Chiral 4-piperidones and their bicyclic analogs. Strategy of stereoselective synthesis (review)

The principal stereoselective paths of synthesis and the stereochemistry of chiral 4 piperidones and their bicyclic analogs are examined critically in this article.     

Rearrangements and cyclizations—XVI: Ring-opening reactions of 1,1-diacetylcyclopropane with hydrazine and hydroxylamine derivatives as the novel synthesis of β-X-ethyl substituted pyrazoles and isoxazoles

The reactions of 1,1-diacetylcyclopropane (1) with a number of hydrazine and hydroxylamine derivatives proceed via cyclopropane ring opening with incorporation of external nucleophile (solvent) to give the 4-β-X-ethyl derivatives of 3,5-dimethylpyrazoles and -isoxazoles, a novel route to these heterocycles. This ring cleavage occurs especially smoothly in water as a solvent. A rationale for this unusually mild nucleophilic cyclopropane ring opening is discussed.     

Synthesis of 1,3,5-tribromo- and triiodophloroglucinol tris(triflates)

A method for the preparative synthesis of 1,3,5-tribromophloroglucinol and 1,3,5-triiodophloroglucinol tris(triflates) was suggested. This synthesis was shown to be extremely sensitive to reaction temperature conditions.     

Methods of synthesis and synthetic application of α-diazomethylphosphonates

Data on methods of synthesis and reactivity of α-diazomethylphosphonic acid esters are classified. Main approaches to obtain diazomethylphosphonate ester (the Seyferth—Gilbert reagent) as well as α-substituted diazomethylphosphonates are considered. The most important reactions of α-diazomethylphosphonates are discussed: [1+2] cycloaddition to alkenes, insertion into heteroatom—heteroatom bonds, reactions with aldehydes and ketones, being of interest as preparative methods to obtain cyclopropane phosphonates, α-substituted methylphosphonic esters and alkynes, correspondingly.
