The paper deals with the comparative study of nanocrystalline Lanthanum hexaboride (LaB6) thin films grown on various substrates by Pulsed laser deposition and Arc plasma method. Field emission studies were carried out on LaB6 films deposited on various substrates show metallic behavior of the emitters. The high value of field enhancement factors, indicating that the electron emission from LaB6 nanoscale protrusions deposited on emitter surface. The post field emission surface morphology of the emitters showed no significant erosion of the films during continuous operation. The observed behavior indicates that it is linked with the growth of LaB6 films on substrate crystal structure. The LaB6 nanocrystallites/nanowires films were synthesized using arc plasma method shows good emission current stability. The LaB6 micro/nanocrystallites were also obtained by picosecond laser irradiation which gives high enhancement β factor, and good emission current stability along with high current density. The results reveal that nanocrystalline LaB6 films, exhibit high resistance to ion bombardment and excellent structural stability and are more promising emitters for practical applications in field emission based new generation devices.  相似文献

X-band (9.60 GHz) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra of the Er3+ Kramers ion substituting for the Y3+ ion in yttrium vanadate (YVO4) single crystal were recorded at liquid-helium temperatures. Fine and hyperfine EPR transitions were observed for the 166Er (zero nuclear magnetic moment) and 167Er (I=7/2) isotopes, respectively. The values of the elements of the anisotropic 2- and Ã2-tensors of the 167Er3+ ion, and those of the 2 tensor for the 166Er ion, were estimated. The admixture of crystal-field wave functions in the ground-state wave function of Er3+ were determined using the experimental g-values.  相似文献

The paper presents a comprehensive theoretical study on the electro-osmotic flow of a viscoelastic fluid past a channel having stretching walls. An attempt has been made to investigate the effect of rheological and electro-osmotic parameters on the kinematics of the fluid. Results presented here pertain to the case where the channel height is much greater than the thickness of electrical double layer comprising the Stern and diffuse layers. The study reveals that an increase in electro-osmotic parameter leads to an increase in the axial velocity throughout the channel for a fluid having viscoelastic coefficient equal to that of blood. This aspect provides a source of novel insight into the process of designing bio-sensing and micro-fluidic devices.  相似文献

Small-angle light-scattering (SALS) studies were carried out on block copolymers of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT), the synthesis and characterization of which have been reported in an earlier paper. Samples were crystallized isothermally from the melt at 95°C for predetermined crystallization times in order to follow the formation and growth of crystalline superstructure. During the early stages of crystallization, the block copolymers showed unusual Hv patterns with the four lobes along the polarizer directions, while at later stages they showed the usual Hv patterns with the four lobes at 45° to the polarizer directions. The unusual patterns are characteristic of PBT superstructure, while the usual patterns are characteristic of PET superstructure. These results show that PBT, which is the faster-crystallizing component, crystallizes first and provides nucleation sites for the crystallization of PET, which crystallizes later. Similar behavior was not observed in PET homopolymer and random copolymers of equivalent compositions. In each case the spherulite size increased with the time of crystallization. The ultimate spherulite size decreased with increasing PBT content in the block copolymer, thus showing an increase in nucleation density. It was demonstrated that light scattering is a useful tool to characterize block copolymers of two crystalline components which have different types of superstructure.  相似文献

Preparation and characterization of four new hydrated alkali metal molybdates Na2Mo4O13·6H2O, K2Mo4O13·3H2O, Rb2Mo4O13·2H2O and Cs2Mo4O13·2H2O are described. The compounds were prepared by crystallizing the solution obtained by dissolving MoO3 and corresponding alkali metal carbonates A2CO3 or molybdate A2MoO4 in stoichiometric amount in distilled water. The hydrated molybdates were characterized by thermal (TG/DTA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. The number of water molecules in the compounds were determined from their TG /DTA curves recorded in air and identification of their dehydration products was done by XRD. The cell parameters of the compounds were obtained by indexing their XRD patterns. Attempt to prepare the corresponding hydrated compound of lithium was not successful. We consider here in a toy model an approach to bound state problem in a nonperturbative manner using equal time algebra for the interacting field operators. The potential is replaced by offshell bosonic quanta inside the bound state of nonrelativistic particles. The bosonic dressing is determined through energy minimisation, and mass renormalisation is carried out in a nonperturbative manner. Since the interaction is through a scalar field, it does not include spin effects. The model however nicely incorporates an intuitive picture of hadronic bound states in which the gluon fields dress the quarks providing the binding between them and also simulate the gluonic content of hadrons in deep inelastic collisions.  相似文献

Leibniz algebras are certain generalization of Lie algebras. In this paper, we give the classification of four-dimensional non-Lie nilpotent Leibniz algebras. We use the canonical forms for the congruence classes of matrices of bilinear forms and some other techniques to obtain our result.  相似文献
