Effect of substrate temperature on electrical and magnetic properties of epitaxial La1−x Pb x MnO3 films

Epitaxial La_1−x Pb _x MnO₃ (LPMO) thin films, grown on (100) SrTiO₃ substrates by laser ablation technique at different temperatures between 600 and 850°C, have been characterized for electrical and magnetic properties. The temperature dependence of resistivity showed that the metal-insulator transition temperature (T _MI) decreases with increasing substrate temperature, which has been attributed to decrease in Pb content in the filsm. The YBa₂Cu₃O _x /La_1−x MnO₃ heterostructures, exhibiting both superconductivity and ferromagnetism, have been fabricated.     

Cross-phase modulational instability in an elliptical birefringent fiber with higher order nonlinearity and dispersion

We obtain conditions for the occurrence of cross-phase modulational instability in the normal dispersion regime for the coupled higher order nonlinear Schrödinger equation with higher order dispersion and nonlinear terms.     

Existence of best approximant in nonconvex domain

The present work deals with the establishment of an existence result on best approximation for the nonexpansive noncommuting mappings which is not necessarily linear and as defined on non-starshaped domain of q-normed space following Meinardus [7] hypothesis. Best proximity pair theorem in metrizable topological vector spaces

The object of this paper is to prove an existence result on best proximity pair. For this purpose, the class of factorizable multifunctions in approximately weakly compact, convex subset of metrizable topological vector space is used. As consequence, our theorem generalizes the result of Basha and Veeramani^[10]. Finally, certain known results have also been obtained as corollaries in this work.     

Symmetric Solutions of Nonlinear Fractional Integral Equations via a New Fixed Point Theorem under FG-Contractive Condition

We set up the existence of a symmetric outcome of a system of simultaneous nonlinear fractional integral equations, that arises in motion of water wave on smooth surface, with the help of a common fixed point theorem satisfying a generalized FG-contractive condition. To accomplish this, we introduce first the concept of generalized FG-contractive condition for two pairs of self-mappings in a complete metric space and then we establish requisites for common fixed point results for weakly compatible mappings followed by a suitable example.     

Spectrophotometric determination of thorium in standard samples and monazite sands based on the floated complex of thorium with N-hydroxy-N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine and thorin

A selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of Th(IV) has been based on the reaction with thorin and subsequent extraction of the red-orange coloured complex with N-hydroxy-N,N'-diphenylbenzamidine (HDPBA) in benzene as floated complex at pH 2.2. The complex in ethanol exhibits a maximum absorbance at 495 nm, with a molar absorptivity of 6.0x10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1), with a Sandell's sensitivity of 3.9x10(-3) microg cm(-2). The method follows Beer's law up to 3.0 microg Th(IV) ml(-1). None of the common cations and anions tested interfere. The detection limit of the method is 0.04 microg Th(IV) ml(-1), the RSD (n=10) is 1.4%. The method has been successfully employed for the determination of thorium in various standard and monazite samples.     

KY FAN TYPE BEST APPROXIMATION THEOREM FOR A CLASS OF FACTORIZABLE MULTIFUNCTIONS

An existence result on Ky Fan type best approximation is proved. For this purpose, a class of factorizable multifunctions and the other one being a demicontinuous, relative almost quasi-convex, onto function on an approximately weakly compact, convex subset of Hausdorff locally convex topological vector space are used. As consequence, this result extends the best approximation results of Basha and Veeramani [8] and many others.

Darbo type fixed and coupled fixed point results and its application to integral equation

We propose two new notion of contraction mappings involving measure of noncompactness in the frame work of Banach space and derive some basic Darbo type fixed and coupled fixed point results. The results are correlated with the classical Banach fixed point theorems. Further we show the applicability of obtained results to the theory of integral equations following a concrete example which illustrate the application part.
