Let us contemplate the problem of solving the linear or non-linear equations of the form \(Tx=gx\) in the framework of metric space. When T is a non-self mapping and g is a self-mapping, it may cause the non-existence of a solution to the preceding equation. At this juncture, one is of course interested in computing an approximate solution \(x^*\) in the space such that \(Tx^*\) is as close to \(gx^*\) as possible. To be precise, if T is from A to B and g is from A to A, where A and B are subsets of a metric space, one is concerned with the computation of a global minimizer of the mapping \(x\longrightarrow d(gx, Tx)\) which serves as a measure of closeness between Tx and gx. This paper is concerned with the resolution of the aforesaid global minimization problem if T is a proximal contraction and g is an isometry in the frameworks of fairly and proximally complete spaces.  相似文献

The study explores the biosorption potential of nanocellulose (NC) to remove an insecticide, chlorpyrifos (CP), from aqueous solutions using the batch method. Biosorption kinetics were very fast and reached equilibrium in 60 min, and the experimental kinetic data had fit well with the pseudo-second-order model. Film diffusion was the rate-limiting step for the biosorption of CP onto crystalline nanocellulose (CNC). The equilibrium sorption was well described by the Sips and Langmuir isotherm models. The values of maximum sorption capacities (7.237–5.017 mg/g for the Sips and 12.325–7.247 mg/g for the Langmuir model) decreased with an increase in temperature from 288 to 308 K, signifying biosorption of CP is an exothermic process. Based on the central composite design (CCD), two-factor interaction (2FI) and quadratic models, the correlation between the effects of variable parameters on the CP biosorption onto NC was evaluated. The chemometric analyses suggested that 1.5 g/l NC required 20 min to biosorb 5 mg/l CP to yield an efficiency of 99.3%. Overall, the results demonstrated that NCs can be a promising biosorbent for the removal of pesticides from aqueous streams.  相似文献

A novel reaction involving in situ redox conversion of glyoxylate esters to glycine is described. Simple starting materials and mild conditions for the synthesis of glycine derivatives probably indicate a pathway towards prebiotic chemistry. This proceeds analogous to Cannizzaro reaction involving ammonia therefore it can be termed as intramolecular Aza-Cannizzaro type reaction. This reaction is examined in detail with an aid of computational analysis to corroborate the proposed mechanism.  相似文献

The study was aimed to identify cytotoxic leads from Abutilon indicum leaves for treating glioblastoma. The petroleum ether extract, methanol extract (AIM), chloroform and ethyl acetate sub-fractions (AIM-C and AIM-E, respectively) prepared from AIM were tested for cytotoxicity on U87MG human glioblastoma cells using 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. These extracts exhibited considerable activity (IC50 values of 42.6–64.5 μg/mL). The most active AIM-C fraction was repeatedly chromatographed to yield four known compounds, methyl trans-p-coumarate (1), methyl caffeate (2), syringic acid (3) and pinellic acid (4). Cell viability assay of 14 against U87MG cells indicated 2 as most active (IC50 value of 8.2 μg/mL), whereas the other three compounds were much less active. Interestingly, compounds 14 were non-toxic towards normal human cells (HEK-293). The content of 2 in AIM-C was estimated as 3% by HPLC. Hence, presence of some more active substances besides methyl caffeate (2) in AIM-C is anticipated.  相似文献

In the present study, Zingiber officinale is used for the synthesis of Zingiber officinale capped silver nanoparticles (ZOE-AgNPs) and compares the antimicrobial efficacy and compressive strength of conventional glass ionomer cement (GIC) combined with ZOE-AgNPs, lyophilized miswak, and chlorhexidine diacetate (CHX) against oral microbes. Five groups of the disc-shaped GIC specimens were prepared. Group A: lyophilized miswak and GIC combination, Group B: ZOE-AgNPs and GIC combinations, Group C: CHX and GIC combination, Group D: ZOE-AgNPs + CHX + GIC; Group E: Conventional GIC. Results confirmed the successful formation of ZOE-AgNPs that was monitored by UV-Vis sharp absorption spectra at 415 nm. The X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) results revealed the formation of ZOE-AgNPs with a mean size 10.5–14.12 nm. The peaks of the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were appearing the involvement of ZOE components onto the surface of ZOE-AgNPs which played as bioreducing, and stabilizing agents. At a 24-h, one-week and three-week intervals, Group D showed the significantly highest mean inhibitory zones compared to Group A, Group B, and Group C. At microbe-level comparison, Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus aureus were inhibited significantly by all the specimens tested except group E when compared to Candida albicans. Group D specimens showed slightly higher (45.8 ± 5.4) mean compressive strength in comparison with other groups. The combination of GIC with ZOE-AgNPs and chlorhexidine together enhanced its antimicrobial efficacy and compressive strength compared to GIC with ZOE-AgNPs or lyophilized miswak or chlorhexidine combination alone. The present study revealed that The combination of GIC with active components of ZOE-AgNPs and chlorhexidine paves the way to lead its effective nano-dental materials applications.  相似文献

Experiments have been conducted in a low speed horizontal wind tunnel to study the interaction of radiation and conduction on mixed convective heat transfer from an upward facing horizontal flat plate in air. Differential interferometer has been used to measure local convective heat fluxes. It has been observed that interaction between surface radiation and convection is significant for a low thermal conductivity plate material. On the basis of the previous and current studies, it can be stated that the multi-mode interaction problem is an outcome of the nature of convective boundary layer. The interaction between different modes of heat transfer would remain similar irrespective of the nature of convection (free/mixed or forced).  相似文献
