Adsoprtion of gadolinium on activated charcoal has been studied as a function of shaking time, pH, concentration of adsorbate and temperature. Gadolinium adsorption obeys the Langmuir isotherm. Ho and So were calculated from the slope and intercept of the In KD 1/T plot. The influence of different cations and anions on gadolinium adsorption has been examined. The adsorption of other metal ions on activated charcoal has been studied under optimum conditions to check the selectivity of gadolinium adsorption. Consequently, gadolinium was removed from Ni, V, Zn, Cu, Rb, Sr and Mn. More than 97% of the adsorbed gadolinium on activated charcoal can be recovered with 35 ml of 3M HNO3 solution. Wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer was used for measuring gadolinium concentration. 相似文献

Summary Dichloro complexes of PdII, [Pd(L–L)Cl2], where L–L=1-(thiomethyl)-2-(diphenylarsino)ethane (S–As) or 1-(thiomethyl)-2-(diphenylphosphino)ethane (S–P) andtrans-[PdL2Cl2], where L=diphenyl(2-phenylethyl)-phosphine (PE), diphenyl(1-naphthyl)phosphine (PN) orN-methyl-2-thiophenealdimine (SN), have been prepared and characterized. The reactions of these complexes with MeLi were investigated. The dimethyl complexes [Pd(L–L)Me2] (L–L=S–As, S–P) and [Pd(PE)Me2] were isolated and characterized. Reaction of [Pd(L–L)Me2] (L–L=S–As, S–P) with HCl affords the monomethyl derivatives [Pd(L–L)Me(Cl)]. In contrast to the Pt analogues, [Pd(L–L)Me2] and [Pd(L–L)Me(Cl)] are relatively less stable than [Pt(L–L)Me2] and [Pt(L–L)Me(Cl)]. 相似文献

In this article, we investigate the influence of heat and mass transfer on the peristaltic flow of magnetohydrodynamic second‐order fluid in a channel when the induced magnetic field effects are present. Problem formulation in a wave frame of reference is presented. The governing nonlinear analysis is carried out under the assumption of small wave number. Explicit expressions of the pressure gradient, the stream function, the magnetic force function, the axial induced magnetic field, the current density distribution, the temperature, and the concentration distribution are derived. One of the most important components of solid rocket propellant is the burning rate catalysts (BRC) which enhance burning rate of solid composite propellant. Low‐pressure exponents and stable burning rate are the key features of an excellent solid propellant. Addition of BRC to the propellant results in the increase of burning rate of the propellant and decrease in pressure exponents. Among all BRC, ferrocene‐based BRC have attracted much attention because of their better microscopic homogeneities in distribution, ignitability of the propellants and good compatibility with organic binder. However, the main barrier for the development and practical applications of ferrocene‐based BRC is their migration property. This article reviews the field and highlights recent progress. Enzyme “hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) dehydrochlorinase LinA” mediates first step of aerobic microbial degradation of a chlorinated insecticide γ-HCH. The archetypal LinA-type1 consists of 156 amino acids that include a directly repeated hexapeptide motif GIHFAP at positions 141–146 and 148–153. Analysis of a series of LinA mutants, containing none, one, two, or three units of this repeated motif revealed that two units, as present in wild-type LinA, are required for its optimal activity and stability. Moreover, the presence of a bend in its secondary structure due to a proline residue that precedes the distal repeated unit contributes to enhanced LinA activity. 相似文献

This paper presents the oil uptake of porous sorbent polymer sheets consisting of ultra‐high molecular weight polyethylene. A comprehensive set of experiments are performed showing the saturation contact time, retention value, mechanical properties, oil pick‐up ratio, pick‐up density, and dynamic dripping profile. Kinetic modeling of the oil sorption is also provided. The experimental results show a good correlation with the pseudo‐second order model. The sheets exhibit high oil uptake speeds, requiring less than 2 min in contact with the oil to reach saturation. The sheets fulfill the criteria of high uptake kinetics, high sorption capacity, and high mechanical strength simultaneously. Those characteristics enable their use in practical spill response.
