The continuous emergence of antimicrobial resistance is causing a threat to patients infected by multidrug-resistant pathogens. In particular, the clinical use of aminoglycoside antibiotics, broad-spectrum antibacterials of last resort, is limited due to rising bacterial resistance. One of the major resistance mechanisms in Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria is phosphorylation of these amino sugars at the 3’-position by O-phosphotransferases [APH(3’)s]. Structural alteration of these antibiotics at the 3’-position would be an obvious strategy to tackle this resistance mechanism. However, the access to such derivatives requires cumbersome multi-step synthesis, which is not appealing for pharma industry in this low-return-on-investment market. To overcome this obstacle and combat bacterial resistance mediated by APH(3’)s, we introduce a novel regioselective modification of aminoglycosides in the 3’-position via palladium-catalyzed oxidation. To underline the effectiveness of our method for structural modification of aminoglycosides, we have developed two novel antibiotic candidates overcoming APH(3’)s-mediated resistance employing only four synthetic steps.  相似文献

We study general geometric techniques for bounding the spectral gap of a reversible Markov chain. A hyperfine field of 46.9±4.0 T at Gd nuclei in the intermetallic compound ZrFe2 was measured by the time-differential perturbed angular correlation method. This result indicates an additional contribution of 81 T to that measured in gadolinium metal and suggests a similarity between the magnetic properties of ZrFe2 and those of the rareearth intermetallic compounds.  相似文献

The diffusion of rhodamine-6G dye in ethanol is observed to be inhibited by optical pumping by a cadmium laser. The diffusion process is observed as a function of the solution temperature. The relative difference in diffusion coefficients with and without optical pumping is calculated. The effect is interpreted as being due to a stronger solvent-dye interaction in the first excited singlet state of rhodamine-6G.  相似文献

In this article, we study the C4- and D4-modules in terms of perspective direct summands, providing new characterizations and results. Endomorphism rings of C4-modules and extensions of right C4-rings are also investigated. A result of Ginn and Moss asserts that a left and right noetherian ring with essential right socle is left and right artinian. There are examples of right finitely embedded rings with ACC on left and right annihilators which are not artinian. Motivated by this, it was shown by Faith that a commutative, finitely embedded ring with ACC on annihilators (and square-free socle) is artinian (quasi-Frobenius). A ring R is called right minsymmetric if, whenever k R is a simple right ideal of R, then R k is also simple. In this paper we show that a right noetherian right minsymmetric ring with essential right socle is right artinian. As a consequence we show that a ring is quasi-Frobenius if and only if it is a right and left mininjective, right finitely embedded ring with ACC on right annihilators. This extends the known work in the artinian case, and also extends Faith's result to the non-commutative case.  相似文献

The photodissociation dynamics of iodocyclohexane (C6H11I) at 266 and 277 nm has been investigated by ion velocity imaging technique. The velocity distributions, angular distributions and relative quantum yields are obtained for I (2P3/2) (denoted I) and I (2P1/2) (denoted I*) fragments. The energy partitioning shows that about 70% of the available energy goes into the internal excitation of the photofragments for both dissociation channels. From the angular distributions, we found the value of the anisotropy parameter β for I* at the corresponding excitation wavelength was less than that for I. Based on the measured angular distributions and relative quantum yields, the relative fractions of each excited state to the products are determined. The curve crossing probabilities between the 3Q0 and 1Q1 states are determined 0.503 at 266 nm and 0.443 at 277 nm.  相似文献
