Gold standard: A bis(Au(III) ) complex containing the title compound was prepared and characterized (see scheme; DDQ=2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone, Tf=trifluoromethanesulfonyl). Owing to the effective conjugative network over the flat and elongated rectangular molecular frame, this complex displays a remarkably red-shifted and sharp Q-band-like band at 1467?nm, multiple reversible redox potentials, and a large TPA cross-section value.  相似文献

We study the dynamic process of the multiple-vehicle collision when a vehicle stops suddenly in a traffic flow. We apply the optimal-velocity model to the vehicular motion. If a vehicle does not decelerate successfully, it crashes into the vehicle ahead with a residual speed. The collision criterion is presented by vi(t)/Δxi(t)→∞vi(t)/Δxi(t) if Δxi(t)→0Δxi(t)0 where vi(t)vi(t) and Δxi(t)Δxi(t) are the speed and headway of vehicle i at time t. The number of crumpled vehicles depends on the initial velocity, the sensitivity, and the initial headway. We derive the region map (or phase diagram) for the multiple-vehicle collision.  相似文献

Enhancement of titanium dioxide photocatalysis by water-soluble fullerenes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Fullerenes are known for their unique electronic properties including high electron affinity. Although use of fullerenes for scavenging photo-generated electrons from titanium dioxide particles has been demonstrated, no attempts have been made to utilize the unique properties of fullerenes to increase the efficacy of photocatalysis. The present study has demonstrated that a mixture of water-soluble polyhydroxy fullerenes (PHF) and titanium dioxide (anatase polymorph) enhances photocatalytic degradation of organic dye. The PHF molecules adsorbed to the surface of titanium dioxide due to electrostatic forces, with adsorption density being higher at lower pH values. The surface coverage of titanium dioxide nanoparticles by PHF molecules determined the extent of enhancement, with an optimum dosed weight ratio of PHF to titanium dioxide at 0.001. Hydroxylation and concomitant solubilization of fullerenes allow their unique electronic properties to be harnessed for photocatalysis.  相似文献

A MUC1-related glycopeptide having five core-2 hexasaccharide branches (C330H527N46O207, MW = 8450.9) was synthesized by a new strategy using a combination of microwave-assisted solid-phase synthesis (MA-SPGS) and enzymatic sugar elongation. Synthesis of a key glycopeptide intermediate was best achieved in a combination of PEGA [poly(ethylene glycol)-poly-(N,N-dimethylacrylamide) copolymer] resin and MA-SPGS using glycosylated amino acid building blocks with high speed and high purity. Deprotection of the glycopeptide intermediate and subsequent glycosyltransferase-catalyzed sugar elongations were performed for generation of the additional diversities with the sugar moieties of glycopeptides using beta1,4-galactosyltransferase (beta1,4-GalT) and two kinds of alpha2,3-sialyltransferases [ST3Gal III; alpha2,3-(N)-SiaT and ST3Gal II; alpha2,3-(O)-SiaT]. These reactions proceeded successfully in the presence of 0.2% Triton X-100 to convert the chemically synthesized trisaccharide glycans to disialylated hexasaccharide.  相似文献

In the current study, we used a combination of gel electrophoresis, circular dichroism, and UV melting analysis to investigate the structure and stability of G-quadruplexes formed by long telomeric DNAs from Oxytricha and human, where the length of the repeat (n)=4 to 12. We found that the Oxytricha telomeric DNAs, which have the sequence (TTTTGGGG)n, folded into intramolecular and intermolecular G-quadruplexes depending on the ionic conditions, whereas human telomeric DNAs, which have the sequence (TTAGGG)n, formed only intramolecular G-quadruplexes in all the tested conditions. We further estimated the thermodynamic parameters of the intramolecular G-quadruplex. We found that thermodynamic stabilities of G-quadruplex structures of long telomeric DNAs (n=5 to 12) are mostly independent of sequence length, although telomeric DNAs are more stable when n=4 than when n>or=5. Most importantly, when n is a multiple of four, the change in enthalpy and entropy for G-quadruplex formation increased gradually, demonstrating that the individual G-quadruplex units are composed of four repeats and that the individual units do not interact. Therefore, we propose that the G-quadruplexes formed by long telomeric DNAs (n>or=8) are bead-on-a-string structures in which the G-quadruplex units are connected by one TTTT (Oxytricha) or TTA (human) linker. These results should be useful for understanding the structure and function of telomeres and for developing improved therapeutic agents targeting telomeric DNAs.  相似文献

Oxidation of a directly meso-meso linked cyclic porphyrin tetramer 2 gave a porphyrin sheet 3. The symmetric square structure of 3 is indicated by its simple 1H NMR spectrum that exhibits only two signals for the porphyrin beta-protons. The absorption spectrum of 3 displays characteristic Soret-like broad bands and weak Q-bands, and its magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectrum exhibits a negative Faraday A term at the 762 nm band as a rare case, indicating the absorption as a transition from a nondegenerate level to a degenerate level. A slightly longer S1-state (1.1 ps) and smaller TPA cross section (2750 GM) than a tetrameric linear porphyrin tape also indicate its unique electronic properties. The porphyrin sheet 3 forms stable 1:2 complexes with guest molecules G1 and G2, whose 1H NMR spectra exhibit remarkable downfield shifts for the guest protons that are located just above the cyclooctatetraene (COT) core of 3, whereas the imidazolyl protons bound to the zinc(II) porphyrin local cores are observed at slightly upfield positions. These results have been qualitatively accounted for in terms of the presence of a strong paratropic ring current around the COT core that propagates through the whole pi-electronic network of 3, hence competing with and cancelling the weak diatropic ring currents of the local zinc(II) porphyrins. This explanation was supported by DFT calculation performed at the GIAO-B3LYP/6-31G level, which indicated large positive NICS values within the COT core and small NICS values within the local zinc(II) porphyrins.  相似文献

Application of aqueous methanesulfonic acid (MSA) for selective chemical removal of pyroglutamic acid (pGlu) residue from five biologically active pyroglutamyl-peptides (pGlu-X-peptides, X=amino acid residue at position 2) was examined. Gonadotropin releasing hormone (Gn-RH), dog neuromedin U-8 (d-NMU-8), physalaemin (PH), a bradykinin potentiating peptide (BPP-5a) and neurotensin (NT) as pGlu-X-peptides were incubated in either 70% or 90% aqueous MSA at 25 degrees C. HPLC analysis of the incubation solutions showed that the main decomposition product was H-X-peptide derived from each pGlu-X-peptide by the removal of pGlu. The results revealed that the pGlu-X peptide bond had higher susceptibility than various internal amide bonds in the five peptides examined, including the Trp-Ser bond in Gn-RH, the C-terminal Asn-NH(2) in d-NMU-8, and the Asp-Pro bond in PH, whose acid susceptibility is well known. Thus, mild hydrolysis with high concentrations of aqueous MSA may be applicable to chemically selective removal of pGlu from pGlu-X-peptides for structural examinations.  相似文献

The immunochromatographic assay is a well-known and convenient diagnostic system. In this report, the development of a novel enhancement assay for the test strips is described. Additionally, this highly sensitive immunochromatographic assay was applied to detect human chorionic gonadotropin hormone (HCG) as the model case. The primary antibody-conjugated gold nanoparticles were used as the enhancer of the standard method. The primary antibodies were immobilized within a defined detection zone (test line) on the diagnostic nitrocellulose membrane. The secondary antibodies were conjugated with colloidal gold nanoparticles. In combination with an effective sample pretreatment, the gold-conjugated antibodies and the primary antibodies formed a sandwich complex with the target protein. Within the test line, the sandwich complex was immobilized, and furthermore, concentrated by the enhancer resulting in a localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) phenomenon and a distinct red color on the test line. The intensity of color of the red test line (signal intensity), which correlated directly with the concentration of the target protein in the standard or spiked samples, was assessed visually and by computer image analysis using a three-determination analysis. Under optimum conditions, the limit of detection (LOD) for HCG assay was 1 pg/mL. When using human serum, 10 pg/mL of HCG could be detected. We have also spiked total prostate-specific antigen (TPSA) in female serum. The LOD for TPSA was determined as 0.2 ng/mL. With this method, the quantitative determination of the target protein could be completed in less than 15 min. Our novel immunochromatographic strips using the enhancing method based on LSPR of gold nanoparticles are useful as a rapid and simple screening method for the detection of important analytes for medical applications, environmental monitoring, food control, and biosecurity.   相似文献

Highly active catalysts for oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane with CO2 were characterized by temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), temperature-programmed oxidation (TPO), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X-ray absorption fine-structure (XAFS) analysis. In the active catalysts, Cr/H-ZSM-5 (SiO2/Al2O3 > 190), Cr6+ = O, or possibly Cr5+ = O was the catalytic species on the zeolite support. In contrast, little Cr6+ (or Cr5+) was detected in the less-active catalysts. The Cr6+ (or Cr5+) species was reduced to an octahedral Cr3+ species by treatment with ethane at 773 K, and the reduced Cr species was reoxidized to the Cr6+ (or Cr5+) species by treatment with CO2 at 673-773 K. The Cr redox cycle played an important role in the catalyst's high activity.  相似文献
