Optimisation of alignment materials for minimising residual retardation in in-plane switching liquid crystal display

The light leakage in a black state of in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display (LCD) associated with rubbing process has been investigated. The mechanical rubbing process with a cloth caused orientation disorders in the liquid crystal directors and these partial orientation disorders result in residual retardations of the IPS LCD, causing the light leakages at the black state. In this study, we theoretically estimated how the light leakage is associated with the rubbing uniformity using 2 × 2 Jones matrix equation and also experimentally confirmed how it is associated with structural properties of the alignment layer. The light leakage was clearly reduced in the alignment layer with reduced crystallinity and flexibility.     

Upper semicontinuity result for the solution mapping of a mixed parametric generalized vector quasiequilibrium problem with moving cones

In this paper, we give sufficient conditions for the upper semicontinuity property of the solution mapping of a parametric generalized vector quasiequilibrium problem with mixed relations and moving cones. The main result is proven under the assumption that moving cones have local openness/local closedness properties and set-valued maps are cone-semicontinuous in a sense weaker than the usual sense of semicontinuity. The nonemptiness and the compactness of the solution set are also investigated.     

关于BL-代数的模糊滤子与模糊理想

在BL-代数中引入模糊超滤子和模糊固执滤子的概念,证明了如下条件对于BL-代数的非常数模糊滤子f来说是等价的:(1)f是布尔的和素的,(2)f是蕴涵的和素的,(3)f是超的,(4)f是固执的。应用模糊正蕴涵滤子给出G-代数的若干特征性质。提出BL-代数模糊理想的概念,给出一些重要例子,并通过例子说明在BL-代数中模糊理想一般不能由模糊滤子导出。同时,从模糊理想出发构造了商BL-代数,并建立了相应的同态基本定理。最后,研究了BL-代数的几类模糊理想及其相互关系,给出模糊布尔理想、模糊素理想、模糊超理想的特征性质。     

On relations between weak approximation properties and their inheritances to subspaces

It is shown that for the separable dual X^∗ of a Banach space X, if X^∗ has the weak approximation property, then X^∗ has the metric weak approximation property. We introduce the properties W^∗D and MW^∗D for Banach spaces. Suppose that M is a closed subspace of a Banach space X such that M^⊥ is complemented in the dual space X^∗, where for all m∈M}. Then it is shown that if a Banach space X has the weak approximation property and W^∗D (respectively, metric weak approximation property and MW^∗D), then M has the weak approximation property (respectively, bounded weak approximation property).     

Modeling special-day effects for forecasting intraday electricity demand

We propose and apply a novel approach for modeling special-day effects to predict electricity demand in Korea. Notably, we model special-day effects on an hourly rather than a daily basis. Hourly specified predictor variables are implemented in the regression model with a seasonal autoregressive moving average (SARMA) type error structure in order to efficiently reflect the special-day effects. The interaction terms between the hour-of-day effects and the hourly based special-day effects are also included to capture the unique intraday patterns of special days more accurately. The multiplicative SARMA mechanism is employed in order to identify the double seasonal cycles, namely, the intraday effect and the intraweek effect. The forecast results of the suggested model are evaluated by comparing them with those of various benchmark models for the following year. The empirical results indicate that the suggested model outperforms the benchmark models for both special- and non-special day predictions.     

Analytic Feynman integrals of transforms of variation of cylinder type functions over Wiener paths in abstract Wiener space

In this paper, we evaluate various analytic Feynman integrals of first variation, conditional first variation, Fourier-Feynman transform and conditional Fourier-Feynman transform of cylinder type functions defined over Wiener paths in abstract Wiener space. We also derive the analytic Feynman integral of the conditional Fourier-Feynman transform for the product of the cylinder type functions which define the functions in a Banach algebra introduced by Yoo, with n linear factors.     

Vector Variational Inequalities for Nondifferentiable Convex Vector Optimization Problems

In this paper, we consider a nondifferentiable convex vector optimization problem (VP), and formulate several kinds of vector variational inequalities with subdifferentials. Here we examine relations among solution sets of such vector variational inequalities and (VP). The strong approximation property and the weak bounded approximation property

We show that the strong approximation property (strong AP) (respectively, strong CAP) and the weak bounded approximation property (respectively, weak BCAP) are equivalent for every Banach space. This gives a negative answer to Oja's conjecture. As a consequence, we show that each of the spaces _c0$c_0$ and _?1${?}_1$ has a subspace which has the AP but fails to have the strong AP.
