The Late Neolithic palafitte site, Ustie na Drim, in the northern part of Lake Ohrid (North Macedonia), excavated in 1962, offered ceramic fragments of large, flat, elongated pans. These artifacts could be dated by relative chronology to roughly around 5200–5000 BC. According to their shape and technological traits, the ceramic pans were probably used for baking. The attached materials on the surface of studied pan fragments were sampled for consequent chemical and microscopical analyses (i.e., analyses of starch, phytoliths, and microscopic animal remains). An immunological method revealed the presence of pork proteins in samples. The presence of organic residues of animal origin was, moreover, confirmed by the detection of cholesterol using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry. Analysis of detected microscopic botanical objects revealed starch grains of several plants (i.e., oak, cattail, and grasses). An interesting find was the hair of a beetle larva, which could be interpreted contextually as the khapra beetle, a pest of grain and flour. Based on our data, we suppose that the ceramic pans from Ustie na Drim were used for the preparation of meals containing meat from common livestock in combination with cereals and wild plants.  相似文献

The poor crystalline compounds could not be classified in any of the four general structure patterns of the niobium and tantalum halide compounds. The extractability of metacinnabar and cinnabar, alone or in the presence of some sediment components, with various concentrations of HNO3 (1, 4, 6, and 14 M) was studied. Both forms of HgS (0.2–0.3 mg HgS in 10–20 mL of acid) were insoluble in all HNO3 concentrations as pure compounds. The presence of FeCl3 enhanced solubility of both cinnabar and metacinnabar, especially when concentrated HNO3 was used for the extraction. As the same effect was not obtained in the presence of FeOOH, we concluded that chloride and not Fe3+ was responsible for HgS dissolution. In fact, addition of very low chloride concentration to concentrated HNO3 provoked partial (Cl>10–4 M) or even total dissolution (Cl>10–2 M) of HgS. In dilute HNO3 (4–6 M) cinnabar was much less affected by chloride addition than metacinnabar. Extraction of HgS by concentrated HNO3 in the presence of sediment of various salinities demonstrated that the amount of dissolved HgS increased with the increase of the sediment salinity (from freshwater to estuarine and marine sediment), confirming that chloride enhances dissolution of HgS. Removal of chloride by washing the sediment with Milli-Q water significantly reduced dissolution of added HgS during extraction by concentrated HNO3. These results demonstrate that conclusions based on the extraction schemes using concentrated HNO3 as single extractant or as the first extractant in the sequential extraction procedures can be biased. A verification of artifactual oxidation of HgS, when using more concentrated HNO3 as extractant, would help to verify reliability of the applied extraction procedure.  相似文献

An analytical procedure for the determination of abamectin and/or doramectin in sheep faeces has been developed. Avermectins were extracted from sheep faeces with acetonitrile, clean-up using solid phase extraction (SPE) and analysed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fl uorescence detection after derivatization with N-methylimidazole.The method has a low detection limit (1.0 ng/g of moist sheep faeces), low quanti fi cation limit (2.5 ng/g of moist sheep faeces), good recovery in the range 66.4-80.8% for abamectin and 67.7-85.5% for doramectin as well as good repeatability (>85%). The method is applicable to the study of the time pro fi le of excretion in sheep faeces and also for ecotoxicological studies of both avermectins.  相似文献

A quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer was evaluated for use in the detection of phosphorus. The influences of nitric acid and methanol (simulating the composition of a sample solution after nitric acid digestion) on phosphorus determination were studied using two different measuring methods at different plasma conditions: detection of phosphorus ions at m/z 31 and detection of phosphorus oxide ions at m/z 47. The existence of polyatomic interferences at m/z 31 and 47 was explored. Nitric acid and methanol are shown to be the sources of polyatomic ions and therefore cause poorer detection limits. Better detection limits were achieved in such matrices when phosphorus was detected as 31P+. The presence of methanol improves the system sensitivity towards phosphorus sevenfold; however, this positive effect is hindered by the high background signal due to carbon-based polyatomic ions. For samples with an organic matrix an appropriate mineralization procedure should be applied (high excess of nitric acid and high temperature) to quantitatively oxidize organic compounds to carbon dioxide, which is easily removed from the sample, in order to achieve correct results.  相似文献

Solvatomorphism has been found between two series of complexes of the composition [M(bpy)3]2[NbO(C2O4)3]Cl.nH2O [M = Fe2+ (1, 2), Co2+ (3, 4), Ni2+ (5, 6), Cu2+ (7) and Zn2+ (8, 9); bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine)], crystallizing in the monoclinic space group P2 1/c [3, 5, 8 (n = 11)] or in the orthorhombic space group P21 21 21 [2, 4, 6, 7 (n = 12)]. All the structures contain two symmetry independent [M(bpy)3]2+ cations, one [NbO(C2O4)3]3- anion, one Cl(-) anion, and crystal water molecules. The cations possess a trigonally distorted octahedral geometry, with an additional tetragonal distortion in 7. Analysis of crystal packing reveals a specific type of supramolecular contact comprising four bipyridine ligands from two neighbouring [M(bpy)3]2+ cations--quadruple aryl embrace (QAE) contact. The contact is realized by the alignment of two molecular two-fold rotation axes, preserving the parallel orientation of the molecular three-fold rotation axes. The resulting two-dimensional honeycomb lattices of [M(bpy)3]2+ cations are placed between the hydrogen bonding layers made of [NbO(C2O4)3]3- and Cl(-) anions and the majority of the crystal water molecules. The temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements (1.8-300 K) show a significant orbital angular momentum contribution for 3 and 4 (high-spin Co2+), the influence of zero-field splitting for 5 and 6(Ni2+) and a substantially paramagnetic Curie behaviour for the Cu2+ compound (7).  相似文献

Complexes 1–4, [Ru(L)(bpy)2]PF6, where bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine; HL = 3-methylpyridine-2-carboxylic acid (HL1), 6-methylpyridine-2-carboxylic acid (HL2), 5-bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid (HL3) and 6-bromopyridine-2-carboxylic acid (HL4), were synthesized and characterized. The electrochemical character of the complexes was investigated by cyclic voltammetry revealing two reversible reduction waves in the negative range of potentials, most likely due to a reduction of the bipyridine moiety. Cytotoxicity studies by MTT assay for 72 h of drug action revealed that 2–4 exhibited moderate activity in cervical human tumor cells (HeLa). Complex 2 exhibited low activity in colon cancer LS-174 cells (180 ± 10), while all complexes were devoid of activity in lung cancer A549 and non-tumor MRC-5 cells, up to 200 μM. Combinational studies of the most active complex 2, with pharmacological modulators of cell redox status, L-buthionine-sulfoximine (L-BSO) or N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC), showed that when L-BSO potentiated, 2 induced a sub-G1 peak of the cell cycle in the HeLa cell line. UV–vis and cyclic voltammetry were performed in order to investigate the binding mode of 2 to DNA and suggested intercalation for the complex–DNA interaction.  相似文献

 In this work it was established that, in the presence of ammonium carbonate, traces of manganese(II) catalyse the oxidation of Nile Blue A by hydrogen peroxide, which enables its kinetic determination in the concentration range from 6.6 to 65.9 ng cm−3, the detection limit being 8.0 × 10−2 ng cm−3. Antiviral/antitumour substances modify the catalytic activity of manganese(II): 1-β-D-ribofuranosyl-1,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide, ribavirin, increases the catalytic effect of manganese(II), while 2-β-D-ribofuranosyl-thiazole-4-carboxamide, tiazofurin, acts as an inhibitor. On the basis of these effects, a kinetic method for determining ribavirin concentrations from 0.5 × 10−1 to 4.0 × 10−1 μg cm−3 and tiazofurin concentrations from 0.3 to 2.6 μg cm−3 is proposed. The kinetics of the indicator reaction were studied in the presence of the substances examined, the kinetic equations established, and the constants of the corresponding reaction rates calculated. The effect of temperature on these reactions was also investigated. The method was applied to the determination of manganese(II) in mineral water and ribavirin in pharmaceutical preparations.
