Two hundred ninety experimental absolute intensities of nu(1) and nu(3) transitions of ozone have been measured, with good accuracy (<2%). They are used to derive the transition-moment parameters for these bands. The agreement between our observed and calculated line intensities is satisfactory. This work shows that the intensities of these two bands are on average 4% smaller than those used in the literature. In addition, 20 intensities of the nu(2) + nu(3) - nu(2) band confirm this value. The colloidal probe technique is commonly employed to determine the adhesion force between a particle and a solid surface. Characterization of the adhesion of a particle across a surface can be as important, if not more so, as the determination of an average value for the adhesion. Unfortunately, the measurement of the variation in adhesion can be difficult at best. A new approach for studying particle-surface adhesion based on the force-volume technique is presented. Upon combining the force-volume technique with a colloidal probe, not only is it possible to determine the average adhesion force, but an image of the spatial variation of the adhesion can also be obtained. In this work, an innovative solution was developed in order to make paper-based material, used traditionally in the packaging and labelling industries, compatible with the printing of functional conductive inks. In order to avoid the deterioration of the ink functionalities due to different paper properties, a UV-curing inkjettable primer layer was developed. This pre-treatment enables homogeneous surface properties such as smoothness, absorption capacity and surface energy to be obtained, for almost all the examined substrates. To confirm the positive impact of such pre-treatment, conductivity has been measured when using a new conductive ink, combining the processability of the PEDOT-PSS conductive polymer with the high electrical properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Significant improvement has been measured for all paper materials and similar conductivity (close to reference PET film) has been obtained whatever the substrate involved. This pre-treatment now makes it possible to consider paper-based material as a potential substrate for printed electronics. A one-parameter family of bivariate means is introduced. They are defined in terms of the inverse functions of Jacobian elliptic functions cn and nc. It is shown that the new means are symmetric and homogeneous of degree one in their variables. Members of this family of means interpolate an inequality which connects two Schwab–Borchardt means. We measured the neutron scattering intensity ratios from polyethylene (CH2) relative to graphite (C) at several discrete final energies, of narrow widths (approximately 3 eV) between 64 eV and 3 keV. The final energies were selected using a 238U filter. This experiment was carried out to search for any anomaly in the n-p scattered intensities from CH2 caused by the neutron coherence length. Experimental evidences are presented supporting the existence of a new optical absorption band observed when monolayers of alkylthiol are self-assembled on gold substrate. This new absorption is centered at about 800 nm and has a very broad absorption peak. The microbial free single crystals of α and γ glycine were grown from gel at room temperature in a new chemical route. These crystals showed a superior quality than the solution grown crystals. The metastable α-form and the stable γ-form of glycine were crystallized in silica gel by solubility reduction method. The form of crystallization is confirmed by single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analyses. The crystals of α and γ glycine were found to crystallize in monoclinic and hexagonal crystal systems, respectively. For analyzing the functional group and thermal stability of α and γ glycine crystals, spectroscopic and thermal analyses have been carried out. The dielectric studies were performed to find the dielectric constant of the grown crystals and the results are discussed. Second harmonic generation efficiency of the crystal was measured by Kurtz’s powder method using Nd:YAG laser and it was found to be 2.68 times that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate crystals. 相似文献
