The electronic structure of NiS on both sides of the metal-nonmetal transition has been studied by photoemission spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation and compared with band structure calculations. Interplay between Ni d-ligand hybridization, electron correlation, exchange interaction, and d-band formation is discussed.  相似文献

We investigated the sucrose radical-production cross-section induced by heavy-ion irradiation. L-alanine was also used in order to compare radical yield and cross-section. The stable free radicals after irradiation were analyzed by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). The radical yield obtained by the irradiated samples had a logarithmic correlation with the LET (linear energy transfer). Quantitative EPR analyses showed that radical productions for sucrose and L-alanine vary both by different particle irradiation and the LET under the same absorbed dose. Furthermore, the cross-sections of radical productions for samples were calculated. Both cross-sections for C ions irradiation under LET 30 keV/microm at 50 Gy dose were approximately 3.0x10(-9) microm(2), taking account of the molecular areas of the samples. The values of the cross-sections imply that multiple ionizing particles involve producing stable radicals.  相似文献

At1g78500, one of the oxidosqualene cyclase (OSC) homologues from Arabidopsis thaliana, was expressed in a lanosterol synthase-deficient yeast strain and the products were analyzed. In addition to the known triterpenes, this OSC was found to produce two new triterpenes, the structures of which were determined by NMR and MS analyses. The new triterpenes are C-ring-seco-beta-amyrin (1) and C-ring-seco-alpha-amyrin (2) and named beta-seco-amyrin and alpha-seco-amyrin, respectively. beta-seco-Amyrin is produced from the oleanyl cation through bond cleavage between C8 and C14, and alpha-seco-amyrin is produced from the ursanyl cation in the same manner. Together with Grob fragmentation catalyzed by another OSC (marneral synthase) from A. thaliana, the formation of seco-amyrins by this OSC revealed that OSCs not only catalyze carbon-carbon bond formations and Wagner-Meerwein rearrangements but also cleave preformed ring systems in cationic intermediates. Based on this information, direct production of other natural seco-triterpenes by OSCs is proposed.  相似文献

The bisphenol‐A type epoxy resin was combined with layered clays. Three types of epoxy/clay nanocomposites were prepared by different clay pretreatment methods, that is, the slurry (clay swelling with polar solvent), organo, and solubilization (organoclay swelling with polar solvent) methods. The organo and solubilization systems showed good dispersibility. The basal spacing of the layered clays in the obtained nanocomposites was evaluated by XRD and TEM observations. The basal spacing of the nanoclay in the solubilization system drastically increased. The mechanical properties were improved with the increase in the clay dispersion. A new class of chiral stationary phases (CSP) with peptide chiral selectors was prepared by solid-phase synthesis with a tert-butoxycarbonyl-L-amino acid on silica. The type of amino acid that is favorable for this class of CSP is discussed. Using the CSP with the phenylalanine peptide selector, the effect of peptide length on the enantioselectivity was investigated in normal-phase mode. The applicability of the CSP with a phenylalanine peptide to chiral ligand-exchange chromatography was also examined.

Blood-brain-barrier (BBB)-permeable, 3-methoxycarbonyl-2,2,5,5-tetramethylpyrrolidine-1-yloxy (MC-PROXYL) and BBB-impermeable carbamoyl-PROXYL were used to assess the ESR imaging technique by comparing with autoradiography. For this purpose, spin probes, 14C-labeled at their five-membered ring, [14C]MC-PROXYL and [14C]carbamoyl-PROXYL, were newly synthesized. These probes were i.p. or i.v. injected into rats and autoradiograms were recorded. The autoradiograms of rat head showed that [14C]MC-PROXYL distributed well in the brain compared to [14C]carbamoyl-PROXYL. In vivo ESR spectra and two-dimensional ESR images of isolated rat brain treated with MC- or carbamoyl-PROXYL also indicated the extensive distribution of MC-PROXYL but not carbamoyl-PROXYL in the rat brain. The three-dimensional ESR images of the head of rats and mice were consistent with the fact that MC-PROXYL but not carbamoyl-PROXYL is incorporated into the brain. The ESR-CT images were better for mice than rats. However, the quality of the ESR-CT images was still not satisfactory. Although the resolution and sensitivity of the ESR-CT images were worse than those of the autoradiographic images, the former technique has unique features and advantages; e.g., functional, noninvasive and three-dimensional detection.  相似文献

We report on specific heat measurements of the quasi-one-dimensional organic salt (TMTSF)2AsF6 in its spin density wave state between 75 mK and 7 K. Similarly to (TMTSF)2PF6, we find discontinuities in the lattice contribution at 1.9 K an d 3.5 K ascribed to sub-spin density wave phases. Time-dependent effects due to dynamics of low-energy excitations in metastable states occur only below 0.2 K which yields an activation energy for the equilibrium energy relaxation process of 0.34 K, 4-5 times smaller than found for (TMTSF)2PF6. Finally the reduction of the low-energy excitations contribution to the specific heat in comparison to PF6 reveals an intermediate cubic-like regime between 0.25 and 0.5 K that we tentatively describe as the phason contribution of the incommensurate spin density wave modulation. We have developed a near-field optical probe that uses a triangular metallic plate with a three-dimensionally tapered apex as a light source for thermally assisted magnetic recording. Numerical analysis using a finite-element method shows that the size of the optical spot generated at the apex is 15 nm x 20 nm, and the efficiency (defined as the ratio between the power of the optical near field at the surface of the recording medium and that of the incident light) is 15% when the incident light is focused by a lens with a numerical aperture of 0.8. The metallic plate was fabricated on the surface of a quartz slider and used for writing marks on a phase change recording medium. The marks were observed with a scanning electron microscope, and we confirmed that marks with a diameter of 40 nm were successfully written on the medium.  相似文献
