Densities and viscosities of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium nitrate [Bmim][NO3], and its binaries with alcohol (ethanol, 1-propanol, or 1-butanol) were measured at different temperatures. The densities and viscosities of pure ionic liquid were correlated successfully by empirical equations. The Vogel–Fulcher–Tammann equations can fit the experimental data of viscosities for pure IL. Excess molar volume and viscosity deviations were calculated for the binaries. The excess molar volumes have negative deviations from the ideal solution. 相似文献

A novel micellar selectivity triangle (MST) is developed and used to characterize and classify the chemical selectivities of pseudo-phases in electrokinetic chromatography (EKC). The MST scheme is, in concept, similar to the widely known solvent selectivity triangle (SST) originally developed by Snyder. However, the MST is based on linear solvation energy relationships. Thus it incorporates the solvation characteristics of both the pseudo-phase and the bulk solvent; while the SST is basically for classification of pure solvents. The similarities and differences of these pseudo-phases are determined by the relative scales of hydrogen bond donating ability (Xb), hydrogen bond accepting ability (Xa) and dipolarity (Xs). The MST scheme is used for characterization and classification of a wide range of pseudo-phases such as micelles, polymers, vesicles, liposomes, as well as mixed systems such as mixed micelles, mixed polymer–surfactants, organically modified pseudo-phases, etc. Over seventy pseudo-phases were examined and four clusters of pseudo-phases with different selectivity patterns are recognized that include pseudo-phases with strong hydrogen bond acidities (e.g. fluorinated micelles or micelles modified with fluorinated alcohols), strong hydrogen bond acceptor pseudo-phases (such as bile salts, liposomes, microemulsions, as well as biphasic octanol–water system), strong dipolar phase of a class of polymeric pseudo-phase, and pseudo-phases with intermediate hydrogen bonding and dipolarity [like sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and its analogs as well as organically modified SDS]. The MST scheme is also useful in identifying pseudo-phases that closely resemble the selectivities of octanol–water for determination of octanol–water partition coefficients by EKC. 相似文献

The surface of a LDPE was modified by Ar, O2, N2, CO2 gaseous plasma. The changes in surface morphology and surface wettability were investigated using AFM and SEM. The surface
chemical changes of LDPE were also characterized by FTIR-ATR. The SEM and AFM results demonstrated variable changes in surface
roughness for different types of plasma gas used, the changes being more for the Ar and N2 plasma treatments. Considering the nature of the LDPE film, XRD studies were carried out to determine changes in the percentage
crystalinity. The results showed that all low pressure O2, Ar, N2, CO2 gas plasmas improved the wettability of LDPE films. Contact angles decreased significantly depending on the discharge powers
and exposure times. Surface morphology was also found to vary with plasma discharge powers, exposure times, and the type of

Central composite design (CCD) and response surface methodology (RSM) were developed as experimental strategies for modeling and optimization of the influence of some variables on the performance of a new PVC membrane triiodide ion-selective electrode. This triiodide sensor is based on triiodide-clozapine ion-pair complexation. PVC, plasticizers, ion-pair amounts and pH were investigated as four variables to build a model to achieve the best Nernstian slope (59.9 mV) as response. The electrode is prepared by incorporating the ion-exchanger in PVC matrix plasticized with 2-nitrophenyl octal ether, which is directly coated on the surface of a graphite electrode. The influence of foreign ions on the electrode performance was also investigated. The optimized membranes demonstrate Nernstian response for triiodide ions over a wide linear range from 5.0 x 10(-6) to 1.0 x 10(-2)mol L(-1) with a limit of detection 2.0 x 10(-6) mol L(-1) at 25 degrees C. The electrodes could be used over a wide pH range 4-8, and have the advantages of easy to prepare, good selectivity and fast response time, long lifetime (over 3 months) and small interferences from hydrogen ion. The proposed electrode was successfully used as indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of triiodide ions and ascorbic acid. 相似文献

Sodium-dicyclohexyl- 18-crown-6 complex cation was used as carrier for the uphill transport of zinc as Zn(SCN)42? complex anion. By using L-cysteine as a metal ion acceptor in the receiving phase at the optimized pH of 7.6, the amount of zinc transport through the liquid membrane after 90 min was 97.2 ± 1.0%. The selectivity and efficiency of zinc transport from aqueous solutions containing equimolar mixtures of Ag+, Cd2+ Co2+, Cu2+, Fe2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Pd2+, Sr2+, Bi3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+ ions was investigated. The mean centering of ratio kinetic profiles method was used for the simultaneous determination of binary mixtures of Ni(II) and Zn(II) in water samples, without prior separation steps. The method is based on the difference in the rate of the reaction of Ni(II) and Zn(II) with xylenol orange at pH 5.3. The method allows rapid and accurate determination of Ni(II) and Zn(II). The analytical characteristics of the methods for the simultaneous determination of binary mixtures of Ni(II) and Zn(II) were calculated. The linear range was 0.025‐2.400 μg mL?1 and 0.025‐2.20 μg mL?1 for Zn(II) and Ni(II), respectively. Interference effects of common anions and cations were studied, and the method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Zn(II) and Ni(II) in water samples. 相似文献
