Molecular integrals of Breit interaction over Laguerre Gaussian-type functions

The Breit interaction consists of two interactions of the magnetic and the retardation terms. The molecular integrals involving the former interaction are shown to be reduced to the familiar integrals of the Coulomb repulsion. The integrals involving the latter interaction are formulated over the Laguerre Gaussian-type functions and some advantages of the formulation are discussed. Bayman's gradient formula of the solid spherical harmonic is generalized to include the gradient of the homogeneous solid spherical harmonic.     

Sequence analysis for an unknown peptide by molecular secondary ion mass spectrometry

Positive and negative molecular secondary ion as well as metastable ion mass spectra for various peptides are investigated to clarify their fragmentation regularity. The fragmentation regularity is derived by considering all the possible bond cleavages at the peptide bond or at the adjacent bonds. It is demonstrated that the amino acid sequence for an unknown peptide can be determined by interpreting the positive and negative secondary ion and metastable ion mass spectra using this fragmentation regularity.     

A very crowded molecule: formation of bis(2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl)phosphinic chloride

Reaction of 2,4,6-ri-t-butylphenyllithium with phosphoryl trichloride gave a very crowded compound, bis(2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl)phosphinic chloride ($\text{1}$), and 2,4,6-tri-t-butylchlorobenzene ($\text{3}$), while the reaction with thiophosphoryl trichloride afforded $\text{3}$.     

Anion-exchange TLC of rhodium(III) and iridium(III,IV) on DEAE-cellulose or ECTEOLA-cellulose

Summary The TLC behaviour and separation of Rh(III), Ir(III) and Ir(IV) has been investigated in the two systems composed of DEAE-cellulose or ECTEOLA-cellulose using 3 M or 5 M HCl containing NaClO₃ as solvent. These systems, especially in combination with a sample treatment with LiCl, HCl and H₂O₂ solutions, allow the clean-cut separations of Rh(III) from Ir(III) as well as Ir(IV), coexisting in an extremely wide range of amounts and ratios (RhIr=1500 to 2001). A brief discussion on the characteristic adsorption behaviour of Rh(III), dependent on the previous history of the sample solutions, is also included.

Anionenaustausch-Dünnschicht-Chromatographie von Rhodium(III) und Iridium(III, IV) auf DEAE- oder ECTEOLA-Cellulose

Zusammenfassung Zur dünnschicht-chromatographischen Trennung von Rh und Ir wurden DEAE- bzw. ECTEOLA-Cellulose mit 3 M bzw. 5 M NaClO₃-haltiger Salzsäure als Lösungsmittel benutzt. Besonders in Verbindung mit einer Probevorbehandlung mit LiCl, HCl und H₂O₂ konnten mit diesen Systemen scharfe Trennungen von Rh(III), Ir(III) und Ir(IV) in einem weiten Konzentrationsbereich erzielt werden (RhIr=1500 bis 2001). Das Adsorptionsverhalten des Rh(III) in Abhängigkeit von der Vorbehandlung der Probelösung wird diskutiert.

¹⁵NO₂ (88 lines) in the ground state has been observed in the microwave spectral region up to 170 GHz. The least squares analysis gave the higher order distortion terms of rotational and spin-rotational Hamiltonian.
