Co-Pt bimetallic catalysts for the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in hydrogen-containing mixtures

The performance of a Co-Pt powder and of Co-Pt catalysts supported on γ-Al₂O₃ and on the graphite-like carbon material Sibunit in selective CO oxidation in hydrogen-containing mixtures is considered. Fine particles of metal-metal solid solutions and intermetallides were obtained by the decomposition of a Co- and Pt-containing double complex salt in a hydrogen atmosphere at ～400°C. As compared to their Pt and Co monometallic counterparts, the bimetallic catalysts are more active and allow the CO concentration in hydrogen-containing mixtures to be reduced from 1 to 10^?3 vol %. This effect is likely due to the formation of bimetallic particles of a Co-Pt solid solution on the support surface.     

Reaction of 3,4-diaminofurazan with β-keto esters

The reaction of some linear and cyclic -keto esters with 3,4-diaminofurazan was investigated. Products of condensation at the keto group and the corresponding furazanodiazepinones were isolated and characterized. NQR spectra of alloys of antimony-cadmium-zinc system

Conclusions A number of metal alloys in the Sb-Cd-Zn system was studied for the first time by the NQR method on the^121,123Sb nuclei. Quantum-chemical analysis of the features of the electronic structure of model bis(imidazole)iron porphyrins as compared to data from Mössbauer spectroscopy

A quantum-chemical analysis of the electronic structure of two low-spin complexes, viz., bis(imidazole)hemichrome [Fe(III)P]2Im (S = 1.2) and bis(imidazole)hemochrome [Fe(II)P]·2Im (S = 0), which simulate hemi- and hemoproteins (P denotes porphyrin, Im denotes imidazole, and S is the spin of the iron ion), has been carried out by the extended Hückel method with SCF convergence with respect to the charges of the atoms. The data on the electronic structure of the complexes have been used for calculations of the quadrupole splitting in the⁵⁷Fe Mössbauer spectra of these compounds. An analysis of the contributions of the valence electrons of the Fe atom and the ligands to the quadrupole splitting as a function of the structure of the iron ion, its electronic environment, and the parameters of the first coordination sphere has been carried out. Good agreement between the calculated and experimental values of the quadrupole splitting has been obtained.
