The problem of viscous fluid past an axisymmetric body embedded in a fluid saturated porous medium is studied using the Brinkman's extension. A general formula for the drag on the body is derived in the form of a limit of an expression involving the stream function characterizing the flow. The flow past an axisymmetric approximate sphere is also considered. The stream function in this case is obtained in terms of Bessel functions and Gegenbauer's functions. The drag acting on the body is evaluated by using the formula derived. Its variation is studied with respect to geometric and permeability parameters. Novel 1‐carboxymethyl‐6‐fluoro‐7‐cyclic amino‐substituted‐4‐oxo‐1,4‐dihydroquinolone‐3‐carboxylic acids 7a , 7b , 7c , 7d , 7e , 7f , 7g , 7h , 7i , 7j , 7k , 7l , 7m , 7n were synthesized as a new class of quinolones. Ethyl‐6‐fluoro‐7‐chloro‐1,4‐dihydro‐4‐quinoline‐3‐carboxylic acid was prepared from conventional method and reacted with ethyl bromoacetate to furnish N‐carboxymethyl derivatives. The compounds were screed against various Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacterial strains. Antibacterial activity data is validated by molecular docking studies. 相似文献

Microfluidic adhesion-based cell separation systems are of interest in clinical and biological applications where small sample volumes must be processed efficiently and rapidly. While the ability to capture rare cells from complex suspensions such as blood using microfluidic systems has been demonstrated, few methods exist for rapid and nondestructive release of the bound cells. Such detachment is critical for applications in tissue engineering and cell-based therapeutics in contrast with diagnostics wherein immunohistochemical, proteomic, and genomic analyses can be carried out by simply lysing captured cells. This paper demonstrates how the incorporation of four-arm amine-terminated poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) molecules along with antibodies within alginate hydrogels can enhance the ability of the hydrogels to capture endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) from whole human blood. The hydrogel coatings are applied conformally onto pillar structures within microfluidic channels and their dissolution with a chelator allows for effective recovery of EPCs following capture. 相似文献

An efficient alumina-supported CuO-catalyzed O-arylation of phenols and aliphatic alcohols with various aryl as well as heteroaryl halides under ligand-free conditions are reported. This protocol provides a variety of diaryl ether and bis-diaryl ether motifs by reacting different aryl/aliphatic halides with differently substituted phenols and saturated alcohols in the presence of a catalytic amount of CuO on alumina and KOH as a base at moderate temperature under nitrogen atmosphere. The described methodology is simple, straightforward and efficient to afford the cross-coupled products in high yields under ligand-free conditions. A simple and rapid analytical method based on in-matrix ethyl chloroformate (ECF) derivatization has been developed for the
quantitative determination of bisphenol-A (BPA) in milk and water samples. The samples containing BPA were derivatised with
ECF in the presence of pyridine for 20 s at room temperature, and the non-polar derivative thus formed was extracted using
polydimethylsiloxane solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fibres with thicknesses of 100 μm followed by analysis using gas chromatography–mass
spectrometry. Three alkyl chloroformates (methyl, ethyl and isobutyl chloroformate) were tested for optimum derivatisation
yields, and ECF has been found to be optimum for the derivatisation of BPA. Several parameters such as amount of ECF, pyridine
and reaction time as well as SPME parameters were studied and optimised in the present work. The limit of detection for BPA
in milk and water samples was found to be 0.1 and 0.01 μg L−1, respectively, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 3:1. The limit of quantitation for BPA in milk and water was found to be 0.38
and 0.052 μg L−1, respectively, with a signal-to-noise ratio of 10:1. In conclusion, the method developed was found to be rapid, reliable
and cost-effective in comparison to silylation and highly suitable for the routine analysis of BPA by various food and environmental

In this paper we investigate the influence of viscous dissipation and Soret effect on natural convection heat and mass transfer from vertical cone in a non-Darcy porous media saturated with non-Newtonian fluid. The surface of the cone and the ambient medium are maintained at constant but different levels of temperature and concentration. The Ostwald-de Waele power law model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid behavior. The governing equations are non-dimensionalized into non-similar form and then solved numerically by local non-similarity method. The effect of non-Darcy parameter, viscous dissipation parameter, Soret parameter, buoyancy ratio, Lewis number and the power-law index parameter on the temperature and concentration field as well as on the heat and mass transfer coefficients is analyzed. 相似文献

Assisting and opposing flows in a mixed convection boundary layer flow over an isothermal vertical plate are studied for the case of variable physical properties and uniform free stream. Fluid viscosity and thermal conductivity are assumed to be linear functions of temperature. Using local similarity the flow and heat transfer quantities are found to be functions of four parameters, i.e. Richardson number, Prandtl number, a viscosity variation parameter and a thermal conductivity variation parameter. Numerical solutions are obtained by two methods, a shooting technique and Nachtsheim-Swigert technique, for selected values of parameters appropriate for the fluids considered and specific temperatures of the plate and ambient fluid. For assisting flows, there exist solutions for all values of Richardson number while for opposing flows solutions exist only for a finite set of its values and, in addition, there also exist dual solutions. Important flow and heat transfer quantities of practical interest are determined and the influence of different parameters is discussed. 相似文献

The present paper reports that TL glow curve and kinetic parameter of Eu3+ doped SrY2O4 phosphor irradiated by beta source. Sample was prepared by solid state preparation method. Sample was characterized by XRD analysis and particle size was calculated by Debye–Scherrer formula. The sample was irradiated with Sr-90 beta source giving a dose of 10 Gy and the heating rate used for TL measurements are 6.7 °C/s. The samples display good TL peaks at 106 °C, 225 °C and 382 °C. The corresponding kinetic parameters are calculated. The photoluminescence excitation spectrum at 247 and 364 nm monitored with 400 nm excitation and the corresponding emission peaks at 590, 612 and 624 nm are reported. 相似文献
