We propose the application of nitroanisole as a detector for middle infrared (mid-IR) interferometry or holography. The present experiment utilizes the liquid form of nitroanisole, which has a thermal lens effect, i.e. a temperature dependent refractive index. Since the nitroanisole absorbs IR radiation as heat, it is possible to estimate the IR intensity distribution on the nitroanisole from the diffraction pattern made by visible laser light that is transmitted through the nitroanisole. In this study, the time resolution and the diffraction efficiency of the nitroanisole was measured under various conditions. The experimental results show that the nitroanisole has a time resolution as high as that of a standard video camera, as well as a high diffraction efficiency and the spatial resolution equivalent to that of a conventional IR camera. Furthermore, we confirmed that the phase shift in mid-IR region can be estimated by analyzing the change in the visible diffraction pattern. 相似文献

It is known that color constancy does not hold in a photograph. This could be because the photograph is recognized as a two-dimensional paper. Based on the concept of the recognized visual space of illumination (RVSI), it is predicted that color constancy holds in the photograph if it is perceived as a 3-D scene. We examined whether the color constancy held under a special viewing condition. A photograph of a room under incandescent illumination was shown under daylight illumination. We tested the neutral color perception of a stimulus on the photograph both with and without a dimension-up viewing box showing the photograph alone monocularly. The results showed good color constancy when a subject observed the photograph with the viewing box. It was also shown that the degree of color constancy decreased for a jumbled photograph without 3-D information. Our results suggest that the recognition of a space and illumination are important in color perception. 相似文献

BL43IR of SPring-8 has been constructed for the infrared materials researches, and it covers a wide spectral range from 100 to 20,000 cm−1. The microspectroscopy station of this BL has a spatial resolution smaller than 10 μm in diameter in the mid-infrared region without apertures. This station had been mainly used within mid-infrared region, and its performance in the far-infrared region had not been tested. In this paper, we examined the capability of the microscope in the far-infrared region and the spatial resolution is found to be almost at the diffraction limit. The microspectroscopy station has been revealed to have a good performance for doing materials researches in all the spectral range available. 相似文献

Thin films composed of polycyclohexane (PCHE), zinc(II)‐5,10,15,20‐tetra‐(2‐naphthyl)porphyrin (ZnTNpP), and [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) blends are prepared to investigate their potential for the controlled self‐assembly of a porphyrin/fullerene donor–acceptor complex in a polymer thin film. The compatibilities of PCHE/PCBM (p), PCHE/ZnTNpP (q), and ZnTNpP/PCBM (r) in these blends have a significant effect on the dispersion of the ZnTNpP/PCBM donor–acceptor complex in the PCHE thin film. When the compatibilities are p << q, r, and q ≈ r, the ZnTNpP/PCBM donor–acceptor complex is formed between the PCHE and PCBM phases. This concept to form a controlled self‐assembly of the ZnTNpP/PCBM donor–acceptor complex may be applied to various combinations of porphyrin/fullerene systems in polymer thin film solar cells to achieve excellent performance. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Reaction of excited ketoprofen (KP) with tryptophan (Trp) and tyrosine (Tyr) in a phosphate buffer solution was studied by the transient absorption spectroscopy. Both amino acids, which would interact with KP in bovine serum albumin [Monti, S. [2009] Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 11, 9104–9113], accelerated the proton transfer reaction to yield 3‐ethylbenzophenone ketyl biradical (EBPH) from KP carbanion, which was produced by photoexcitation of KP? through decarboxylation. By means of the actinometry method with benzophenone, the reaction quantum yield was successfully estimated to be fairly large, and Trp, Tyr, DOPA and 4‐methylphenol were found to be a good proton donor for the carbanion. The formation rate constants of EBPH by the amino acids (kr) were also determined to be (2.7 ± 0.1) × 109 M?1s?1 for Trp and (7.8 ± 0.4) × 108 M?1s?1 for Tyr, which were larger than those by basic amino acids and dipeptides reported. The reason for the highly efficient proton transfer reaction with Trp and Tyr would be explained by difference of the activation energy for the reaction. These results suggest that the proton transfer should be a key process for an initial photoreaction of KP with a protein, causing photosensitization in vivo. 相似文献
