The nonequilibrium behaviour of the intermediate state of non-ellipsoidal specimens of type-I superconductors is well documented. We present the identification of a signal due to an octupole moment of this intermediate state in the magnetization measurements on a disc shaped Pb specimen. We can also identify a quasi-irreversibility temperature, like the HTSC materials, in the magnetization data on a Pb disc. However, its precise value at a given H depends on the orientation of the plane of the disc with respect to the applied field and it cannot be treated as a material characteristics of Pb. 相似文献

We have studied the peak effect (PE) phenomenon in single crystals of weakly pinned superconductors CeRu2 and 2H-NbS2. 2H-NbS2 is iso-structural and iso-electronic to 2H-NbSe2, whose similarity with CeRu2 as regards the PE representing the order-to-disorder transformation of the flux line lattice was claimed some time ago. The magnetic and57Fe Mössbauer studies in melt-spun RuFeSi show that in spite of the differences in the Xac responses between the melt-spun and annealed specimens, which have very different atomic order/disorder, the microscopic details of the Fe spin dynamics are similar. Experimental data have been compiled from the published chemical and engineering literature on the enthalpies of solvation for 92 different inorganic gases and organic vapours in acetic acid. The compiled data are used to derive mathematical correlations based on the Abraham solvation parameter model. The derived expressions describe the experimental solvation enthalpies in acetic acid to within a standard deviation (SD) of 2.2 kJ mol?1. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on the five equation coefficients from a derived Abraham model correlation shows that acetic acid does not resemble hydroxylic solvents in terms of enthalpic interactions, but is more akin to moderately polar solvents such as ethyl acetate or acetone. 相似文献

We present a simple method for fabricating chemically-inert Teflon microfluidic valves and pumps in glass microfluidic devices. These structures are modeled after monolithic membrane valves and pumps that utilize a featureless polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membrane bonded between two etched glass wafers. The limited chemical compatibility of PDMS has necessitated research into alternative materials for microfluidic devices. Previous work has shown that spin-coated amorphous fluoropolymers and Teflon-fluoropolymer laminates can be fabricated and substituted for PDMS in monolithic membrane valves and pumps for space flight applications. However, the complex process for fabricating these spin-coated Teflon films and laminates may preclude their use in many research and manufacturing contexts. As an alternative, we show that commercially-available fluorinated ethylene-propylene (FEP) Teflon films can be used to fabricate chemically-inert monolithic membrane valves and pumps in glass microfluidic devices. The FEP Teflon valves and pumps presented here are simple to fabricate, function similarly to their PDMS counterparts, maintain their performance over extended use, and are resistant to virtually all chemicals. These structures should facilitate lab-on-a-chip research involving a vast array of chemistries that are incompatible with native PDMS microfluidic devices. 相似文献

Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (BCP) motifs are of growing importance to the pharmaceutical industry as sp3-rich bioisosteres of benzene rings and as molecular building blocks in materials science. Herein we explore the behavior of 1,3-disubstituted BCP moieties on metal surfaces by combining low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy / non-contact atomic force microscopy studies with density functional theory modeling. We examine the configuration of individual BCP-containing precursors on Au(111), their supramolecular assembly and thermally activated dehalogenative coupling reactions, affording polymeric chains with incorporated electronically isolating units. Our studies not only provide the first sub-molecular insights of the BCP scaffold behavior on surfaces, but also extend the potential application of BCP derivatives towards integration in custom-designed surface architectures. 相似文献

Strychnos nux vomica is an important plant source for drugs of ayurvedic and homeopathic system of medicine. In this paper a thin layer chromatographic
(TLC) method has been developed for the quantitative estimation of the two major alkaloids strychnine and brucine in the plant
fruit and in ayurvedic and homeopathic drugs. Chloroform–ethyl acetate–diethyl amine (0.5:8.5:1) as mobile phase gave clear
separation with no interference between the bioactive markers. The R

values for strychnine and brucine were 0.55 and 0.42. The TLC method was found to be precise, rugged, robust and accurate
with recovery of strychnine in the range 93.11–99.82% and brucine 96.95–99.48%. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of
quantification (LOQ) for strychnine were 1.9 and 8.25 ng and for brucine 2.2 and 9.2 ng respectively. 相似文献
