Two novel elemanolide dimers, vernodalidimers A (1) and B (2), possessing a rare tricyclic ortho ester moiety, were isolated from the seeds of Vernonia anthelmintica. Their structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR data and CD spectra. Mesoscopic nanomaterials with a size ranging from a few nanometers to hundreds of nanometers were generated on a metallic
thin film by interfering femtosecond (fs) laser processing. Because the nanomaterials seemed to demonstrate liquid behavior,
we named their structure nano water drop. The structure is considerably similar to that of a real water drop observed with a high-speed camera. Using the phase shift
between interfering beams, a duplicate structure was generated. This is a new surface modification technique, using a top-down

Cystathionine was cleaved into 2-ketobutyric acid, cysteine and ammonia by cystathionase. 2-Ketobutyric acid was converted into 3-ethyl-2-hydroxy-6,7-dimethoxyquinoxaline (EHDQ) by reaction with 1,2-diamino-4,5-dimethoxybenzene. When EHDQ was measured in a mobile phase of pH 2.1 using high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection, 250 pmol of L-cystathionine in 250 microliters of the reaction mixture could be determined. Because EHDQ has a strong fluorescence in a mobile phase of pH 6.5 at 447 nm, on excitation at 365 nm, as little as 2.5 pmol of cystathionine in 250 microliters of the reaction mixture could be determined by high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorimetric detection. Cystathionase activity was assayed on the basis of the same principle by determining cystathionine in as little as 63 ng of rat liver by fluorimetric detection. Cystathionine beta-synthase activity was measured by the same method by determining cystathionine formed in only 113 ng of wet weight of rat liver. Using these methods, both cystathionine beta- and gamma-lyase activities in Saccharomyces cerevisiae were determined, because quinoxaline derivatives from pyruvate and 2-ketobutyrate could be measured simultaneously by high-performance liquid chromatography. 相似文献
We succeeded in synthesizing ZnO nanorods by nanoparticle assisted pulsed-laser deposition (PLD) without using any catalyst where nanoparticles formed by condensation of ablated particles play an important role. The nanorods have an average size of about 120 nm. Stimulated emission was observed from ZnO nanorods at 388 nm by optical pumping. Thin films of LiNbO3 were deposited by pulsed-laser deposition (PLD). Crystalline and transparent films were deposited on a sapphire substrate at 400 °C, in 100 mTorr of oxygen, with a fluence lower than 1.2 J/cm2. Droplet free films were deposited with low ablation laser fluence by the eclipse method, and waveguide losses were 15.9 dB/cm and 3.1 dB/cm. Subsequently, second-harmonic generation (SHG) was achieved by waveguide mode phase matching. A gold thin film was machined by laser ablation using a femtosecond laser with mask patterns in the shape of lines and numbers. The patterns were successfully transferred with proper focusing and laser fluence. The optimal femtosecond laser fluence to keep the line width was about 5.2 mJ/cm2 on the mask, and 99 mJ/cm2 on the film. The processing resolution was 13 μm, and the narrowest line width was about 4 μm. 相似文献
The coordination polymerization of silyl‐protected ω‐alkenols such as ω‐alken‐α‐oxytriisopropylsilanes 1 provides poly(ω‐alkenyl‐α‐oxytriisopropylsilalne)s with a highly isospecific microstructure ([mmmm] > 95%) when a combination of [OSSO]‐type bis(phenolato) dichloro zirconium(IV) complex 2 and dried methylaluminoxane is used as the precatalyst and activator, respectively. The resulting siloxy‐substituted polymers could be efficiently transformed into the corresponding functionalized polyolefins, which contained up to 90% acetyl groups and ≈7% hydroxy groups in the terminal side chains.
Our previous studies of action spectra for UV‐B‐induced anthocyanin accumulation in cultured carrot cells indicated that a reduced form of pterin, possibly tetrahydrobiopterin, contributes to UV‐B photoreception. In this report, we provide additional evidence for the involvement of pterin in UV‐B light sensing. UV‐B‐induced phenylalanine ammonia‐lyase (PAL) activity was considerably suppressed by N‐acetylserotonin (an inhibitor of tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthesis), and this suppression was partially recovered by adding biopterin or tetrahydrobiobiopterin. In addition, protein(s) specifically bound to biopterin were detected by radiolabeling experiments in N‐acetylserotonin‐treated cells. Furthermore, diphenyleneiodonium, a potent inhibitor of electron transfer, completely suppressed UV‐B‐induced PAL activity. These results suggest the occurrence of an unidentified UV‐B photoreceptor (other than UVR8, the tryptophan‐based UV‐B sensor originally identified in Arabidopsis) with reduced pterin in carrot cells. After reexamining published action spectra, we suggest that anthocyanin synthesis is coordinately regulated by these two UV‐B sensors. 相似文献
