Reactions of the third-row transition metal cation Os(+) with H(2), D(2), and HD to form OsH(+) (OsD(+)) were studied using a guided ion beam tandem mass spectrometer. A flow tube ion source produces Os(+) in its (6)D (6s(1)5d(6)) electronic ground state level. Corresponding state-specific reaction cross sections are obtained. The kinetic energy dependences of the cross sections for the endothermic formation of OsH(+) and OsD(+) are analyzed to give a 0 K bond dissociation energy of D(0)(Os(+)-H) = 2.45 ± 0.10 eV. Quantum chemical calculations are performed here at several levels of theory, with B3LYP approaches generally overestimating the experimental bond energy whereas results obtained using BHLYP and CCSD(T), coupled-cluster with single, double, and perturbative triple excitations, levels show good agreement. Theory also provides the electronic structures of these species and the potential energy surfaces for reaction. Results from the reactions with HD provide insight into the reaction mechanism and indicate that Os(+) reacts via a direct reaction. We also compare this third-row transition metal system with the first-row and second-row congeners, Fe(+) and Ru(+), and find that Os(+) reacts more efficiently with dihydrogen, forming a stronger M(+)-H bond. Reaction of thiophene-2-methylamine with one or two equivalents of PPh2Cl in the presence of NEt3, proceeds in thf to give thiophene-2-(N-diphenylphosphino)methylamine, 1a and thiophene-2-(N,N-bis(diphenylphosphino))methylamine, 2a respectively, under anaerobic conditions. Oxidations of 1a and 2a with aqueous hydrogen peroxide, elemental sulfur or gray selenium in thf gives the corresponding oxides, sulfides and selenides [Ph2P(E)NHCH2-C4H3S] (E: O 1b, S 1c, Se 1d) and [(Ph2P(E))2NCH2-C4H3S], (E: O 2b, S 2c, Se 2d) respectively, in high yield. Furthermore, two novel Ru(II) complexes with the P-N ligands 1a and 2a were synthesized starting with the complex [Ru(η6-p-cymene)(μ-Cl)Cl]2. The complexes were fully characterized by analytical and spectroscopic methods. 31P-{1H} NMR, DEPT, 1H-13C HETCOR or 1H-1H COSY correlation experiments were used to confirm the spectral assignments. The molecular structure of thiophene-2-(N-diphenylthiophosphino)methylamine was also elucidated by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Following activation by NaOH, compounds 3 and 4 catalyze the transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone derivatives to 1-phenylethanol derivatives in the presence of iso-PrOH as the hydrogen source. [Ru(Ph2PNHCH2-C4H3S)(η6-p-cymene)Cl2], 3 and [Ru((PPh2)2NCH2-C4H3S)(η6-p-cymene)Cl]Cl, 4 complexes are suitable catalyst precursors for the transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone derivatives in 0.1 M iso-PrOH solution. Notably 4 acts as an excellent catalyst giving the corresponding alcohols in excellent conversions up to 99% (TOF ? 744 h−1). 3-(Trifluoromethyl)-substituted (F) 2-vinyl-2-diazocarbonyl compounds, having cis-relationship of functional groups (AlkO2C, CN2), do not undergo 1,5-electrocyclization, but readily take part in the tandem Staudinger-diaza-Wittig reactions to produce trifluoromethyl-substituted pyridazines, whereas their non-fluorinated analogs (H), with trans-configuration, easily cyclize to pyrazoles, but remain intact under Staudinger-diaza-Wittig reaction conditions. Metal-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation is a powerful and practical method for the reduction of ketones to produce the corresponding secondary alcohols, which are valuable building blocks in the pharmaceutical, perfume, and agrochemical industries. Hence, a series of novel chiral β-amino alcohols were synthesized by chiral amines with regioselective ring opening of (S)-propylene oxide or reaction with (S)-(+)-2-hydroxypropyl p-toluenesulfonate by a straightforward method. The chiral ruthenium catalytic systems generated from [Ru(arene)(μ-Cl)Cl]2 complexes and chiral phosphinite ligands based on amino alcohol derivatives were employed in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones to give the corresponding optically active alcohols; (2S)-1-{[(2S)-2-[(diphenylphosphanyl)oxy]propyl][(1R)-1-phenylethyl]amino}propan-2-yldiphenylphosphinitobis[dichol-oro(η6-benzene)ruthenium(II)] acts an excellent catalyst in the reduction of α-naphthyl methyl ketone, giving the corresponding alcohol with up to 99% ee. The substituents on the backbone of the ligands were found to have a remarkable effect on both the conversion and enantioselectivity of the catalysts. A powerful new continuous process for the formation and use of donor/acceptor‐substituted carbenes is described. The safety profile of diazo group transfer on methyl phenylacetate was determined including kinetic studies in batch and in flow using in‐line IR analysis. Batch work‐up and liquid chromatography were circumvented by developing an optimized liquid/liquid flow separation method providing aryl diazoacetates in high purity. Fast screening of reaction conditions in flow with in‐line IR analysis allowed rapid reaction optimization. Finally, a multistep process of diazo group transfer, extraction, separation and subsequent diazo decomposition combined with multiple X?H insertion reactions was established. 相似文献
