spectra, both of them were not suitable for mass-spectrometry sequencing due to the low sequence coverage. To obtain full
amino acid sequence by mass spectrometry, three chemical modifications to N-terminal amino moiety were applied. They include
acetylation and sulfobenzoylation of N-amino group and its transformation to 2,4,6-trimethylpyridinium by interaction with
2,4,6-trimethylpyrillium tetrafluoroborate. All three reagents block scrambling and provide spectra better than the intact
peptide. Unfortunately, all of them also readily react with lysine side chain. Hence, all investigated procedures can be used
to improve sequencing of short peptides, while acetylation is the recommended one. It shows excellent results, and it is plain
and simple to perform. This is the procedure of choice for MS-sequencing of short peptides by manual or automatic algorithms. 相似文献
We develop some useful techniques for integrating over Higgs branches in supersymmetric theories with 4 and 8 supercharges.
In particular, we define a regularized volume for hyperk?hler quotients. We evaluate this volume for certain ALE and ALF spaces
in terms of the hyperk?hler periods. We also reduce these volumes for a large class of hyperk?hler quotients to simpler integrals.
These quotients include complex coadjoint orbits, instanton moduli spaces on ℝ4 and ALE manifolds, Hitchin spaces, and moduli spaces of (parabolic) Higgs bundles on Riemann surfaces. In the case of Hitchin
spaces the evaluation of the volume reduces to a summation over solutions of Bethe Ansatz equations for the non-linear Schr?dinger
system. We discuss some applications of our results.

Lysozyme is widely used for the synthesis of nanomaterials (e.g., gold nanoparticle) to fluorescently sense metal ions. However, the effect of metal ions on the fluorescence of lysozyme is not studied yet. Herein, we have explored the interactions of lysozyme with different metal ions to develop a direct sensing platform for Fe(III). It has been observed that the fluorescence of lysozyme was slightly decreased in the presence of Cu(II), Hg(II), As(V), Co(II), Cd(II), Cr(II), Fe(II), Mn(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II), while a significant decrease in the lysozyme fluorescence was observed for Fe(III). The effect of thermal stability on the fluorescence quenching was also studied from 25 to 60 °C. In the present study, the lysozyme sensing probe was able to selectively and accurately detect 0.5–50 ppm of Fe(III) with a LOD of 0.1 ppm (1.8 µM) at 25 °C.

The Group 18 elements (noble gases) were the last ones in the periodic system to have not been encountered in perovskite structures. We herein report the synthesis of a new group of double perovskites KM(XeNaO6) (M=Ca, Sr, Ba) containing framework‐forming xenon. The structures of the new compounds, like other double perovskites, are built up of the alternating sequence of corner‐sharing (XeO6) and (NaO6) octahedra arranged in a three‐dimensional rocksalt order. The fact that xenon can be incorporated into the perovskite structure provides new insights into the problem of Xe depletion in the atmosphere. Since octahedrally coordinated XeVIII and SiIV exhibit close values of ionic radii (0.48 and 0.40 Å, respectively), one could assume that XeVIII can be incorporated into hyperbaric frameworks such as MgSiO3 perovskite. The ability of Xe to form stable inorganic frameworks can further extend the rich and still enigmatic chemistry of this noble gas. 相似文献
Support vector classification (SVC) and regression (SVR) models were constructed and applied to the surface water quality data to optimize the monitoring program. The data set comprised of 1500 water samples representing 10 different sites monitored for 15 years. The objectives of the study were to classify the sampling sites (spatial) and months (temporal) to group the similar ones in terms of water quality with a view to reduce their number; and to develop a suitable SVR model for predicting the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of water using a set of variables. The spatial and temporal SVC models rendered grouping of 10 monitoring sites and 12 sampling months into the clusters of 3 each with misclassification rates of 12.39% and 17.61% in training, 17.70% and 26.38% in validation, and 14.86% and 31.41% in test sets, respectively. The SVR model predicted water BOD values in training, validation, and test sets with reasonably high correlation (0.952, 0.909, and 0.907) with the measured values, and low root mean squared errors of 1.53, 1.44, and 1.32, respectively. The values of the performance criteria parameters suggested for the adequacy of the constructed models and their good predictive capabilities. The SVC model achieved a data reduction of 92.5% for redesigning the future monitoring program and the SVR model provided a tool for the prediction of the water BOD using set of a few measurable variables. The performance of the nonlinear models (SVM, KDA, KPLS) was comparable and these performed relatively better than the corresponding linear methods (DA, PLS) of classification and regression modeling. 相似文献
