Treatment of Mn(N(SiMe3)2)2(THF)2 with bulky chelating bis(alkoxide) ligand [1,1′:4′,1′′-terphenyl]-2,2′′-diylbis(diphenylmethanol) (H2[O-terphenyl-O]Ph) formed a seesaw manganese(II) complex Mn[O-terphenyl-O]Ph(THF)2, characterized by structural, spectroscopic, magnetic, and analytical methods. The reactivity of Mn[O-terphenyl-O]Ph(THF)2 with various nitrene precursors was investigated. No reaction was observed between Mn[O-terphenyl-O]Ph(THF)2 and aryl azides. In contrast, the treatment of Mn[O-terphenyl-O]Ph(THF)2 with iminoiodinane PhINTs (Ts = p-toluenesulfonyl) was consistent with the formation of a metal-nitrene complex. In the presence of styrene, the reaction led to the formation of aziridine. Combining varying ratios of styrene and PhINTs in different solvents with 10 mol% of Mn[O-terphenyl-O]Ph(THF)2 at room temperature produced 2-phenylaziridine in up to a 79% yield. Exploration of the reactivity of Mn[O-terphenyl-O]Ph(THF)2 with various olefins revealed (1) moderate aziridination yields for p-substituted styrenes, irrespective of the electronic nature of the substituent; (2) moderate yield for 1,1′-disubstituted α-methylstyrene; (3) no aziridination for aliphatic α-olefins; (4) complex product mixtures for the β-substituted styrenes. DFT calculations suggest that iminoiodinane is oxidatively added upon binding to Mn, and the resulting formal imido intermediate has a high-spin Mn(III) center antiferromagnetically coupled to an imidyl radical. This imidyl radical reacts with styrene to form a sextet intermediate that readily reductively eliminates the formation of a sextet Mn(II) aziridine complex.  相似文献

The behavior of C(60) molecules deposited onto 11-phenoxyundecanethiol (phenoxy) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) is studied using ultrahigh vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy (UHV-STM) and spectroscopy. We observe that after thermally annealing between 350 and 400 K in vacuum a combination of hexagonally close-packed islands, rectangularly packed islands, and isolated single lines of C(60) is observed when the C(60) is initially deposited on an unannealed phenoxy SAM. However, only rectangularly packed islands are found when they are deposited on a preannealed phenoxy SAM. We determine the rectangular packing to have a (2√3 × 4) rectangular unit cell with respect to the underlying Au(111) substrate. This type of C(60) structure has not been observed previously for multicomponent self-assemblies on a surface. We discuss the possible causes for the formation of this structure as well as the differences between starting on an unannealed SAM and an annealed one. This study demonstrates the capability of functionalized alkanethiol SAMs to control the growth and structure of C(60) islands during annealing depending on the structural changes of the SAM itself; by preannealing the SAM, the motion of the C(60) can be confined and unique structures resulting from interactions between the SAM molecules and C(60) can be produced.  相似文献

Three independent methods, (i) electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), (ii) carrying out the complete protein preparation procedure required for protein gel electrophoresis (GE) including extraction, precipitation, washing, and desalting with subsequent microwave digestion of the produced protein fractions for metal content quantification, and (iii) ultrafiltration for separating protein-bound and unbound metal fractions, were employed to elucidate the influences of protein sample preparation and GE running conditions on metal-protein bindings. A treatment of the protein solution with acetone instead of trichloroacetic acid or ammonium sulfate for precipitate formation led to a strongly enhanced metal binding capacity. The desalting step of the resolubilized protein sample caused a metal loss between 10 and 35%. The omission of some extraction buffer additives led to a diminished metal binding capacity of protein fractions obtained from the sample preparation procedure for GE, whereas a tenside addition to the protein solution inhibited metal-protein bindings. The binding stoichiometry of Cu and Zn-protein complexes determined by ESI-MS was influenced by the type of the metal salt which was applied to the protein solution. A higher pH value of the sample solution promoted the metal ion complexation by the proteins. Ultrafiltration experiments revealed a higher Cu- and Zn-binding capacity of the model protein lysozyme in both resolubilization buffers for 1D- and 2D-GE compared to the protein extraction buffer. Strongly diminished metal binding capacities of lysozyme were recorded in the running buffer of 1D-GE and in the gel staining solutions.  相似文献

A protocol for the partially automated computational investigation of crystal structure geometries of transition-metal complexes with unusual/outlier structural features has been developed for application in an e-science context. This protocol not only is envisaged as a part of knowledge base software packages such as Mogul but can also be used to further analyze the results of database searches. The issues arising from automating the initial input generation and DFT optimization of complexes have been examined and a procedure for extracting additional knowledge "value" from the computational results is described. Potential problems/weaknesses arising from the choice of computational approach and from errors in the crystal structure refinement are discussed. A range of likely outcomes of applying this protocol to database mining results is illustrated, with representative examples identified for tetracoordinate transition-metal complexes and ligand fragments (terminal chloride, monodentate phosphorus(III), and primary amine ligands) with unusual metal-ligand bond lengths.  相似文献

The occupation, energy separation, and order of the crystal-field-split 4f states are crucial for the understanding of the magnetic properties of rare-earth systems. We provide the experimental evidence that crystal-field-split 4f states exhibit energy dispersion in momentum space leading to variations of energy spacings between them and even of their energy sequence across the Brillouin zone. These observations were made by performing angle-resolved photoemission experiments on YbRh(2)Si(2) and properly simulated within a simple model based on results obtained by inelastic neutron scattering experiments and band structure calculations. Our findings should be generally applicable to rare-earth systems and have considerable impact on the understanding of magnetism and related phenomena.  相似文献

Carbon-carbon bonds are integral for pharmaceutical discovery and development. Frequently, CC bond reactions utilize expensive catalyst/ligand combinations and/or are low yielding, which can increase time and expenditures in pharmaceutical development. To enhance CC bond formation protocols, we developed a highly efficient, selective, and combinatorially applicable Friedel-Crafts acylation to acetylate the C-3 position of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines. The reaction, catalyzed by aluminum chloride, is both cost effective and more combinatorial friendly compared to acetylation reactions requiring multiple, stoichiometric equivalents of AlCl3. The protocol has broad application in the construction of acetylated imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines with an extensive substrate scope. All starting materials are common and the reaction requires inexpensive, conventional heating methods for adaptation in any laboratory. Further, the synthesized compounds are predicted to possess GABA activity through a validated, GABA binding model. The developed method serves as a superior route to generate C-3 acetylated imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine building-blocks for combinatorial synthetic efforts.  相似文献
