The evolution of cascades of atomic displacements in solids is analyzed. The charge-exchange, ionization, and elastic scattering cross sections are calculated for the atoms and ions involved in cascade evolution. The effects due to the material density are taken into account. These results are used to perform the first Monte Carlo computations of cascades based on the knowledge of microscopic processes without invoking phenomenological potentials. The proposed approach is unique in that detailed characteristics of atomic processes are obtained by ab initio calculation and applied to analyze cascades of atomic displacements. Subcascade development is described, and a relation between the number of Frenkel pairs and the energy of the primary knock-on atom is found for a wide energy range. This provides a basis for characterizing the dose dependence of the hardening of reactor pressure vessel steel and for comparing the effects of primary radiation damage for fission and fusion reactors.  相似文献

The paper analyzes the consequences of the assumption that the effects of quantum coherence and the resulting angular ordering in QCD cascades are disrupted within the hot fireball created in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions. The effects of decoherence are taken into account by switching off angular ordering for the vertices of MC-generated cascade that lie within the fireball of some given size. We show that decoherence exerts a pronounced influence on the spatiotemporal pattern of a cascade. Related effects due to non-radiative losses of cascade gluons and those of final prehadrons are discussed. We show that decoherence leads to a substantial increase in the yield of cascade particles hadronizing inside the hot zone thus exerting a strong influence on the properties of final hadrons and amplifying the effects of collisional energy losses of cascade partons and final prehadrons that take place inside the fireball.  相似文献

Thermal behavior, the parameters of crystal structure, and the structural transitions of copolymers of vinylcyclohexane with styrene were studied. Heating in air of the copolymers and of mechanical mixtures of homopolymers results in thermooxidative destruction. For all samples, the oxidation starts at 210–220°C. The antioxidant effect on thermal stability of copolymers was studied. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) data were used to determine the melting points of homopolymers and crystal copolymers. The method of x-ray diffraction on large scattering angles was used to determine the dimensions and type of unit cells, the degree of crystallinity, the dimensions of the coherent scattering regions (the dimensions of crystallites) of copolymers of various compositions, and to compare them to the parameters of the structure of polyvinylcyclohexane and polystyrene. Information on molecular motion intensity and structural transitions in homopolymers and copolymers with changing temperature was obtained by the spin-probe technique.  相似文献
