The transmission eigenchannels of A1 and Na atom bridges formed between jellium electrodes are investigated by a first-principles calculation. A transparent view on electronic transport in atom-size structures is provided by the decomposition of electronic states into eigenchannels. In particular we show how LDOS and current density resolved into eigenchannels reflect the spatial nature of atomic orbitals of the atoms composing the nanostructures. On the other hand, the eigenchannel DOS has already for the straight three-Al-atom bridge a 1D band character. From this we conclude that the transport through the single A1 atom in this case mainly has a 1D character (channel) in contrast to a 0D resonant tunneling (dot) character. The effect of the bending of the bridge shape is significant for the A1 bridges, but not for the Na bridges. 相似文献

Electronic structure of Cl covered Si (111) 7 × 7 surface is calculated on the basis of the first principle DV-Xα cluster method. Two typical reconstruction models of the Si (111) 7 × 7 surface, i.e. the buckled and the vacancy models, are investigated in detail. The surface hardness of titanium modified by laser irradiation at different wavelengths in nitrogen atmosphere was investigated. Further, surface characteristics such as morphology, chemical state, and chemical composition in the depth direction were also studied. The size and depth of the craters observed in the laser-irradiated spots increased monotonically with an increase in the laser power. Furthermore, the crater formed by the 532-nm laser was deeper than that formed by the 1064-nm laser for the same laser power. Laser power beyond a certain threshold value was required to obtain a titanium nitride layer. When the laser power exceeds the threshold value, a titanium nitride layer of a few tens of nanometers in thickness was formed on the substrate, whereas a titanium oxide layer containing small amounts of nitrogen was formed when the laser power is below the threshold value. Thus, it was shown that laser irradiation using appropriate laser parameters can successfully harden a titanium substrate, and the actual hardness of the titanium nitride layer, measured by nanoindentation, was approximately five times that of an untreated titanium surface. 相似文献

Double charged pion photoproductions from the deuteron have been studied at Research Center for Electron Photon Science (ELPH), Tohoku University. Tagged photon beams in an energy range of 0.67 ≤ E γ ≤ 1.08 GeV were impinged on the liquid deuteron target. Produced charged particles were observed with the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer2 (NKS2). Photoproduction of the neutral kaon on the deuteron has been investigated at the Research Center for Electron Photon Science, Tohoku University. We constructed the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer-2 for the detection of charged particles from the decay of the neutral kaon and the hyperon. We obtained a momentum distribution of K 0 with the inclusive measurement. It was consistent with the previous measurement. The total cross section of γ + d → K 0 + Λ + p was estimated from the measured integral cross section of γ + d → Λ + X. The total cross section with respect to the photon energy was compared with the theoretical calculations. It favored the Saclay-Lyon A model calculation with the ratio of the neutral to charged coupling constants of the axial-vector meson, K 1, as ~ ?1.5. The energy dependence and the magnitude of the total cross section were similar to the total cross section of γ + p → K + Λ. 相似文献

The aim of the present study was to form a nitride layer on a titanium (Ti) substrate through a compact laser-nitriding system comprising a focused pulsed Nd:YAG laser and nitrogen gas blow. To obtain a high-quality layer, the effects of pulse frequency and gas flow rate on the surface characteristics were investigated by using plasma emission analysis as well as X-ray analyses. Optical emission spectra from the laser-induced plasma mainly consisted of ionic Ti lines, and their intensities when the pulse frequency was 15 Hz were much higher than those for 8 Hz. Similarly, the reflections from the δ-TiN phase in the X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern were enhanced when using 15 Hz. On the other hand, the flow rate of nitrogen gas blow had a significant effect on the thickness of the thin oxide layer that formed above the nitride layer. Using a lower flow rate resulted in the formation of a thicker oxide layer. The higher pulse frequency and the faster flow rate were beneficial for obtaining a higher-quality layer because of the enhancement of nitridation and the suppression of oxidation, respectively. 相似文献

Undoped T′-type cuprates are believed to be charge transfer (Mott-Hubbard) insulators. Recent observation of undoped superconducting T′-type cuprates suggests half-filling weakly correlated metallic electron states (Tsukada et al.), which is against the fundamental picture. Here we report the local structures of undoped T′-(La3+,Y3+)2CuO4 and doped T′-(La3+,Ce4+)2CuO4 thin-film single crystals by polarized extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAS). The in-plane (E//ab) polarized Cu K-EXAFS data shows a remarkable Cu-O bond distance displacement. The broadened Cu-O distribution suggests a large local lattice distortion in T′-type structures, which might influence the electronic structure. 相似文献
