The readily available and inexpensive BINOL in combination with Ti(O(i)Pr)(4) is found to catalyze the reaction of an alkynylzinc reagent with various types of aldehydes including aliphatic aldehydes, aromatic aldehydes, and other alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes to generate chiral propargyl alcohols with 91-99% ee at room temperature. No previous chiral catalysts have exhibited such a broad scope of enantioselectivity with respect to the type of aldehydes for this reaction. [reaction: see text]  相似文献

N-tris[Hydroxymethyl]-4-aminobutanesulfonic acid (TABS) has been investigated for the determination of the values of the second dissociation constant, pK 2, in water at 12 temperatures in the range 5–55°C, including 37°C. This zwitterionic compound is useful as a secondary pH standard in the range of pH (7–9) for physiological applications. The electromotive force (emf) measurements have been carried out using a hydrogen gas electrode and a silver–silver chloride electrode. The values of pK 2 are fitted as a function of temperature with the following results: pK 2 = 1671.305/T+14.8737–2.04383 ln T, where T is the thermodynamic temperature in Kelvins. The experimental values of pK 2 are 8.834 ± 0.0005 and 8.539 ± 0.0004 at 25 and 37°C, respectively. The related thermodynamic quantities, G°, H°, S°, and C p ° characterizing the dissociation process have been derived from the pK 2 and its temperature coefficients.  相似文献

The effects of differences in lipoprotein content on the distribution of the novel hydrophobic photosensitizer n-butyl-3-[18-(2-butylcarbamoyl-ethyl)-3,7,12,17-tetramethyl-18,13-divinyl-22,24-dihydro-porphin-2-yl]propionamide (PP-N-3) and haematoporphyrin ester (HpE), a relatively hydrophilic photosensitizer, in human (HS) and foetal calf sera (FCS), were investigated. The binding characteristics of human and foetal calf low-density lipoprotein (LDL) were characterised using a human fibroblast line (Vag 12). The uptake into cells of HpE and PP-N-3 was also examined. A comparison of the lipoprotein content, composition and receptor-binding characteristics of foetal calf and human serum was also carried out. LDL content was measured directly using sequential ultracentrifugation to isolate LDL. In our study, we found haematoporphyrin ester to bind to human very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), LDL and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in the ratio 2:31:65. In the case of PP-N-3 this ratio was 56:10:33. As VLDL was not detected in foetal calf serum, only binding to LDL and HDL was observed. Using the sequential ultracentrifugation technique, foetal calf serum was found to contain LDL which in turn did bind to human LDL receptors. The uptake of PP-N-3 and HpE in the presence of low density lipoprotein from foetal calf serum (FC-LDL) was not significantly different to values observed in the presence of human serum low density lipoprotein (HS-LDL).  相似文献

One-pot reaction of tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (TREN), [CuI(MeCN)4]PF6, and paraformaldehyde affords a mixed-valent [TREN4CuIICuICuI3-OH)](PF6)3 complex. The macrocyclic azacryptand TREN4 contains four TREN motifs, three of which provide a bowl-shape binding pocket for the [Cu33-OH)]3+ core. The fourth TREN caps on top of the tricopper cluster to form a cryptand, imposing conformational constraints and preventing solvent interaction. Contrasting the limited redox capability of synthetic tricopper complexes reported so far, [TREN4CuIICuICuI3-OH)](PF6)3 exhibits several reversible single-electron redox events. The distinct electrochemical behaviors of [TREN4CuIICuICuI3-OH)](PF6)3 and its solvent-exposed analog [TREN3CuIICuIICuII3-O)](PF6)4 suggest that isolation of tricopper core in a cryptand enables facile electron transfer, allowing potential application of synthetic tricopper complexes as redox catalysts. Indeed, the fully reduced [TREN4CuICuICuI3-OH)](PF6)2 can reduce O2 under acidic conditions. The geometric constraints provided by the cryptand are reminiscent of Nature''s multicopper oxidases (MCOs). For the first time, a synthetic tricopper cluster was isolated and fully characterized at CuICuICuI (4a), CuIICuICuI (4b), and CuIICuIICuI (4c) states, providing structural and spectroscopic models for many intermediates in MCOs. Fast electron transfer rates (105 to 106 M−1 s−1) were observed for both CuICuICuI/CuIICuICuI and CuIICuICuI/CuIICuIICuI redox couples, approaching the rapid electron transfer rates of copper sites in MCO.

Population matrices have been calculated from molecular orbital wave functions of N2O4, B2Cl4, and B2F4 in order to understand further the bonding in these molecules which are isoelectronic in valence electrons but different in structure. C2H4 and C3H4 have been included in this study as check cases.
Zusammenfassung Ausgehend von Molekülorbitalen werden Besetzungsmatrizen für N2O4, B2Cl4 und B2F4 berechnet, um die Bindung in diesen Molekülen, die in den Valenzelektronen isoelektronisch sind, aber unterschiedliche Strukturen aufweisen, besser zu verstehen. C2H4 und C3H4 sind in dieser Untersuchung als Prüffälle eingeschlossen.

Résumé Des matrices d'occupation ont été calculées à partir des orbitales moléculaires de N2O4, B2Cl4 et B2F4, afin de comprendre plus profondément la liaison dans ces molécules, qui sont isoélectroniques par leurs électrons de valence, mais qui n'ont pas la même structure. Thresholds for the detection of temporal gaps were measured using two types of signals to mark the gaps: bandpass-filtered noises and sinusoids. The first experiment used seven subjects with relatively flat unilateral moderate cochlear hearing loss. The normal ear of each subject was tested both at the same sound-pressure level (SPL) as the impaired ear, and at the same sensation level (SL). Background noise was used to mask spectral "splatter" associated with the gap. For the noise markers, gap thresholds tended to be larger for the impaired ears than for the normal ears when the comparison was made at equal SPL; the difference was reduced, but not eliminated, when the comparison was made at equal SL. Gap thresholds for both the normal and impaired ears decreased as the center frequency increased from 0.5 to 2.0 kHz. For the sinusoidal markers, gap thresholds were often similar for the normal and impaired ears when tested at equal SPL, and were larger for the normal ears when tested at equal SL. Gap thresholds did not change systematically with frequency. Gap thresholds using sinusoidal markers were smaller than those using noise markers. In the second experiment, three subjects with single-channel cochlear implants were tested. Gap thresholds for noise bands tended to increase with increasing center frequency when the noise bandwidth was fixed, and to decrease with increasing bandwidth when the center frequency was fixed. Gap thresholds for sinusoids did not change with center frequency, but decreased markedly with increasing level.
