Salt-tolerant yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae ARIF KD-003 was applied to highly sensitive and reproducible absorbance-based biochemical oxygen demand (BODAB-ScII) measurement for seawater. In the previous work, we have studied the BODAB-ScI method using normal Baker's yeast S. cerevisiae, and the excellent feature of the Baker's yeast as uniformly sustainable in solution could successfully be utilized. However, the BODAB-ScI responses were disappeared by the existence of chloride ion as well as seawater. In the present method, uniformity in solution was also observed with S. cerevisiae ARIF KD-003, and salt-tolerance of the yeast was observed even in saturate concentration of sodium chloride. Next, characterizations of the influences of pH and incubation temperature were investigated. After optimum conditions were obtained, two calibration curves were made between 0.33 and 22 mg O2 L−1 BOD using standard solution of glucose glutamic acid (GGA) or mixture of GGA and artificial seawater. Then, excellent reproducibility as the averages of relative standard deviation (R.S.D.av) in two calibration curves (nine points each) was successfully obtained at 1.10% at pure water or 1.03% at artificial seawater standard, respectively. In addition, the 3σ lower detection limit was calculated to be 0.07 mg O2 L−1 BOD, and 0.11 mg O2 L−1 BOD was experimentally detected by increase of the sample volume at 1.5-folds. The storage stability of the S. cerevisiae ARIF KD-003 was obtained at least 4 weeks.  相似文献

It is argued that the dual transformation of non-Abelian monopoles occurring in a system with gauge symmetry breaking GH is to be defined by setting the low-energy H system in Higgs phase, so that the dual system is in confinement phase. The transformation law of the monopoles follows from that of monopole-vortex mixed configurations in the system (with a large hierarchy of energy scales, v1v2) , under an unbroken, exact color-flavor diagonal symmetry . The transformation property among the regular monopoles characterized by π2(G/H), follows from that among the non-Abelian vortices with flux quantized according to π1(H), via the isomorphism π1(G)π1(H)/π2(G/H). Our idea is tested against the concrete models—softly-broken supersymmetric SU(N), SO(N) and USp(2N) theories, with appropriate number of flavors. The results obtained in the semiclassical regime (at v1v2Λ) of these models are consistent with those inferred from the fully quantum-mechanical low-energy effective action of the systems (at v1,v2Λ).  相似文献

Aggregation behavior including dilute solution property and surface‐activity of the amphiphilic random copolymer composed of 2‐(acrylamido)‐2‐methylpropanesulfonic acid and tris(trimethylsiloxy)silylpropylmethacrylate (AMPS/TRIS copolymer) in aqueous solution were studied by static light scattering (SLS), dynamic light scattering (DLS), surface tension measurement, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The surface tension measurement made it clear that AMPS/TRIS copolymer exhibited weaker surface‐activity than a typical low‐molecular weight surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate in water, that is, there were no plateau of surface tension γ versus concentration and no critical micelle concentration (CMC) in the whole concentration studied. SLS and DLS analyses, and TEM revealed that AMPS/TRIS copolymer self‐associated into imperfect core‐shell micelles having hydrophobic TRIS core surrounded by hydrophilic AMPS shell in water. AMPS shell was considered as a hard shell due to the stiffness of AMPS chain in water. TRIS chain could not densely aggregate in water due to the large steric hindrance between bulky trimethylsiloxy groups despite its hydrophobic nature, thereby providing TRIS core with less‐dense structure. The balance between the spreading force of stiff AMPS chain and the cohesion force of bulky TRIS chain provides the driving force for forming the unique micelle having less‐dense TRIS core and hard AMPS shell. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The chiral Gross–Neveu model or equivalently the linearized Bogoliubov–de Gennes equation has been mapped to the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) hierarchy in the Ablowitz–Kaup–Newell–Segur formalism by Correa, Dunne and Plyushchay. We derive the general expression for exact fermionic solutions for all gap functions in the arbitrary order of the NLS hierarchy. We also find that the energy spectrum of the n  -th NLS hierarchy generally has n+1n+1 gaps. As an illustration, we present the self-consistent two-complex-kink solution with four real parameters and two fermion bound states. The two kinks can be placed at any position and have phase shifts. When the two kinks are well separated, the fermion bound states are localized around each kink in most parameter region. When two kinks with phase shifts close to each other are placed at distance as short as possible, the both fermion bound states have two peaks at the two kinks, i.e., the delocalization of the bound states occurs.  相似文献

Topological superconductors classified as type D admit zero-energy Majorana fermions inside vortex cores, and consequently the exchange statistics of vortices becomes non-Abelian, giving a promising example of non-Abelian anyons. On the other hand, types C and DIII admit zero-energy Dirac fermions inside vortex cores. It has been long believed that an essential condition for the realization of non-Abelian statistics is non-locality of Dirac fermions made of two Majorana fermions trapped inside two well-separated vortices as in the case of type D. Contrary to this conventional wisdom, however, we show that vortices with local Dirac fermions also obey non-Abelian statistics.  相似文献

Novel 1-aryl-1H- and 1-aryl-3-heteroaryl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoxalines (flavazoles) 9a-c, 12, 13 were synthesized from 3-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoxaline 5 and the 3-triazolylmethylene-2-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline 6, respectively, via a facile hydrazone synthesis using aryl diazonium salts. Some of the above flavazoles and their related compounds exhibited the antifungal activity in some extent. The above results are described.  相似文献

Bogomolny–Prasad–Sommerfield (BPS) vortices in U(N)U(N) gauge theories have two layers corresponding to non-Abelian and Abelian fluxes, whose widths depend nontrivially on the ratio of U(1)U(1) and SU(N)SU(N) gauge couplings. We find numerically and analytically that the widths differ significantly from the Compton lengths of lightest massive particles with the appropriate quantum number.  相似文献

Recently a BPS Alice string has been found in a \(U(1)\times SO(3)\) gauge theory coupled with three charged complex scalar fields in the triplet representation (in JHEP 1709:046 arXiv:1703.08971 [hep-th], 2017). It is a half BPS state preserving a half of the supercharges when embedded into a supersymmetric gauge theory. In this paper, we study zero modes of a BPS Alice string. After presenting U(1) and translational zero modes, we construct the effective action of these modes. In contrast to a previous analysis of the conventional Alice string for which only large distance behaviors are known, we can exactly perform a calculation in the full space thanks to the BPS properties.  相似文献
