Further study of theE/f 1 (1420) meson in central production

We have studied the reactions \(({{\pi ^ + } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\pi ^ + } p}} \right. \kern-0em} p})p \to ({{\pi ^ + } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\pi ^ + } p}} \right. \kern-0em} p})(K\bar K\pi )p\) where the \(K\bar K\pi \) system is centrally produced, at 85 GeV/c and 300 GeV/c using the CERN Omega spectrometer. A spin-parity analysis of theK _S ⁰ K ^± π ^? system shows the presence of a strongJ ^PC=1⁺⁺ signal which we identify as theE/f ₁ (1420) meson. We also find evidence for the decayE/f ₁(1420)→K _S ⁰ K _S ⁰ π ⁰ which determines theC-parity of this state to be positive. Alternative explanations of the data have been tested and ruled out. Hence we obtain the quantum numbers of theE/f ₁ (1420) to beI ^G(J^PC)=0⁺(1⁺).     

基于三维静电势参数研究C60溶解性的构效关系

在量子化学从头算基础上,对一系列溶剂化合物分子进行了结构优化和三维静电势参数计算,运用多元线性回归分析和神经网络方法对C60在121种不同溶剂的溶解性与计算的结构参数进行了构效关系研究.用建立起来的QSPR 关系式对15种不同结构类型溶剂进行了预测,并阐述了C60溶质与不同溶剂之间的相互作用,获得了满意的结果.     

Palladium-catalyzed addition of hydroxylamine derivatives to Baylis-Hillman acetate adducts

The first use of hydroxylamine derivatives as the aminoxy equivalent of nucleophiles in palladium catalyzed addition to Baylis-Hillman acetate adducts is described. The reaction proceeds smoothly to give the substituted allyloxy amines in good yield and selectivity.     

Living/controlled copolymerization of acrylates with nonactivated alkenes

The living/controlled copolymerization of methyl acrylate with 1‐alkenes and norbornene derivatives through several radical polymerization techniques has been achieved. These techniques include atom transfer radical polymerization, reversible addition–fragmentation transfer polymerization, nitroxide‐mediated polymerization, and degenerative transfer polymerization. These systems display many of the characteristics of a living polymerization process: the molecular weight increases linearly with the overall conversion, but the polydispersity remains low. Colorimetric determination of molybdenum using sodium diethyldithiocarbamidate as reagent

Summary A method for the photometric estimation of molybdenum(V) by extraction of the complex formed with NaDDTC in 5 N HCl solution is discussed. The reduction of Mo(VI) to Mo(V) is achieved with hydrazine sulphate. The colour intensity of the chloroform extract of the complex is measured at 450 nm. Beer's law is obeyed up to 500 g/25 ml of molybdenum.

Zusammenfassung Zur photometrischen Molybdänbestimmung wird der Komplex mit Diäthyldithiocarbamidat verwendet, der in 5 N salzsaurer Lösung gebildet und mit Chloroform extrahiert wird. Mo(VI) wird mit Hydrazinsulfat zur fünfwertigen Stufe reduziert. Die Messung erfolgt bei 450 nm; das Beersche Gesetz ist bis zu 500 g Mo/25 ml erfüllt.

     

Valence fluctuation in some Yb intermetallics by X-ray photoemission and X-ray absorption

The valence state of Yb in some of its intermetallics, YbNi₂Ge₂, YbCu₂Si₂ and YbPd₂Si₂ has been investigated by L_III(Yb) absorption edges and X-ray pnotoelectron spectra in the 4f and 4d regions. These studies establish the presence of mixed valence in all three systems and illustrate the utility of 4f and 4d spectra in the study of mixed valence in Yb compounds.
