Using infrared high-speed video microscopy, we observed light-triggered transitory flagellar motions in flagellate reproductive cells (swarmers) of a brown alga, Scytosiphon lomentaria, under primary helical swimming conditions before and during negative phototactic orientation to unilateral actinic light. The posterior flagellum, which is autofluorescent and thought to be light-sensing, was passively dragged in the dark and exhibited one to several rapid lateral beats during orientation changes for phototactic steering. Notably, a brief cessation of anterior flagellar beating was occasionally observed concomitantly with rapid beats of the posterior flagellum. This behavior caused a pause in helical body rotation, which may contribute to the accuracy of phototactic steering. Thus, coordinated regulation of the movement of the two flagella plays a crucial role in phototactic steering.  相似文献

Exposure of sulfides and sulfoxides to trifluoromethanesulfonylimino(aryl)‐λ3‐bromane in dichloromethane at 0 °C results in a facile transfer of the sulfonylimino group to sulfur atoms and affords N‐triflylsulfilimines and sulfoximines in high yields under transition‐metal‐free conditions. Imination of (R)‐methyl p‐tolyl sulfoxide proceeded with predominant retention of configuration at the stereogenic sulfur center. The Hammett plot afforded ρ values of ?0.58 for para‐substituted thioanisoles and ?0.49 for their equivalent sulfoxides, which suggests a buildup of positive charge on the sulfur atoms of sulfides and sulfoxides in the transition state. Calculations suggest a bimolecular nucleophilic‐substitution mechanism on the negatively charged nitrogen atom of the sulfonylimino‐λ3‐bromane, which involves the attack of a sulfide from the opposite side to bromine(III).  相似文献

We consider a condition on a pair of the Alexander polynomials of knots which are realizable by a pair of knots with Gordian distance one. We show that there are infinitely many mutually disjoint infinite subsets in the set of the Alexander polynomials of knots such that every pair of distinct elements in each subset is not realizable by any pair of knots with Gordian distance one. As one of the subsets, we have an infinite set containing the Alexander polynomials of the trefoil knot and the figure eight knot. We also show that every pair of distinct Alexander polynomials such that one is the Alexander polynomial of a slice knot is realizable by a pair of knots of Gordian distance one, so that every pair of distinct elements in the infinite subset consisting of the Alexander polynomials of slice knots is realizable by a pair of knots with Gordian distance one. These results solve problems given by Y. Nakanishi and by I. Jong.  相似文献

Two classes of fused nitrogen heterocycles were designed as CK2 inhibitor candidates on the basis of previous structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies. Various dipyrrolo[3,2-b:2',3'-e]pyridine and benzo[g]indazole derivatives were prepared using transition-metal-catalysed cascade and/or multicomponent reactions. Biological evaluation of these candidates revealed that benzo[g]indazole is a promising scaffold for potent CK2 inhibitors. The inhibitory activities on cell proliferation of these potent CK2 inhibitors are also presented.  相似文献

The display of PHB depolymerase (PhaZ(RpiT1) ) from R. pickettii T1 on the surface of E. coli JM109 cells is realized using OprI of P. aeruginosa as the anchoring motif. The fusion protein is stably expressed and its surface localization is verified by immunofluorescence microscopy. The displayed PhaZ(RpiT1) retains its cleaving ability for soluble substrates as well as its ability to adsorb to the PHB surface, and also remains catalycically active in the degradation of insoluble polyester materials, in spite of the possible suppression of the enzyme movement on the polymer surface. The results demonstrate that PhaZ(RpiT1) -displaying E. coli shows potential for use as a whole-cell biocatalyst for the production of (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate monomers from insoluble PHB materials.  相似文献

Carbon contamination of optics is a serious issue in all soft X‐ray beamlines because it decreases the quality of experimental data, such as near‐edge X‐ray absorption fine structure, resonant photoemission and resonant soft X‐ray emission spectra in the carbon K‐edge region. Here an in situ method involving the use of oxygen activated by zeroth‐order synchrotron radiation was used to clean the optics in a vacuum ultraviolet and soft X‐ray undulator beamline, BL‐13A at the Photon Factory in Tsukuba, Japan. The carbon contamination of the optics was removed by exposing them to oxygen at a pressure of 10?1–10?4 Pa for 17–20 h and simultaneously irradiating them with zeroth‐order synchrotron radiation. After the cleaning, the decrease in the photon intensity in the carbon K‐edge region reduced to 2–5%. The base pressure of the beamline recovered to 10?7–10?8 Pa in one day without baking. The beamline can be used without additional commissioning.  相似文献

Optically active stannolanes and trigonal bipyramidal pentacoordinated tin complexes were readily prepared by radical cyclization of N-propargylated chiral aza-Morita-Baylis-Hillman adducts induced by Bu(3)SnH. Spontaneous parametric downconversion (SPDC) is widely used to generate entangled photon pairs; however, multi-pair emissions degrade the quality of the entanglement. We numerically evaluate polarization-entangled photon pairs created by SPDC. The effects of multi-pair emission events on the visibility of two-photon interference and on the fidelity (the probability overlap for ideal and real states) are analyzed using single-photon detectors that can count the number of incoming photons and discard multiphoton events. Compared with conventional threshold single-photon detectors, photon-number resolving single-photon detectors have higher fidelity for the same or lower visibility.  相似文献

Oxygen vacancy effect on the electronic state of Pt/NiO/Pt capacitor-like system is theoretically investigated by density functional theory (DFT) based first-principles calculations. The potential energy profile for electrons at the interface between Pt and NiO is found to play a major role on the transport properties alternations where conduction path begin to construct. Oxygen vacancies effect is summarized in the induction of a spatially localized spin-polarized state near the Fermi level of the surrounding Ni ions. Also, electron transport through O vacancy filaments (conduction paths) is via s-orbital sub-bands. We have found that the absence or presence of a vacancy near the interface at the edges of the vacancy filament causes a conductance jump from ~0 to 1e2/h respectively which corresponds to clearly observable switching.  相似文献
