Liquid chromatography of palladium and non-ferrous metal chelates with 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol

1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol has been used for extraction concentration of palladium, copper, cobalt and nickel from aqueous solutions and subsequent separation of the chelates obtained, by means of high-pressure liquid chromatography. A technique for determining microamounts of palladium in aqueous solutions in the presence of 100-fold ratio of copper and 80-fold ratio of cobalt has been developed.     

Cathodoluminescence spectra of Cd1−x Zn x Te solid solutions

An investigation is made of the cathodoluminescence, electrical properties, and structural features of crystals of Cd_1−xZn_xTe solid solutions with composition x ranging from 0.02 to 0.20 mole fraction as compared with CdTe and ZnTe. The main bands of the cathodoluminescence spectra are identified within the range 500–2700 nm. The role of oxygen in Cd_1−xZn_xTe cathodoluminescence is shown. Intermolecular interactions of a para-nitroaniline molecule in binary solvents

The composition of the solvation sheath of a p-nitroaniline molecule in the ground state in mixed solvents (hexane+tetrachloromethane and hexane+isopropyl alcohol) is determined based on the dependence of the ππ*-absorption band shift on the composition of the binary solvent. The interaction of the nitro-group with isopropyl alcohol and water is considered based on results of calculations by the method of intermediate neglect of differential overlap (INDO) and experimental data. It is shown that when the hydrogen bond is formed, the lower singlet level corresponds to the ππ* state. Because of the high rate constant of intercombination conversion, only phosphorescence is characteristic of p-nitroaniline. Tomsk State University. Features of Mercury Input from the Point Source into Environmental Components of Undrained Lake.

Undrained Bol'shoe Yarovoe lake is chosen as an object of research. It is located in the western part of Kulundinskaya hollow and has total catchment area 1210 m². Bed sediments of lake are represented by the muddy silts with mirabilite layers.     

Protolytic properties and reactivity of aminomethylated calix[4]resorcarenes in reactions with esters of phosphorus acids

The acid-base properties and the kinetics of reactions of aminomethylated calix[4]resorcarenes (AMC) withp-nitrophenyl esters of phosphorus acids in aqueous solutions of propan-2-ol (80 vol.% PrⁱOH) were studied by potentiometry, UV spectrophotometry, and³¹P NMR spectroscopy. The effect of the length of the hydrocarbon radical and substituents at the nitrogen atom on the protolytic properties and reactivity of AMC was studied. The reactions studied occur in two stages. At the first stage, phosphorylated AMC are formed, which are hydrolyzed to the corresponding acids at the second stage. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
