Fragmentation in doubly charged ion mass spectra of anhydropisatin and related compounds

The doubly charged ion mass spectra of anhydropisatin, 4-methoxyanhydropisatin, 3, 8, 9-trimethoxypterocarpen and 3, 4, 8, 9-tetramethoxypterocarpen were determined, and the fragmentation was explained by assuming that the paired electrons were partially localized in the fragmentations and by comparing the spectra with that of 3-(CD₃)-anhydropisatin. Conventional mass spectra of these compounds were very simple, but the doubly charged ion spectra were sufficiently characteristic for the reliable identification.     

Sorption of ethanesulfonic acid by nylon-6 containing various numbers of end groups

From the analysis of the permeation of ³⁵S labeled ethanesulfonic acid, through nylon-6 films sorption isotherms were obtained. The films are characterized by their largely different content of carboxyl and amino end groups. It was found that the shape of the isotherm depends on the molar ratio of the two end groups: an S-shape curve for the film containing the carboxyl end group larger than the amino end group and a Langmuir-type curve for the film containing comparable numbers of end groups. These results were explained by the McGregor-Harris theory in which the acid dissociation constants of the two end groups in nylon were estimated experimentally.     

Preparation and Properties of Anti-Reflection/Anti-Static Thin Films for Cathode Ray Tubes Prepared by Sol-Gel Method Using Photoirradiation

A new technique for preparing anti-reflection/anti-static thin films for CRTs at low temperature has been developed. Double-layered films of SiO₂/SnO₂ were formed on a CRT panel surface by the sol-gel method using photoirradiation. The new method makes it possible to reduce heat treatment temperature (°C) by almost 50% and treatment time to approximately 33% of the conventional levels.     

Studies on antiulcer drugs. VI. 4-Furyl-2-guanidinothiazoles and related compounds as potent histamine H2-receptor antagonists.

A series of 4-furyl-2-guanidinothiazole derivatives and related compounds were synthesized and evaluated for histamine H2-receptor antagonist and gastric acid antisecretory activities. Among them, compounds I-17, I-48 and I-49 showed high activities in these tests. In addition, compound I-17 possessed potent inhibitory activities on each of the gastric ulcers induced by stress, ethanol and HCl-aspirin. On the other hand, compound I-48 demonstrated antimicrobial activity against Helicobacter Pylori and the potency was far stronger than that of clinically used H2-antagonists. Some structure-activity relationships are discussed.
