X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectrometry is a nondestructive, rapid, simultaneous multi-elemental imaging methodology for plant materials. Its applications are broad and cover most of the elements with varying concentration below the parts per million (ppm). XRF is a well-established atomic spectrometric technique that is also being used as a field portable instrumentation. In recent decades, XRF has been considered a very versatile tool for plant nutrition diagnosis due to its fast and multi-elemental analytical imaging response directly from a solid sample. In this review, we have mainly focused on the recent developments and advancements in XRF spectrometry to analyze plant materials. We have also included the fundamental aspects and instrumentation for XRF spectrometry for its use in plants imaging. We have also covered the use of XRF for vegetal tissues and plant leaves. Mainly, we have briefly focused on some features of sampling procedures and calibration strategies regarding the use of XRF for plant tissues. Microchemical imaging applications by XRF, μ-XRF, μ-SRXRF, and TXRF have been covered for a wide variety of plant tissues such as leaves, roots, stems, and seeds.  相似文献

We propose a physically motivated parameterization for the unpolarized generalized parton distributions, H and E, valid at both zero and non-zero values of the skewness variable, ζ. Our approach follows a previous detailed study of the ζ=0 case where H and E were determined using constraints from simultaneous fits of the experimental data on both the nucleon elastic form factors and the deep inelastic structure functions in the non-singlet sector. Additional constraints at ζ≠0 are provided by lattice calculations of the higher moments of generalized parton distributions. We illustrate a method for extracting generalized parton distributions from lattice moments based on a reconstruction using sets of orthogonal polynomials. The inclusion in our fit of data on Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering is also discussed. Our method provides a step towards an extraction of generalized distributions based on a global fit of the available data within the given set of constraints.  相似文献

Targeted vesicle fusion is a promising approach to selectively control interactions between vesicle compartments and would enable the initiation of biological reactions in complex aqueous environments. Here, we explore how two features of vesicle membranes, DNA tethers and phase‐segregated membranes, promote fusion between specific vesicle populations. Membrane phase‐segregation provides an energetic driver for membrane fusion that increases the efficiency of DNA‐mediated fusion events. The orthogonality provided by DNA tethers allows us to direct fusion and delivery of DNA cargo to specific vesicle populations. Vesicle fusion between DNA‐tethered vesicles can be used to initiate in vitro protein expression to produce model soluble and membrane proteins. Engineering orthogonal fusion events between DNA‐tethered vesicles provides a new strategy to control the spatiotemporal dynamics of cell‐free reactions, expanding opportunities to engineer artificial cellular systems.  相似文献

The Kullback relative-information measure and Kerridge's inaccuracy measure and their generalized forms are consequences of different forms of the branching property that these measures are required to satisfy. We consider a seemingly more generalized form and show that it does not lead to new measures. We also form a functional equation in two variables through this generalized branching property and show that this leads to the same result.  相似文献

The present investigation highlights the optimal conditions for production of a non-toxic, bi-functional fibrinolytic enzyme xylarinase produced by endophytic fungus Xylaria curta by solid substrate fermentation using rice chaff medium. The purified enzyme is a monomeric protein with a molecular mass of ~33 kDa. The enzyme exhibits cleavage of Aα and Bβ chains of fibrin(ogen) and has no effect on γ chain. The optimal fibrinolytic activity of the enzyme was observed at 35 °C and pH 8. The fibrinolytic activity was enhanced in the presence of Ca2+, whereas it was completely inhibited in the presence of Fe2+ and Zn2+ ions and inhibitors like EDTA and EGTA suggesting it to be a metalloprotease. The K m and V max of the enzyme for azocasein were 326 μM and 0.13 μM min?1. The N-terminal sequence of the enzyme (SNGPLPGGVVWAG) was same when compared to xylarinase isolated from culture broth of X. curta. Thus, xylarinase could be exploited as a potent clot busting enzyme which could be produced on large scale using solid substrate fermentation.  相似文献

Cooperative interactions between RNA and vesicle membranes on the prebiotic earth may have led to the emergence of primitive cells. The membrane surface offers a potential platform for the catalysis of reactions involving RNA, but this scenario relies upon the existence of a simple mechanism by which RNA could become associated with protocell membranes. Here, we show that electrostatic interactions provided by short, basic, amphipathic peptides can be harnessed to drive RNA binding to both zwitterionic phospholipid and anionic fatty acid membranes. We show that the association of cationic molecules with phospholipid vesicles can enhance the local positive charge on a membrane and attract RNA polynucleotides. This phenomenon can be reproduced with amphipathic peptides as short as three amino acids. Finally, we show that peptides can cross bilayer membranes to localize encapsulated RNA. This mechanism of polynucleotide confinement could have been important for primitive cellular evolution.  相似文献

We depict a novel strategy exploiting the chemistry of metal ion adsorption for detection and sequestration of toxic heavy metal from processed water using gold nanoparticles capped with 4-aminothiophenol. The interaction between 4-aminothiophenol capped gold nanoparticles and heavy metal ions was studied as a function of time and concentration using TEM, HRTEM, SEM, EDS, and I-V characterization. Experiments confirmed that pH is one of the crucial controlling parameters. Adsorption capacity was monitored using AAS, UV-vis spectroscopy and I-V measurement. In the absence of any alloy formation between Au and heavy metal ions, the desorption of the heavy metal ions from 4-aminothiophenol capped gold nanoparticles surface by pH modulation serves as a mean of collection of heavy metal ions. Experiments revealed that the concentration of heavy metal ions in processed water after adsorption is below the maximum permissible limit set by the WHO.  相似文献
