Sums and Limits of Generalized Direct Families of Algebras

In this paper we introduce a generalization of direct families of algebras and we study their limits and sums. In the case of generalized direct families of algebras carried by idempotent algebras we investigate some subdirect decompositions of their sums. The results that we obtain generalize various results given by J.L. Chrislock and T. Tamura [2], M. iri and S. Bogdanovi [3-7], H. Mitsch [13], M. Petrich [14-16], B.M. Analytic models for commuting operator tuples on bounded symmetric domains

For a domain in and a Hilbert space of analytic functions on which satisfies certain conditions, we characterize the commuting -tuples of operators on a separable Hilbert space  such that is unitarily equivalent to the restriction of to an invariant subspace, where is the operator -tuple on the Hilbert space tensor product  . For the unit disc and the Hardy space , this reduces to a well-known theorem of Sz.-Nagy and Foias; for a reproducing kernel Hilbert space on such that the reciprocal of its reproducing kernel is a polynomial in and  , this is a recent result of Ambrozie, Müller and the second author. In this paper, we extend the latter result by treating spaces for which ceases to be a polynomial, or even has a pole: namely, the standard weighted Bergman spaces (or, rather, their analytic continuation) on a Cartan domain corresponding to the parameter in the continuous Wallach set, and reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces for which is a rational function. Further, we treat also the more general problem when the operator is replaced by ,  being a certain generalization of a unitary operator tuple. For the case of the spaces on Cartan domains, our results are based on an analysis of the homogeneous multiplication operators on , which seems to be of an independent interest.

     

Perfect Baer Subplane Partitions and Three-Dimensional Flag-Transitive Planes

The classification of perfectBaer subplane partitions of PG(2, q²) is equivalentto the classification of 3-dimensional flag-transitive planeswhose translation complements contain a linear cyclic group actingregularly on the line at infinity. Since all known flag-transitiveplanes admit a translation complement containing a linear cyclicsubgroup which either acts regularly on the points of the lineat infinity or has two orbits of equal size on these points,such a classification would be a significant step towards theclassification of all 3-dimensional flag-transitive planes. Usinglinearized polynomials, a parametric enumeration of all perfectBaer subplane partitions for odd q is described.Moreover, a cyclotomic conjecture is given, verified by computerfor odd prime powers q < 200, whose truth would implythat all perfect Baer subplane partitions arise from a constructionof Kantor and hence the corresponding flag-transitive planesare all known.     

Progress in Optical Waveguiding Thin Films

Overview of recent activities in the development of active and passive thin film waveguides, waveguide lasers and laser-deposited waveguiding films is given. Published results and parameters are summarized. The focus is on films fabricated by laser deposition.     

Recurrence relations for orthogonal rational functions

It is well known that members of families of polynomials, that are orthogonal with respect to an inner product determined by a nonnegative measure on the real axis, satisfy a three-term recursion relation. Analogous recursion formulas are available for orthogonal Laurent polynomials with a pole at the origin. This paper investigates recursion relations for orthogonal rational functions with arbitrary prescribed real or complex conjugate poles. The number of terms in the recursion relation is shown to be related to the structure of the orthogonal rational functions.

Improvement of acetylcholinesterase-based assay for organophosphates in way of identification by reactivators

Organophosphates present serious fulmination in several aspects of human life. Detection of organophosphates is frequently based on following acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition. Although limit of detection and sensitivity for AChE-based assays seem to be intriguing, the identification of organophosphates is not currently efficient in this way. We introduce an improvement of AChE-based assay by reactivators using a selective come-back of AChE activity after previous inhibition. We have chosen four organophosphates: paraoxon-ethyl, paraoxon-methyl, trichlorfon, methamidophos as representative pesticides and the three most available reactivators: HI-6, obidoxime, pralidoxime. Reactivation was realized in the 96-wells photometric microplates and activity of human recombinant AChE was followed by reaction of Ellman's reagent with one of enzyme digestion product: thiocholine. Distinguishing of reactivation efficacy was judged by the independent two population t-test. The most significant identification was based on methamidophos inhibited AChE reactivation by HI-6 or pralidoxime and paraoxon-ethyl inhibited AChE by obidoxime; moreover, identification of trichlorfon and paraoxon-methyl was possible, too. Practical impact of described method is discussed.     

Synthesis and molecular structure of methyl 4-O-methyl-alpha-D-glucopyranuronate

A method for the preparation of methyl 4-O-methyl-alpha-D-glucopyranuronate and its single crystal X-ray structure determination are reported. The molecule adopts an almost ideal (4)C1 ((degree)C3) conformation.     

Detection of p53 Gene by Using Genomagnetic Assay Combined with Carbon Nanotube Modified Disposable Sensor Technology

Electrochemical monitoring of DNA hybridization related to p53 gene sequence was investigated using genomagnetic assay combined with single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) modified pencil graphite electrodes (PGEs). The hybridization was performed either at magnetic beads (MB) surface or in solution. The enhanced guanine signal was obtained using SWCNT‐PGEs compared to one obtained by unmodified PGEs. The selectivity of genomagnetic assay was tested under optimum conditions. The DLs were calculated as 0.88 µM and 0.11 µM for hybridization performed at MB surface and solution, respectively. This selective, practical and cost effective genomagnetic assay combined with SWCNT‐PGEs is reported herein for the first time.
