The first heterogeneous Sonogashira coupling reaction of aryl halides with terminal alkynes catalyzed by diatomite‐supported palladium(II) salophen complex

We report here our observation that, using appropriate reaction conditions, the Sonogashira reaction can be performed without the need for copper catalyst and solvent. Our approach involves the use of diatomite‐supported palladium(II) salophen complex as a catalyst and triethylamine as a base. The methodology works, to differing extents, for aryl iodides and bromides. This heterogeneous catalyst can be reused at least five times without any decrease in activity. Viscosity Prediction for Oxygen,Nitrogen and Their Mixtures at Zero and Moderately Dense Regimes via Semi‐Empirically Based Assessment

The viscosity coefficients for the gaseous states of N₂ and O₂ and their mixtures are determined at zero and moderately density regimes. The Lennard‐Jones 12–6 (LJ 12–6) potential energy function is used as the initial model potential required y the technique. The interaction potential energies from the inversion procedure reproduce the viscosity commensurate to the best measurements. The initial density dependence of gaseous viscosity coefficient according to the Rainwater‐Friend theory, which was given by Najafi et al., has been considered for pure N₂ and pure O₂.     

Vibration based algorithm for crack detection in cantilever beam containing two different types of cracks

In this paper, a simple method for detection of multiple edge cracks in Euler–Bernoulli beams having two different types of cracks is presented based on energy equations. Each crack is modeled as a massless rotational spring using Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics (LEFM) theory, and a relationship among natural frequencies, crack locations and stiffness of equivalent springs is demonstrated. In the procedure, for detection of m cracks in a beam, 3m equations and natural frequencies of healthy and cracked beam in two different directions are needed as input to the algorithm.     

Ergodic theorems for hybrid sequences in a Hilbert space with applications

In this paper, we introduce the notion of generalized hybrid sequences, extending the notion of nonexpansive sequences introduced and studied in our previous work Djafari Rouhani (1981, 1990, 1990, 1997, 2002, 2004, 2002)  , , , , ,  and , and prove ergodic and convergence theorems for such sequences in a Hilbert space H$H$. Subsequently, we apply our results to prove new fixed point theorems for generalized hybrid mappings, first introduced in Kocourek et al. (2010)  [14], Takahashi and Takeuchi (2011)  [20], defined on arbitrary nonempty subsets of H$H$.     

On characterization of the core of lane covering games via dual solutions

The lane covering game (LCG) is a cooperative game where players cooperate to reduce the cost of cycles that cover their required lanes on a network. We discuss the possibilities/impossibilities of a complete characterization of the core via dual solutions in LCGs played among a collection of shippers, each with a number of service requirements along some lanes, and show that such a complete characterization is possible if each shipper has at most one service requirement.
