Amphiphilic polymers can self assemble into micellar nano-particles and can be effectively used as nano carriers for drug delivery. A number of macromolecular delivery systems are under investigation to improve the efficacy of prospective drugs. In this study, seven new co-polymers were synthesized under mild reaction conditions in bulk (without solvent) by chemoenzymatic approach using Candida antarctica lipase (Novozyme 435) and molecular sieves, subsequently these polymers were treated with different long chain bromoalkanes and acid chlorides for attachment of the lipophilic moieties to the backbone polymer via an ether or an ester linkage, respectively in order to make them amphiphilic. These synthesized nano-particles demonstrated high drug loading capacity and have the potential to encapsulate hydrophobic drugs.  相似文献

Ternary ZnCdO thin films oriented along c-axis have been successfully deposited on p-Si (1 0 0) substrates using sol–gel spin coating route. To optimize most suitable annealing temperature for the Zn1−xCdxO thin films; these films with selected cadmium content x = 0.10 were treated at annealing temperatures from 300 °C up to 800 °C in oxygen ambient after deposition. The structural and optical properties of deposited thin films have been characterized by X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectra. The results show that the obtained films possess high crystallinity with wurtzite structure. The crystallite size, lattice parameters, lattice strain and stress in the deposited films are determined from X-ray diffraction analysis. The band gap energy increased as a function of annealing temperatures as observed from optical reflectance spectra of samples. The presence of Cd in the deposited films is confirmed by energy dispersive spectrum and it is observed that Cd re-evaporate from the lattice with annealing. The photoluminescence measurements as performed at room temperature did not exhibit any luminescence related to oxygen vacancies defects for lower annealing temperatures, as normally displayed by ZnO films. The green yellow luminescence associated to these defects was observed at higher annealing temperatures (≥700 °C).  相似文献

The homometallic hexameric ruthenium cluster of the formula [RuIII63‐O)2(μ‐OH)2((CH3)3CCO2)12(py)2] ( 1 ) (py=pyridine) is solved by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Magnetic susceptibility measurements performed on 1 suggest that the antiferromagnetic interaction between the RuIII centers is dominant, and this is supported by theoretical studies. Theoretical calculations based on density functional methods yield eight different exchange interaction values for 1 : J1=?737.6, J2=+63.4, J3=?187.6, J4=+124.4, J5=?376.4, J6=?601.2, J7=?657.0, and J8=?800.6 cm?1. Among all the computed J values, six are found to be antiferromagnetic. Four exchange values (J1, J6, J7 and J8) are computed to be extremely strong, with J8, mediated through one μ‐hydroxo and a carboxylate bridge, being by far the largest exchange obtained for any transition‐metal cluster. The origin of these strong interactions is the orientation of the magnetic orbitals in the RuIII centers, and the computed J values are rationalized by using molecular orbital and natural bond order analysis. Detailed NMR studies (1H, 13C, HSQC, NOESY, and TOCSY) of 1 (in CDCl3) confirm the existence of the solid‐state structure in solution. The observation of sharp NMR peaks and spin‐lattice time relaxation (T1 relaxation) experiments support the existence of strong intramolecular antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the metal centers. A broad absorption peak around 600–1000 nm in the visible to near‐IR region is a characteristic signature of an intracluster charge‐transfer transition. Cyclic voltammetry experiments show that there are three reversible one‐electron redox couples at ?0.865, +0.186, and +1.159 V with respect to the Ag/AgCl reference electrode, which corresponds to two metal‐based one‐electron oxidations and one reduction process.  相似文献

The concentration of uranium has been assessed in drinking water samples collected from different locations in Bathinda district, Punjab, India. The water samples are taken from hand pumps and tube wells. Uranium is determined using fission track technique. Uranium concentration in the water samples varies from 1.65±0.06 to 74.98±0.38 μg/l. These values are compared with safe limit values recommended for drinking water. Most of the water samples are found to have uranium concentration above the safe limit. Analysis of some heavy metals (Zn, Cd, Pb and Cu) in water is also done in order to see if some correlation exists between the concentration of uranium and these heavy metals. A weak positive correlation has been observed between the concentration of uranium and heavy metals of Pb, Cd and Cu.  相似文献

The ion abundances in the tandem mass spectra of oxocarbenium ions generated from aldohexoses and ketohexoses under electrospray ionization conditions depend on their stereochemistry. The ratios of the abundances of two of the major ions m/z 85 and 91 are different in the aldohexoses and the ketohexoses. Principal component analysis (PCA) allowed visual differentiation of the hexose isomers. However, identification of an individual hexose was difficult. The data were subjected to neural network analysis (NNA) using a multilayer perceptron (MLP) model. The model was first trained using the data from the 11 hexoses and then used to identify the hexoses using fresh data acquired later. There was 100% identification of the various hexoses. The hexose units in methyl glucoside, mannoside and galactoside could also be identified accurately. The method can therefore be used for the characterization of hexose units from monosaccharides and glycosides.  相似文献

Wear studies were performed on polystyrene (PS)-poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) mixed polymer brushes and corresponding monobrushes in a dried state. The aim was to study the wear mechanism in polymer brush surfaces as well as to investigate the effect of switching of PS + PAA binary brush surfaces (on treatment with the selective solvents for the PS and PAA) on the wear process. Wear experiments were carried out using atomic force microscopy (AFM) under a controlled environment. The wear experiments were performed as a function of scan number using a sharp silicon nitride tip to induce the wear on the sample surfaces. The wear mechanism on different brush surfaces was influenced by molecular entanglement as well as adhesion and friction on the sample surface. The wear process on the PS monobrush surface treated with toluene took place via formation of the ripples. On the other hand, a typical wear mode observed on the PAA monobrushes was removal of the polymeric material from the surface. For the mixed brush surface treated with toluene (selective solvent for PS) where PS chains dominated the top of the sample surface, the typical wear mode observed was ripple formation similar to that observed for the PS monobrushes. However, when a mixed brush was treated with ethanol and pH 10 water so that PAA chains dominated the top layer, wear occurred via removal of material. The amount of wear on the surfaces increased with the number of scans. Furthermore, the load and scan velocity dependence of the wear process was also investigated. Wear on polymer brush surfaces increased on increasing the load and/or decreasing the scan speed. The present study shows that wear can be controlled/tuned using mixed responsive brushes.  相似文献

A novel and facile approach of pathogenic bacteria detection, which utilizes fluorescent sensing and bacteria capture with Magnetic carbon dots (Mag-CDs), was proposed in this work. Magnetic nanoparticles were synthesized and then decorated with C-dots, and further functionalized with amine groups (chitosan). In this way, bacteria were strongly anchored on the hybrid material Mag-CDs for highly sensitive fluorescent detection. The Mag-CDs were characterized by UV–vis, FT-IR spectra, TEM images, XRD, and EDX. The characterizations validate the fabrication of amine-Mag-CDs and the promising applications of this material. Fluorescence spectroscope and MALDI-MS were used for the detection and identification of bacterial strains, respectively. The limit of detection for Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli was found to be 3 × 102 and 3.5 × 102 cfu mL−1, respectively. With these encouraging results, it is expected that it would open revenues for promising applications of Mag-CDs nanomaterial.  相似文献

Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a popular synthetic polymer used in the field of cardiac tissue engineering (CTE) due to its non-toxic degraded by products and low cost manufacturing method. However, hydrophobic nature of this material limits its wide spread application in different cell interaction processes. Therefore, current study aims to chemically modify PCL made random and aligned nanofibers with collagen coating mimicking the oriented matrix of the cardiac cells. Morphological and chemical properties of the electrospun PCL nanofibers were evaluated by SEM, FTIR, XRD and water contact angle measurement. Results indicated that the anisotropic characteristics of aligned nanofibers promoted cell attachment and alignment, which closely match the requirements of native cardiac cells. Thus, aligned nanofibers could be preferred for cardiac tissue regeneration and defects over random nanofibers.  相似文献
