The effect of different polyfunctional monomers (PFMs) as enhancing agents on the properties of natural rubber/styrene-butadiene rubber blend reinforced with 40 (phr) part per hundred part of rubber, by weight of HAF carbon black and vulcanized with gamma irradiation was investigated. The coagents N,N’ methylene diacrylamide (MDA), trimethylol propane-trimethacrylate (TMPTMA) and trimethylol-methane tetraacrylate (TMMTA) were used at a constant content of 5 phr. The physico-chemical properties such as tensile strength, tensile modulus at 100 % elongation, elongation at break, gel fraction and swelling number were studied. The results indicated that the properties are greatly improved by PFMs at lower doses. TMMTA as coagent is more effective than TMPTMA and MDA.  相似文献

This research involves the behavior of thymol phtalein pH indicator entrapped into the sol‐gel derived inorganic matrix. The method is based on the physical entrapment of the reagent molecules in the sol‐gel matrix. The immobilized thymol phthalein pH indicator shows behavior similar to its solution counterpart. The UV/vis spectra indicate that the thymol phthalein retains its structure during the sol‐gel reactions in terms of response to pH. Thymol phthalein can be regarded as uniformly distributed in the sol‐gel matrix. This observation has been confirmed using polarized microscopy. This research shows that thymol phtalein can be immobilized in sol‐gel glasses and used as a solid pH sensor.  相似文献

Abstract

The kinetics of H2 production during Zn corrosion in 0.5?M HCl without and with various additives of N,N'-bis-(1-hydroxyphenylimine)-2,5-thiophenedicarboxaldehyde (HPTD) was studied using gasometry and electrochemical techniques. The surface of the corroded Zn samples was investigated using SEM and Optical Profilometry. The rate of H2 production (RHP) increased with the immersion time and temperature. Presence of HPTD mitigated RHP due to an adsorption process. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy showed that HPTD had a good inhibitive effect. Polarization data proved that HPTD acted as a surface-active mixed-type inhibitor. Some thermodynamic parameters were deduced and discussed. Theoretical calculations were also conducted to corroborate the capability of HPTD to protect Zn surface from corrosion process.  相似文献

Synthesis of poly(acrylamidoxime) resin from polyacrylonitrile performed with different crosslinking ratios 2, 5, and 10 wt% of divinylbenzene as crosslinking agent, using methylbenzoate and dioctylphthalate as pore producing solvent, the reaction mixture occurred under nitrogen. Studies carried out on diluted solution from rare earth elements (REEs) concentrate contains impurities as Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Al3+, Si4+, Th4+, U6+, Ca2+, and K+. Changing some parameters as pH of the solution, time of feeding and type of acid as HCl, HNO3, H2SO4. The adsorption efficiency of resin is in the order pH 6 > pH 5 > pH 4 > pH 2 with excluding pH 6 due to the precipitation of some of REEs with the impurities and complete precipitation of Dy ion during pH adjustment, the adsorption in HNO3 > HCl > H2SO4 media.  相似文献

In this respect mono‐, di‐, and tri‐ sorbitol oleate esters [SMO, SDO, and STO] were prepared and then ethoxylated using ethylene oxide to obtain six sorbitol esters at different ethylene oxide content (e.o=5, 12, 15, 20, 35, and 45). They were tested as oil spill dispersants individually and in blends. From the obtained data, it was found that the blends are more effective than the corresponding individual surfactants. The maximum dispersion capability for the prepared surfactants was obtained at HLB range from 9 to 11 for the both individual surfactants and blends. The increase of total carbon number in the surfactant alkyl group leads to increase dispersion capability of the dispersant. The wide range of ethylene oxide content was used, but the maximum dispersion efficiency was obtained at ethylene oxide=20 in E(20)STO. Meanwhile, the dispersion capability increases when the interfacial tension decreases.  相似文献

This study involves the behavior of universal indicator entrapped into the sol‐gel matrix. The encapsulation of universal indicator has been prepared by acid catalyzed sol‐gel reaction of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) in the presence of universal indicator to produce transparent monolithic silica doping with universal indicator. The immobilized universal indicator pH‐indicator shows behavior similar to its solution counterpart. The UV/VIS spectra indicate that the universal indicator retains its structure during the sol‐gel reactions in terms of response to pH. The universal indicator can be regarded as uniformly distributed in the sol‐gel matrix. The use of SDS surfactant has positive effects on the immobilized universal indicator monolithic disk due to homogenizing the polymerizing system. This observation has been confirmed using polarized microscopy.  相似文献

The formation of heavy crude oil in water (O/W) emulsion by a low energy laminar controlled flow has been investigated. The emulsion was prepared in an eccentric cylinder mixer. Its geometry allows the existence of chaotic flows that are able to mix well highly viscous fluids. This new mixer design is used to produce high internal phase ratio emulsions for three oils: castor oil and two heavy crude oils of different initial viscosity (Zuata and Athabasca crude oils). The influence of the stirring conditions, geometrical parameters, and water volume fraction on the rheological properties of the resulting O/W emulsion is studied.  相似文献

A series of ethoxylated sodium monooctyl sulfosuccinates [E(n)SMOSS] and ethoxylated sodium monolauryl sulfosuccinates [E(n)SMLSS] have different units of ethylene oxide (n = 9, 14, 23) were synthesized. The surface and thermodynamic properties of these surfactants have been compared with sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate surfactant (SDOSS) as a commonly used surfactant. The surface tension measurements at 25, 35, 45, and 55°C were used to determine of the critical micelle concentration (CMC) and surface active properties of these surfactants. The effect of the ethylene oxide (EO) unit and the alkyl chain length on the surface properties for the prepared surfactants was studied. The results show that the ethoxylated sodium monoalkyl sulfosuccinates generally have lower values of CMC than that of sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate. The values of surface active parameters indicate that the ethoxylated sodium monooctyl sulfosuccinates and ethoxylated sodium monolauryl sulfosuccinates surfactants have adsorption properties better than the sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate surfactant as a resulted presence of ethylene oxide in molecules of the prepared surfactants. The thermodynamic parameters show that the (EO) unites in the chemical structure of ethoxylated sodium monoalkyl sulfosuccinate surfactants improve their micellization and adsorption properties.  相似文献

Direct conversion of cellulose into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF) was performed by using single or combined metal chloride catalysts in 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(Cl) ionic liquid.Our study demonstrated formation of 2-furyl hydroxymethyl ketone(FHMK),and furfural(FF) simultaneously with the formation of HMF.Various reaction parameters were addressed to optimize yields of furan derivatives produced from cellulose by varying reaction temperature,time,and the type of metal chloride catalyst.Catalytic reaction by using FeCl3 resulted in 59.9% total yield of furan derivatives(HMF,FHMK,and FF) from cellulose.CrCl3 was the most effective catalyst for selective conversion of cellulose into HMF(35.6%) with less concentrations of FHMK,and FF.Improving the yields of furans produced from cellulose could be achieved via reactions catalyzed by different combinations of two metal chlorides.Further optimization was carried out to produce total furans yield 75.9% by using FeCl3/CuCl2 combination.CrCl3/CuCl2 was the most selective combination to convert cellulose into HMF(39.9%) with total yield(63.8%) of furans produced from the reaction.The temperature and time of the catalytic reaction played an important role in cellulose conversion,and the yields of products.Increasing the reaction temperature could enhance the cellulose conversion and HMF yield for short reaction time intervals(5~20 min).  相似文献

ABSTRACT

This study reports the removal of organic matters from phosphoric acid using waste-produced bio-charcoal structures. Particularly, the freshly made bio-char species via pyrolysis and two sub-driven acids activated charcoals were applied during the removal process. The treated charcoal with hydrochloric and nitric acids had attained a higher adsorption rate for organic matters than that of the non-treated one. Removal percentages of 70% and 60% were, respectively, attained by acid-modified chars. The kinetics of the adsorption process was fitted via pseudo-first/second-order and Morris–Weber models. The thermodynamic parameters of the presented sorption process indicate that organic matter removal has been endothermic, physical and spontaneous.  相似文献
